Hobby Club Apartments Reviews
" Pollensa - Loved it "
Submitted By: Holly & PaulSet in the fore front of the mountains and a stones throw from the sandy beach, Hobby club is situated in the most amazing place so very quiet and peaceful. The locals are very friendly and English is widely spoken,
On Arrival at reception to the Hobby Club, we were greeted by a very welcoming and friendly member of staff. The check in process was so very very easy and organised they knew who we were and was expecting our arrival.
The room was all you really need if going self catering, there is a Kitchen,Lounge,Bathroom,Bedroom and Balcony.there was Plenty of space available for all your shorts and flip flops ;) The air con came in very handy as well, the highest temp when we were there was a blistering 37 Degrees.
The Hobby club grounds were not massive but just big enough to hold a pool and a small bar and snack area. The Pool was lovely with a separate area for the children to play in without disturbing the adults, there was ample sunbeds available for everyone
The food from the Hobby Club Bar was simple snack food for during the day. If you want to have a lovely evening meal i would Highly reccomend Tango, which is a short walk down the beach ( in the direction of Alcudia) I would say this was some of the best food i have EVER had. There is lots of bars along the road which you can grab some food in and if you walk towards Pollensa park hotel there is a English bar which has entertainment every night.
the only bad point i would have is that there seemed to be a infestation of Ants on the balcony. but im sure if we had said something then it would have got sorted.
Top tips and things you must see.
1, Go to Tango amazing food
2, walk down to the square and the pine walk
3, the nearest cash point is in the foyer of pollensa park hotel.
4, Keep your eye out for the yellow sea plane
To surmise i would highly recommend The Hobby Club and Pollensa this place is not for you if you want to see a club on every corner and drink alcohol until your eyes bleed, it is a quiet place with lots of culture. If your looking for somewhere to relax away from the hustle and bustle then this is the place for you
Loved our Holiday and will be back to the Hobby Club one day
Advice: Quiet relaxing haven from the hustle and bustle of real life
Activities: Tango , by far served the BEST food i have ever tasted

Submitted By: samandmollOur First Choice representative was helpful at all times and usually on the premises if needed.
When out and about my daughter and I felt very safe and not at all intimidated.
My only advice to potential self catering visitors would be; stay away from the Spar,it is extremely expensive. There is a supermarket much cheaper and only a 15 min walk.
Advice: The beautiful scenery
Activities: Marine land

" View From Appt. "
Submitted By: nigsy116we were not disapointed.
The appartments were spotlesly clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful even though it was the end of the season (They closed the day we left) and there were only 5 appts. occupied.
The Hobby Clubs location is excellent, just across the road from the long beach and sea. It is about a 15 min level walk from the main resort centre and main port area.
There are a few good restarunts next door to the appt. complex, but a short walk to the back streets of the resort offer much more, especially if you enjoy authentic Mallorquian food. For those of you who don't, the usual food is on offer in the resort centre with an excellent "tex-mex" restaurant on the harbour front, alongside some great tappas bars. If you want something a bit more fancy to eat, "Stay" restaraunt on the harbour is an absoloute must, excellent childs menu and the quality of the food was superb.
Bus links to the rest of the Island are very good, with a stop less that 5 mins from the Hobby club, with a service every 15mins to Alcudia and C'an Piccafort and around every 1/2 hour to formentor and Pollenca Town.
The only comment I do have is that we went the last week in October, the last week of the season, and many places were closed or visably closing (especially the numerous Spar shops), and the beach was slowly cleared during the week of loungers and parasolls etc, so by Thursday there was just bare sand.
You also take your chance with the weather this time of the year, so three days of sunshine, days overcast and 1 day of torrential rain and a mighty electrical storm that took out the power to the whole town on wednesday afternoon.
Overall a very enjoyable holiday, the Hobby club is excellent and we are looking to go back in the Summer holidays in 2009.

Submitted By: Mr S HoultThe staff at the hobby Club are extremely friendly and helpful and the general atmosphere around the pool and hotel was great. There are plenty of sunbeds available around the pool and you didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve a bed for the day. OK people were reserving the prime position sunbeds at 9am when the pool opened but you could still get a sunbed by the pool which had the sun til about 4pm with no problem at all. The Spar shop next door was a little more expensive than some of the other supermarkets furthur up the road but not extortionately priced. Besides they did fantastic fresh croissants and baguettes which were very tasty. The measure of the Hobby Club Apartments is that a lot of guest were 2nd or 3rd time in a row returnees. That to me says a lot. We shall definately look to return in 2009.

