Had a great holiday in Cala Egos at the Skorpios hotel.
It was our first time my partner and me. The hotel was very good and considering we booked last minute, very pleased.
We did the all in option and if you wanted a relaxing holiday this is the place to be. This was definitely a lazy holiday and we ate and drank too much and with the all in deal was fantastic.
The weather was great and of course with not too many kids about in September what more could you ask.
We walked around the resort which is quite small but if you were self catering there would be plenty of choice for everybody and even better there were no people pulling you into the bars and restaurants.
We did eat out a couple of times tried Botavaria on the marina and the Irish Bistro. Botavaria wasn’t too bad and you got the most beautiful view of the marina. The Irish Bistro was fantastic - real food so tasty I was so full I couldn’t drink, and they were Irish, something you don’t always expect. Otherwise found a few bars and found most of them quite expensive.
Overall very pleased and we are hoping to come out again later this year all being well.

I travelled here with my mum and 7 year old daughter, this was the 2nd time we have been to the Marina Skorpios. and we are coming back in September next year.
Again the food, rooms and overall Hotel, was excellent with a variety to choose from. We even ate in the Corfu(sister hotel) a few nights just for a change of scenery.
The best thing about the holiday was the entertainment staff, especially Sarah (child's rep), and Alberto, he was great and even made you feel very welcome outside the hotel, especially at Sparkles Karaoke and Music bar. I spent most of my time there, after the hotel entertainment had finished, as it was only a five minute walk to the main bit of Cala Egos,
also if you want good English food outside the hotel try The Dumpling in Cala Dor, only 5 euros in a taxi, they do a lovely Sunday roast.
My little girl enjoyed this year as she met a lovely little girl the same age called Lauren, but unfortunately she went home a few days after we arrived, we hope to meet them again when we come in September.
5 STAR rating to all the staff at Marina Skorpios/Corfu.

Was an allocation on arrival so didn’t know where we were staying. We couldn’t have got any where better than the Marina Skorpios.
I went with my partner 2 children and mum and dad, there was something for every body to do we never left the complex. We was all inclusive and it was definitely worth it the food was a fantastic variety. The staff and entertainment team was spot on a big thanks especially to Alberto, will, and Sarah, my children Lauren and Bradley cried on the last night because we were leaving.
We have booked again to go in May and hopefully September, but I definitely recommend this complex and can guarantee it will be a regular resort for me and my family, can’t wait to go back.

