Prati Hotel

My sister and me knew we had made a terrible mistake before we checked into this hotel. This place was located in a bad area. I was nearly mugged in front of the hotel. The staff was not very friendly nor helpful and spoke very little if any english. Our room/apartment doubled as a storage area. There were boxes, old furniture and broken appliances stored in our room/apartment and there were dirty sheets left on one of the chairs. Very central but the area is full of rubbish with rats. High police profile and crowds makes the area feel safe up to 10pm but one ugly incident with six police cars took place outside the hotel. Hotel rates as only one star and nobody speaks english. Room and shower dirty and in need of D.I.Y. Small T.V only has only BBC world in english. I have to say do not stay here. I booked 4 nights in this hotel for me and my girlfriend at the start of a 12 night stay in Italy. Luckily we were out and about most of the time and did not have to spend much time at this place. I booked it in advance and had not seen the recent reviews of the place on here which are amazingly accurate - especially as far as the bugs are concerned. The Hotel Prati in Naples is a hotels "hotel" and was recommended. The hotel is just mediocre and for a mediocre hotel the price is very high. After one night, I checked out and went across the street to The Plaza which is much more modern and cleaner and with much better customer service. The price was considerably less expensive. I recommend The Plaza in Naples and not The Hotel Prati.

This hotel is best described as a bed bug infested hole in the wall with deceptive pictures all over the web that DO NOT in ANY WAY represent the actual hotel. It is the WORST hotel that I have ever stayed in. We thought we were going to be staying in the quaint hotel with charming rooms, as depicted by pictures, and we received anything but. This was the worst experience I've ever had. The hotel site claimed to be near the train station, soundproof and having a multilingual staff. It was in a dangerous & dirty neighborhood, blocks away from the train station, dirty(with bugs or who knows what that caused rashes on us), noisy and if only speaking Italian is considered "multilingual" I'd like to see which dictionary they find that in. Very disappointing stay in the hotel as a result of extremely misleading information on the hotel site. The location is handy for the railway station but certainly not in a pleasant area. The rooms were adequate but there were no seats which would not have been a problem if the "bar/lounge" had ever been open. It is not a bar lounge as such. I think most Hotels on the Bowery would give the Hotel Prati a run for thier money. The Hotel is not in the best of locations, but not terrible either. Good for exploring the city, because you want to get out of the area. I believe prison guards are more cheerful and attentive than the staff. The resturant appears to open for the staff to eat, but not the actual guests. Very disappointing 4 night stay. Most of the hotel was being used by students who stayed up most of the night. We arrived fairly late in the evening, looking forward to sampling the "The charming hotel restaurant, Masamiello that satisfies the finest of palates" as advertised. I was very disappointed in my stay at the Hotel Prati. I'm usually a budget traveller and have stayed in some bad places, but this one was too bad.Positive: the room was clean and not too cramped.Negative: rotten/frightening neighborhood, elevator floor boards were loose (made for a fun ride), room: lumpy matress, stained sheets, distgusting towels (didn't even want to touch them), broken TV remote, noisy, our shower drain didn't work so the room flooded, and worst: it was overpriced.