Submitted By: Mrs J SHINTONAll the staff were extremley helpful, the food in the bar was reasonably cheap and nice. The apartments were big enough for us (mom, dad and 11 and 14 year old), hairdryer in the apartment and the air conditioning was very effective as it was rather warm!!!. We requested and payed for a pool view which we got but also we had a view of the sea with this came a little road noise (when the door is shut there is no noise).
We hired a car from Europcar for 3 days and i would certainly recommend this, we drove up into the mountains and into other parts of Mallorca including Callor Millor/Bona.
Puerto Pollensa itself is very nice but we found we needed somewhere else to go after a couple of days.
The juice bar up in the main town on the front is very nice they do light snacks and it is very reasonable, however the Indian restaurant is over priced and not very nice (they tried to charge us for 3 items we did not have so check your bill carefully if you go there).
All in all a really nice area, really nice apartments but just not much to do close by so hire a car.

Submitted By: Ms K LloydThe weather whilst we were there was fabulous and although it was high season, we never struggled to get a lounger by the pool (and there was 6 of us!). The pool & loungers were cleaned every night by the staff who were the friendliest I have ever experienced in a spanish hotel.
The beach was cleaned nightly and again plenty of sunbeds available as well as pedalos & parachute rides.
The port itself was about twenty min walk away, which was a nice flat stroll along the wide pavement or the beach. In town there is no shortage of places to eat and the square is a lovely bustling place to eat, watch sport on the outdoor widescreen tv's or to just sit & watch the world go by.
Overall, Pollenca felt quite a safe place and housed a variety of agegroups (no stag do's or gangs on the lash!!) I had 2 teenagers, an 11 year old & a 7 year old and they all enjoyed the town & the yachts in the port!
I would not hestiate in recommending the hobby club to anyone wanting a relaxing break and I for one would return here tomorrow!! (I wish!!!) 10/10 for value for money

Submitted By: Mrs The Dean FamilyExcellent places to eat... avoid the church square as too touristy with bland menus.. we went for anywhere we saw the Spanish eating and was not disappointed paella great from Galleon, rustic food from La Golita and our top favourite was Las Zarzales where the food is to die for and the staff are the best go for the pork and prawns you won’t be disappointed.
The Hobby club was very clean we had a road room which we loved as we had a sea view and it was not noisy at all as it is the quiet road at the side of the hotel.
The pool was clean and not packed though we were surprised to see that even though this is totally British clientele staying there, some people still seemed to want to preserve their sunbeds with towels at the crack of dawn even though there was plenty of spaces available. The staff were the friendliest we have come across and could not do more for you and even better if you want to practise your Spanish on them! the beach is literally over the road with lovely clear sea and soft white sand loads of sunbeds too so lots of space.
The spar shop is next door to the apartments and even though some people have said it is more expensive than the larger one at the edge of town, why waste your holiday traipsing around for best buy food when they stock all that you need and more and it’s not that pricey.. come on your on holiday!! they also do filled baguettes and lovely cakes and pastries from the bakery and best of all try their hot out of the oven croissants in the morning though the apartment breakfast we found very good also.
We had a lovely flight in and out and the resort rep was lovely and not pushy at all so all in all we will go back and would highly recommend this accommodation the resort and first choice.

Submitted By: Miss J WaltonThe apartments at the Hobby club complex were fantastic and beautifully clean. The staff are friendly, efficient and very helpful.
The pool is lovely with plenty of sunbeds. The beach is just across the road and that is lovely too.
Overall it was a fantastic holiday with plenty of wonderful restaurants and I can understand why so many people stay year after year. We will be going again next year.

I don't want to praise it to highly as I'd like to keep it secret so we can return next year and not find it fully booked!!
If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday, but not completely isolated from the world this is it.
Advice: Quiet and lovely town - No rowdy "Brittish Bars" and the most child friendly beach
Activities: LLanaires Restaurant, see you again next year.
Good for: Beach
