Family of 4 went in August this year absolutely fantastic holiday, nice and relaxing. Very clean apartments beautiful beach just across the road. Found the spar shop next door a bit pricey but have a walk just up the road near the Pollensa Park its a lot cheaper there. Went to Pollensa Park for evening entertainment which was fun.

Would definately book again really nice place.

Just returned from the Hobby Club Apartments. Very impressed with the accomodation. Yes they are basic but thet are spacious and clean and contain everything you need. The air conditioning was alao a welcome relief from a hard day in the sun. Apartments now contain flat screen T.V's with a selection of British channels including CeeBeebies for the kids.

The staff at the hobby Club are extremely friendly and helpful and the general atmosphere around the pool and hotel was great. There are plenty of sunbeds available around the pool and you didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve a bed for the day. OK people were reserving the prime position sunbeds at 9am when the pool opened but you could still get a sunbed by the pool which had the sun til about 4pm with no problem at all. The Spar shop next door was a little more expensive than some of the other supermarkets furthur up the road but not extortionately priced. Besides they did fantastic fresh croissants and baguettes which were very tasty. The measure of the Hobby Club Apartments is that a lot of guest were 2nd or 3rd time in a row returnees. That to me says a lot. We shall definately look to return in 2009.

We stayed at the Hobby Club for 1 week in the middle of July and i must say it wasn't as busy as we expected. There was always a few people putting towels on sun loungers at 9am by the pool but there were still enough to go around.

All the staff were extremley helpful, the food in the bar was reasonably cheap and nice. The apartments were big enough for us (mom, dad and 11 and 14 year old), hairdryer in the apartment and the air conditioning was very effective as it was rather warm!!!. We requested and payed for a pool view which we got but also we had a view of the sea with this came a little road noise (when the door is shut there is no noise).

We hired a car from Europcar for 3 days and i would certainly recommend this, we drove up into the mountains and into other parts of Mallorca including Callor Millor/Bona.

Puerto Pollensa itself is very nice but we found we needed somewhere else to go after a couple of days.

The juice bar up in the main town on the front is very nice they do light snacks and it is very reasonable, however the Indian restaurant is over priced and not very nice (they tried to charge us for 3 items we did not have so check your bill carefully if you go there).

All in all a really nice area, really nice apartments but just not much to do close by so hire a car.

I have just returned from a weeks stay @ the hobby club and must say I was very pleasantly suprised. The apartments themselves were a good size and kept lovely & clean. Although my apartment was overlooking the road, the view of the beach (directly across the road) more than compensated for it!

The weather whilst we were there was fabulous and although it was high season, we never struggled to get a lounger by the pool (and there was 6 of us!). The pool & loungers were cleaned every night by the staff who were the friendliest I have ever experienced in a spanish hotel.

The beach was cleaned nightly and again plenty of sunbeds available as well as pedalos & parachute rides.

The port itself was about twenty min walk away, which was a nice flat stroll along the wide pavement or the beach. In town there is no shortage of places to eat and the square is a lovely bustling place to eat, watch sport on the outdoor widescreen tv's or to just sit & watch the world go by.

Overall, Pollenca felt quite a safe place and housed a variety of agegroups (no stag do's or gangs on the lash!!) I had 2 teenagers, an 11 year old & a 7 year old and they all enjoyed the town & the yachts in the port!

I would not hestiate in recommending the hobby club to anyone wanting a relaxing break and I for one would return here tomorrow!! (I wish!!!) 10/10 for value for money

Lovely, clean apartments and we had a fantastic view overlooking the pool and the beach. Beach just across the road and short walk to the main centre and marina. Didnt like Tex Mex - chips stone cold and burger only just cooked but plenty of other places to eat. Good bus service to Alcudia - 15 minutes around the coast.

Lovely holiday.

July 07 was our 3rd holiday in the Hobby Club. Our daughters aged 12 and 15 love it as much as we do and always want to go back there. The cleanliness is second to none and the staff are brilliant, they could give lessons to people in other places we have been to. Unfortunately, Jaime was not there but in the Pollensa Park Hotel this year and he was a great loss to the Hobby Club despite how brilliant Vanessa and the other staff are. We have booked to return this July 08 and would love to see him re-installed. With everything at your fingertips, beach, shops and restaurants we would advise anyone to go there. Be sure to eat at The Galleon, a bit more pricey than avg but excellent and The Swallow, great food, fantastic value. Enjoy!!

Apartments were great for the money. Basic but clean with lots of space. One caveat to all this is that Puerto de Pollensa is full of young families, i.e. screaming under-2s, and Hobby Club seemed to house most of them.

Just got back from a wonderful week at the Hobby club apartments the resort was clean and very pretty ideal for families with no groups of drunken males and females it was also full of Spanish on holiday.

Excellent places to eat... avoid the church square as too touristy with bland menus.. we went for anywhere we saw the Spanish eating and was not disappointed paella great from Galleon, rustic food from La Golita and our top favourite was Las Zarzales where the food is to die for and the staff are the best go for the pork and prawns you won’t be disappointed.

The Hobby club was very clean we had a road room which we loved as we had a sea view and it was not noisy at all as it is the quiet road at the side of the hotel.

The pool was clean and not packed though we were surprised to see that even though this is totally British clientele staying there, some people still seemed to want to preserve their sunbeds with towels at the crack of dawn even though there was plenty of spaces available. The staff were the friendliest we have come across and could not do more for you and even better if you want to practise your Spanish on them! the beach is literally over the road with lovely clear sea and soft white sand loads of sunbeds too so lots of space.

