Great accomadation basic but clean. Staff are really helpfull and friendly. This is the third time that we have had an early weeks holiday there and it will not be the last hopefully. Since being removed from the First Choice brochure last year bookings are down, maybe because of the economic situation but its also makes it more difficult to book now. I totally sgree with the majority of reviews here and would suggest that we all put ourselfs out to ensure that The Hobby Club survives. The owners Grope Cabot have already closed several units that they had on lease, I believe that they own the Hobby Club and the Pollensa Park Hotel around the corner which will hopefully make thier survival more likely. So come if you love the Hobby Club book your holidays there again this year.

Just back from the Hobby Club and was really impressed.Everyone who worked there was lovely and helpfull, apartments spotless clean and cleaned every day. We came with 2 children 4 and 2 and had a fantastic time. Puerto Pollensa is beautiful place and we were situated ideally just 15 mins walk from the town. I would love to return but unfortunately the Hobby Club are no longer offering holidays through First Choice, but you can book rooms direct from them.

JUNE 2010 - Just returned home after a week at Hobby Club and had a brillant time. The Apartments are spotless. The beach was across the road from which you would get a fantastic breeze. Staff was very friendly and would give you any information or help you would need. Our First Choice rep was hopeless. The walk into Puerto Pollensa is lovely (15mins walk) but if you want buses they run into the Port roughly every fifteen minutes and cost one euro 10 cents. Alucudia on the bus costs 1.50 and the waterpark is excellent there!! Our kids loved everything about it! The Spar shop its okay for fresh bread and cakes but its worth going into town and going to Eroski for a lot of shopping and getting a taxi back. Markets at Pollensa on Sundays and Wednesday at Puerto Pollensa.
Lots of places to eat out and bars to go to. To sum up, if you want a quite and relaxing holiday, the Hobby Club is the Place!!! FAB HOLIDAY.
- Advice: Fab place for pool or beach lovers

Just returned home after a week at Hobby Club and are planning to go back in September. The Apartments are absolutely spotless. The beach only being across the road was a bonus. Staff couldn't do enough for you very friendly. Would suggest that you opt for a sea view or pool view, out apartment was over reception and our view was not so good but as we were out most of the time it didn't really matter. The walk along the front into Puerto Pollensa is flat but buses run into the Port roughly every fifteen minutes and cost one euro l5 cents. Visit Pollensa, its beautiful again the bus only costs one euro and 25 cents also Alucudia the same price. Whatever you do don't buy your shopping at the Spar shop its okay for fresh bread and cakes but its worth going into town and going to Eroski and getting a taxi back. Markets at Pollensa on Sundays and Wednesday and Puerto Pollensa. Good variety of things not just your usual tacky stuff. Lots of flowers and fresh vegetables.
Lots of places to eat out and bars to go to our favourtie was Neptuno very old spanish tapas bar on the corner going towards the square lovely tapas reasonable and very friendly. Location of the Hobby Club couldn't be any better. Can't wait to go back.

This is the second time we have stayed in these apartments (Wife, Myself & 7year old) and once again I can not praise them enough, clean, friendly, great swimming pool, and what a location.
I don't want to praise it to highly as I'd like to keep it secret so we can return next year and not find it fully booked!!
If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday, but not completely isolated from the world this is it.
- Advice: Quiet and lovely town - No rowdy "Brittish Bars" and the most child friendly beach
- Activities: LLanaires Restaurant, see you again next year.

Having recently returned from our first holiday away, I can say Hobby Club and Puerto Pollensa met and exceeded our expectations,
Set in the fore front of the mountains and a stones throw from the sandy beach, Hobby club is situated in the most amazing place so very quiet and peaceful. The locals are very friendly and English is widely spoken,
On Arrival at reception to the Hobby Club, we were greeted by a very welcoming and friendly member of staff. The check in process was so very very easy and organised they knew who we were and was expecting our arrival.
The room was all you really need if going self catering, there is a Kitchen,Lounge,Bathroom,Bedroom and Balcony.there was Plenty of space available for all your shorts and flip flops ;) The air con came in very handy as well, the highest temp when we were there was a blistering 37 Degrees.
The Hobby club grounds were not massive but just big enough to hold a pool and a small bar and snack area. The Pool was lovely with a separate area for the children to play in without disturbing the adults, there was ample sunbeds available for everyone
The food from the Hobby Club Bar was simple snack food for during the day. If you want to have a lovely evening meal i would Highly reccomend Tango, which is a short walk down the beach ( in the direction of Alcudia) I would say this was some of the best food i have EVER had. There is lots of bars along the road which you can grab some food in and if you walk towards Pollensa park hotel there is a English bar which has entertainment every night.
the only bad point i would have is that there seemed to be a infestation of Ants on the balcony. but im sure if we had said something then it would have got sorted.
Top tips and things you must see.
1, Go to Tango amazing food
2, walk down to the square and the pine walk
3, the nearest cash point is in the foyer of pollensa park hotel.
4, Keep your eye out for the yellow sea plane
To surmise i would highly recommend The Hobby Club and Pollensa this place is not for you if you want to see a club on every corner and drink alcohol until your eyes bleed, it is a quiet place with lots of culture. If your looking for somewhere to relax away from the hustle and bustle then this is the place for you
Loved our Holiday and will be back to the Hobby Club one day