My family have just returned from the Skorpios Marina Hotel (twinned with the Corfu Marina Hotel) and I have to say this was the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in.
Everything from the room, food, ale and even the entertainment was excellent. The place is spotless and it appears that they have an army of cleaners constantly cleaning. There is even someone in the sea every morning fishing out the debris from during the day.
Our Room.
Family of 4, two kids (15 & 9) sleeping in one room. Spacious, three beds together and one in the corner, enough room not to feel cramped or top of each other. Fully air-conditioned and easily controlled. There is a small fridge in the room and a portable tv with several channels including BBC and ITV.
The room is cleaned every other day, although there is a sign you can put out on the door requesting that it be cleaned. The balcony is on the small side, but three people could sit out there in comfort.
The Food.
The food was unbelievable, plenty of choice of hot and cold stuff. There was a special section for vegetarians and even one for the kids to help themselves. Our plates were piled high every sitting, and the kids gorged themselves on the puddings and sweets afterwards. At breakfast there was proper sausages (not the hotdog type you get elsewhere) and a choice of bacon we are used to or the local stuff. There was even black pudding on the menu.
There was never a queue and the restaurant was kept spotlessly clean constantly. At times during the evening sitting there was a chef carving legs of lamb and pork etc right in front of you.
The Pool.
There are two pools on the complex, a smaller one next to the snack bar on the Corfu Marina side (we never used this so cannot comment on it) but it always looked well used. The main pool set between the two hotels had three sections, a small baby pool separated by a metal railing. The main pool was shaped like the number 8, started off very shallow then went deeper. But the deepest part wasn’t that deep, in fact at 5ft 10 I could stand up with my head above water. As with the rest of the complex it was spotless and was monitored by a lifeguard.
The Entertainment.
Not just the hotel entertainment crew doing a bit, we were there for a week and they had three acts on. One was a 4-Tops tribute band and they brought the house down that night.
The Beach.
Didn’t really use it much as my kids preferred the pool, but it was clean and not overly packed. I would have used it a lot more if not for the kids.
The Bars.
The longest I queued for was about 3 minutes, the beer was actually decent compared to other All Inclusives we’ve been to.
The Complex itself.
Cannot fault it one bit, there is loads of different areas for you just to chill out and relax. The sun beds are kept locked until 9am when there is the usual mob all waiting to claim them. However there are plenty of chairs and tables around to keep everyone happy.
The Staff.
One or two sullen ones but the rest were friendly and approachable and you could have a chat with. The entertainment crew work hard but have enough time to have a chat and a laugh. They comprise of a mixture of locals and English and organise plenty of activities for adults and kids each day.
The Surrounding Resort.
It’s not actually in Cala D’Or but a couple of miles away in Cala Egos. Cala Egos itself is very small, just a few streets of shops, restaurants, the odd Spar etc. But once again it’s very clean.
Cala D’Or is 5 Euros in a taxi and takes a about 5 minutes to get there. A visit to the harbour is a must.
Overall view.
As I said at the start, this is the best hotel we’ve stayed in and will be going back next year. Loads of people we talked to during our stay said the same thing about coming back, a lot had even stayed there before.
This is definitely a place for families or couples wanting to chill out, it’s not a place for groups of the same sex. The best thing about this place is that you can do as much or as little as you want, you can get to know people or just stay in your own world.
The only bad thing I can say about this place is that we never booked for two weeks, something like is going to be rectified in 2007.

Booked Half board holiday to Majorca late deal ended up here. Hotel very clean, maid service everyday, Buffet style meals so always something for everyone. Pool area very nice, even has its own beach, safe swimming in sea (cove). (Cala Egos)
Cala egos itself is very small not many bars mainly restaurants. We ended up staying in our hotel most nights, entertainment every night. some nights better than others.
We upgraded ourselves to all inclusive after 2nd day as it was cheaper to do this than to just buy drinks in hotel. Cost 12 euros per adult and 6 euros per child a day to do this. Drinks in hotel were 4 euros per pint and 2 euros for pop so it was a better deal to go all inclusive.
All in all holiday was good.

This was a functional hotel for us, first holiday without the children. The rooms were Ok but sheets and towels were not changed as often as we would have liked. The meals were OK but it is much like a school canteen, no long leisurely dinners for us.
Selection of food was good and fresh but they clear the dishes as soon as your cutlery is down and the house wine is dreadful. Some of the restaurants in Cala Egos are to be desired! The tapas are rotten and very overpriced, go into town and go to The Firkin, the atmosphere and service are second to none.
Cheeky Tiki's is also worth a laugh, even if only for the photos of the mental cocktails. Cala D’Or is a great place for families and couples but go early July as it gets really busy after this.