The spar shop is next door to the apartments and even though some people have said it is more expensive than the larger one at the edge of town, why waste your holiday traipsing around for best buy food when they stock all that you need and more and it’s not that pricey.. come on your on holiday!! they also do filled baguettes and lovely cakes and pastries from the bakery and best of all try their hot out of the oven croissants in the morning though the apartment breakfast we found very good also.

We had a lovely flight in and out and the resort rep was lovely and not pushy at all so all in all we will go back and would highly recommend this accommodation the resort and first choice.

We have never been to Puerto Pollensa before but travel abroad on holiday often. We were a party of four, two adults and two children aged seven and four.

The apartments at the Hobby club complex were fantastic and beautifully clean. The staff are friendly, efficient and very helpful.

The pool is lovely with plenty of sunbeds. The beach is just across the road and that is lovely too.

Overall it was a fantastic holiday with plenty of wonderful restaurants and I can understand why so many people stay year after year. We will be going again next year.

I visited Puerto Pollensa this year with my wife and three children. I was pleasantly surprised with my accommodation at the Hobby Club apartments as it was allocation on arrival.

The apartments themselves were basic but very clean and the maids were there 5 days a week brushing and washing the floors and changing the towels.

The bed linen was changed twice a week. It was an ideal location with the town within 15 minutes walking distance. We ate at a variety of restaurants and all our meals were excellent.

Our holiday representative (George) was very good and very pleasant. We went to the famous Pirate's show which was the best night's entertainment for all age groups.

Overall we had a brilliant holiday and will definitely be back to the resort sometime in the future.

Well what can I say, the holiday was just fantastic.

We arrived in Palma on Tuesday the 26th of June at around 8pm and got a transfer to the apartments and got there at 9pm.

Once we arrived we saw straight away the location was perfect. Literally a walk across the road from the beach we couldn’t have asked for any better. We had a 'road view' room which when on the balcony it wasn’t really a 'road view' as you could see the beach!

The staff in the hotel were very friendly and always happy to help. When we went to our room we couldn’t believe how clean it was! It was spotless. Throughout the week the cleaners always seemed to be cleaning!

The windows, mopping the floor-everything! Even the sun loungers were cleaned every morning without fail!

The pool was brilliant, perfect size and spotless every day. It’s hard to believe the hotel is only 3*!

The beach is lovely, great sand (as is imported) and beach also immaculate!

About a 15minute walk right into the centre where the marina is situated, all on flat ground.

Many nice places to eat including 'la piazza', 'tangoes' and 'Dakotas tex mex'. Even the hotel does great bar food, (burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches etc). The spar next door has a great bakery yet prices are quite high for other foods. Ice creams are much cheaper at the hotel.

Weather was great and the people staying at the apartments were very friendly and we met many friends.

The management are strict on people putting towels out in the morning and don’t allow it yet there are ample sunbeds. On the 2nd on July there were only 5 families around the pool! It was lovely.

We also did 'donuting' on the beach which was great fun. All the watersports are fantastic and great value for money.

Overall it was a fabulous holiday and we will definitely be going again back to the same hotel for another brilliant holiday.

Best apartments we have self catered in, in a long time. Very clean with modern cooking facilities and plenty equipment.

Peaceful at night, air con too at no extra charge, deposit for security box given back when you return key.

Staff very polite and friendly. Beside main road which would be busy in peak season. Supermarket next door has great bakery. 15 min stroll past other hotels and apts and eating places to resort centre with lovely marina and lots of restaurants.

Plenty buses to other resorts also taxis with set prices. Old Pollensa is a must visit .Good driving countryside. Lovely clean beach.

We will be back.

This was a return visit for us to the Hobby Club and, again, we were delighted by how quiet it was. In general it is much like all the other local self-catering accommodation --nothing luxurious but with everything you need.

The staff were helpful and it was about a minute's walk to the beach. Going into town takes longer (about 20 minutes on foot) but there are plenty of local restaurants nearby.

Unlike almost all the other apartments we have stayed in here, this has no noisy evening entertainments so is perfect for families with small children (and tired adults). Clean and good value; we want to go again.

Just returned from 1 week in these apartments in P. Pollensa having gained confidence in our choice from the 2 reviews on the Holiday Watchdog site.

We would agree with all the good comments re- cleanliness, excellent position and beauty of the resort, and would add that the Hobby Club reception staff were very helpful. It was our first ever sun and sand holiday, being confirmed camping/Youth Hostellers, but our very enjoyable experience at this venue certainly makes it somewhere we would return to and recommend to families and couples.

Our party consisted of 2 adults and 2 girls aged 16 and it was reassuring to feel the resort seemed friendly and safe which allowed us to give the teenagers their independence.

This was our second year in the Hobby club apartments and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to young families / retired couples / couples. Although it is a 15 minute walk to the main resort we did not find this a disadvantage. Our daughter Amy was 2 1/2 and still in a buggy (Which helps!).

The resort is stunningly beautiful and charming without being dull. The Apartments are directly across the road from the beach and we never had a problem getting a sunbed (Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the Hobby Club - the Germans were no where in sight but the towels were on show from early in the morning !!).

The promenade that leads to the main resort is a very enjoyable walk early evening and we found it great for working up an appetite. The many restaurants were reasonably priced and there was a great selection of places.

We especially enjoyed "Tiberi" and the Italian at the top of the square (near the Church). Also along the front the tapas bar is well worth a visit and the portions are both tasty and generous (very large glasses for the drinks too!). The pine walk is a very enjoyable stroll and as we are booked again for next year we're looking forward to sampling some of the restaurants on offer down there.

The plush Hotel at the end of the Pine Walk (Illa D'Or) is a lovely place to sit for a drink in the evening and see how the other half live. Puerto Pollensa is a beautiful resort and so many of the people we met were returning year after year - always a good sign.