My husband and i and our two children aged 5 & 8 stayed at hobby club for 1 week. Nice looking from the outside just across the road from a lovely beach. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool was quite cold but was never busy and could always get a bed and as it is a uk only hotel no leaving of the towels on the sunbeds. We did have 2 cloudy days which with 2 children was quite difficult to find things to do. Food at Hobby was nice and resonably priced, food elsewhere was very expensive between £50 & £80 for main meal for 4. There are some nice restaurants in the square about 15 mins walk, Tex Mex was the best restaurant we found lovely food and service was brilliant. Also a pizza bar on the beach was very nice, but the BBQ/Grill the other end of the road wasnt that good expensive, food not brilliant and service was awful waited ages. A good night out for adults and children is the pirates show it was £161 for the 4 of us but we all really enjoyed it, we booked this with our rep and this included transport, meals and drinks. if you are planning to spend alot of time on the beach then take your own parasol as parasol and sunbed were 11 euros a day. Would definatley go again.
- Advice: beautiful beach nice and quiet

My daughter (12) and I spent a week in Puerto Pollensa; we stayed at the Hobby Club Apartments. We were delighted with the accommodation; it was very clean, room maids daily. The reception and bar staff were extremely pleasent and friendly. The grounds were kept clean, and the gardens trimmed.
Our First Choice representative was helpful at all times and usually on the premises if needed.
When out and about my daughter and I felt very safe and not at all intimidated.
My only advice to potential self catering visitors would be; stay away from the Spar,it is extremely expensive. There is a supermarket much cheaper and only a 15 min walk.

second time we have stayed in Mallorca (Me, Wife and 7yr old son), last time was August 2007 in Alcudia, so was not sure what to expect this time of year, we went the last week of October, and had never been to Pollenca before.
we were not disapointed.
The appartments were spotlesly clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful even though it was the end of the season (They closed the day we left) and there were only 5 appts. occupied.
The Hobby Clubs location is excellent, just across the road from the long beach and sea. It is about a 15 min level walk from the main resort centre and main port area.
There are a few good restarunts next door to the appt. complex, but a short walk to the back streets of the resort offer much more, especially if you enjoy authentic Mallorquian food. For those of you who don't, the usual food is on offer in the resort centre with an excellent "tex-mex" restaurant on the harbour front, alongside some great tappas bars. If you want something a bit more fancy to eat, "Stay" restaraunt on the harbour is an absoloute must, excellent childs menu and the quality of the food was superb.
Bus links to the rest of the Island are very good, with a stop less that 5 mins from the Hobby club, with a service every 15mins to Alcudia and C'an Piccafort and around every 1/2 hour to formentor and Pollenca Town.
The only comment I do have is that we went the last week in October, the last week of the season, and many places were closed or visably closing (especially the numerous Spar shops), and the beach was slowly cleared during the week of loungers and parasolls etc, so by Thursday there was just bare sand.
You also take your chance with the weather this time of the year, so three days of sunshine, days overcast and 1 day of torrential rain and a mighty electrical storm that took out the power to the whole town on wednesday afternoon.
Overall a very enjoyable holiday, the Hobby club is excellent and we are looking to go back in the Summer holidays in 2009.

Family of 4 went in August this year absolutely fantastic holiday, nice and relaxing. Very clean apartments beautiful beach just across the road. Found the spar shop next door a bit pricey but have a walk just up the road near the Pollensa Park its a lot cheaper there. Went to Pollensa Park for evening entertainment which was fun.
Would definately book again really nice place.

Just got back from a lovely family holiday in Puerto Pollensa. Hobby Club Apartments suited us very well. Apartment 204 had a great Pool & Sea View, with flat screen with english channels.Take some extra hangers as not alot, not much storage for clothes for a family of 4 but wardrobe is spacious. Apartment was spotless, great size with large bathroom. Pool was attended to every morning. Had a bit of issue with the reserving of sunbeds. It got a bit annoying when some beds were left unnattended for several hours. Very Selfish people around. Had to resort to going down to pool around 8:30 - 9 am to get some beds. Bar & snack bar only opened at 1pm which was a bit of a disapointment, it would of been nice to have a coffee, drink or ice cream. The spar next door does sell fresh bread, cakes, pastries & sandwiches. Bit pricey but so handy !!!!. Think the hotel are missing a trick there!!. Had no issues with noise from bar or main road. Both young children had peaceful night sleep every night. The apartments are on the outskirts of the puerto pollensa but it is a nice walk. Lots of nice restaurants and lovely villas on the way. Try PALMS BAR down side street by the huge Pollensa Hotel. English bar with great Tribute acts which include Sassy Stryker. Great Laugh. Went on a speed boat with SEA ADVENTURE. Had a great time, TOLO was a great host. Pricey but worth it.
Beach across the road is beautiful. Lots of space. Loads of beds and umbrellas. Bit pricey at 11 Euros per day for 2 beds & umbrella. Due to the Euro, we found that prices have severly increased. More expensive than the UK.