This was a very enjoyable holiday from beginning to end. We arrived at hotel about 2.00 am and were very surprised to find that we had cold meal waiting for us in the restaurant. Very welcome indeed. We were a party of 2 adults 2 senior citizens and one 4 year old. The rooms were great (probably best to have sea view though) ours was of the hotel opposite still pleasant though as we had pine trees outside.
The food for the first couple of days was great but tended to go down hill after that, could have been as hotel was getting rather busy. Not much choice. Great for kids though as they had their own buffet at the bottom of the restaurant. If this hotel was to cater better then it would surely be worth a 4*, but unfortunately the food did let it down. Avoid the squid in batter as i was bad for a full day after eating it and spent most of the following day in bed. Snacks are available form the hotel opposite at the pool. These were very good.
Avoid the coffee in the restaurant as it is very strong and bitter, better to go to lounge area as theirs is very creamy bit like cappuccino. Staff were very friendly most seem to be students from both Spain and Britain.
Children’s club was okay but our child was a bit young for the activities they had at the time. we did notice a children’s play area inside the hotel but this was not open. there is a good park for the children and the pools are great as well. there is a life guard on each pool so at least you know your kids are safe and you can relax a bit more.
The beach is fantastic, not too small/big and the sea is a beautiful turquoise colour. The fish swim around your legs and ankles as you wade out. Just beware of kids looking for hermit crabs as they will throw them back in at the end of the day so watch your feet!!
Hotel caters for French, German, English, and Spanish guests.
There are some great shops 2 mins walk away from hotel in Cala Egos and you can get a taxi for 5 euros to the main shopping town of Cala d Or. The main shops (boutiques) do close for siesta between 12.30 and 4.00 pm so be aware of this. there is also a train which will take you into main town unfortunately the day we wanted it, it did not turn up.
They do have a room for people to change at the end of the day if you have a night time flight, free of charge but you do have to wait until other people have finished showering. they will supply towels as well for your shower. Remember to take your shower gel with you though.
I would recommend this hotel to all ages and would definitely go back again. One of the best hotels we have stayed in and probably one of the best resorts in Mallorca. Beautiful scenery.

I can quite easily say that mine and my husbands holiday at the Hotel Marina Skorpios was one of our best holidays EVER. we were there 2 years ago and we could not go as it was fully booked. we were delighted when we managed to get there this year.
The hotel was excellent, the food fantastic
and we want to go back again.
The hotel and beautiful adjoining beach were full of young couples, old couples, groups of men and groups of women. The hotel, beach and resort were ideal for all. The nearby town of Cala Egos was literally a short walk from the hotel, with many bars, shops, etc.
First Choice, however, will not be featuring this holiday again so any tips on how to get back there via a tour operator would be gratefully received. (Would rather not book the hotel and flights separately.)
I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

I can quite easily say that my holiday at the Hotel Marina Skorpios was one of my best holidays EVER. The hotel was excellent, the food fantastic and my wife and two young daughters absolutely loved it.
My brother, his wife and my parents all came all along as well - and we all want to go back again.
Although I went with my entire family, the hotel and beautiful adjoining beach were full of young couples, old couples, groups of men and groups of women. The hotel, beach and resort were ideal for all. The nearby town of Cala Egos was literally a short walk from the hotel, with many bars, shops, etc.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Due to family life and not having much money, I hadn’t been abroad for six years - and I now realise what I have been been missing.

This was our first holiday at this Hotel but it will not be our last.
The cleanliness of the rooms and the Hotel is exceptional, the staff are friendly and the overall atmosphere in the Hotel is excellent.
The sandy cove directly next to the beach is perfect for young children and the pool area, which reassuringly always has a lifeguard on duty, is very clean.
There was a wide variety of food served daily, all of which was excellent.
Overall I cannot fault the Hotel, and I will holiday here again. The only drawback is perhaps the Hotels location from the airport which is approx 1hr 45 mins travelling on a very windy road, however when you arrive at the Hotel the journey is worth it.

Went with three sons 20/27/30, daughter-in-law, grandson 14months, and husband.
Staff really friendly and helpful. Food better in the Corfu as were the restaurant staff, stayed in the Skorpios, room good, cleaned every day, towels changed also daily.
Food on the beach bar not so well but did improve as the week went by, only snacks. Was happy to stay on the resort although sons wanted to venture out.
They ate at the Shanghai Chinese in Cala Dor and said it was excellent quite lively in town, lots of bars eateries, taxi about 5.50 Euros.
Local bar Sparkles open until 4 am Karaoke, live music very friendly, hotel staff hang out there after work. Lovely beach/cove between hotels.
Transfers were prompt, basic flight snacks/ drinks available, very happy overall, definitely worth a visit only cost £2000.
