Club Cala Domingos Apartments

Just returned from 2 weeks at Cala Domingos & myself. My partner & 7 year old son loved every minute.
Was allocated our apartment on arrival and it was HUGE- very pleased and no complaints there. Apartments are situated on an uphill road but it was no struggle for us and the area was so quiet, so got lots of sleep at night time.
The pools are brilliant - plenty for kids to do if round by the pool in the daytime as Reps get them involved in games - or there is a play area and sand sports pitch - that’s if you can keep them out of the water! Always managed to get sun beds & it never got overcrowded which was great. Also a poolside bar selling alcohol & food which was also very handy!
Kids club was great - and some days there were three sessions of 2 hours so you could get 6 hours peace if you needed it - but didn’t see much of our 7 year old anyway as in the daytime he was round pool or taking part in activities and at night he was watching the shows & entertainment by the reps- dancing - in TV room or games room! But the kids club reps were very good & very friendly & there is a separate kids club building.
Didn't eat much in the complex only the first night and the food was ok - every other night as we just trotted the 400m across the beach or there is a path if you walk down the road to the town where there are a variety of pubs & restaurants, and two play areas for kids with bouncy castles, trampolines cars & rides. We also enjoyed the crazy golf (2 of them) I don't know why people complain about this walk as it is not a problem at all. Ok it may be a little up hill but just have a beer when you get to the top! The resort is not big but ideal if you don't want to be in hustle & bustle as so relaxed. Maybe it would be less so in high season but when we went it was perfect.
All in all great holiday and are considering going back next year as it was so relaxing.

Having just returned from Calas de Domingos we were very disappointed and certainly would not recommend for young children.
The entertainment was very poor with really only one of the reps having any talent! Even though the apartments was supposed to be full there was never more than about 50 people in the lounge in the evening. The food was ok but got very boring and it was a trek to the town, only English food on the menu.
It's a good 20minutes walk to the town uphill. totally unsuitable for anyone with walking difficulties or who suffers from asthma.
The apartments are very nice all individual but we had to ask 4 times for our welcome pack before we finally got it The toaster didn't work and even though we reported it 3 times still wasn't working when we left 2 weeks later.
It was a shame as the flights both there and back were great and the staff very friendly.

The rooms were very clean and big, it was a bit of a walk as our room was at top, i went on an college trip with other students around 17 to 18, we found the town ok but there wasn’t much for teenagers.
The food at the apt was very basic so we eat out most nights, the rock cola bar was very good as their happy hour is all night every night. The pool at the apartment was very big and clean, as the weather was nice the overall holiday was very good.

We arrived early hours and was welcomed with a carton of milk and a map of where apartment was based. Bit of a trek up a hill but not as bad as expected. Apartment was beautiful, clean, very spacious. TV, microwave, hairdryer in bathroom etc.
Pool area was lovely, plenty of room and no problem getting sun loungers. Poolside bar served food all day, bit basic but nice. Nice eating area and everything needed to hand.
Pool for kids excellent. Baby pool perfect. Lots of activities during day for adults and children. Kids clubs great , only complaint having to pay 10 euros for under 3's.
Reps always available as are hotel staff, very friendly and helpful. Supermarket located next to reception sell everything from toys to food, fairly cheap.
Evening entertainment targeted mainly at children which we wanted and was very good fun, kids loved it. Adult entertainment ok, not as good as we expected though.
Restaurant ok, preferred to eat in local town.
Bit of a trek to town, we had pushchairs so walked up road and up a hill. Don’t pay for a taxi as walking only takes 10 mins. Take a torch if coming back late as pitch black and quite scary. Local town very English, all shops selling same stuff. Chinese restaurant was good as was karaoke bar.
Would definitely recommend to families with small children.
Beach fairly small but really nice. Overall a great holiday and didn’t want to come home.

Apartments quite large and spacious, but some were at the top of the hill away from main complex area, quite a walk after a few beers. Quiet and clean, although the maids do not clean apartment or change beds as often as stated in the brochure.
The entertainment team Gareth, Donna and Lyndsey keep all ages occupied, both during the day with pool games, water polo, football etc, and in the evening with shows and quizzes. there is also a daily quiz for money, which is worth winning.
Pool is quite large, with a smaller pool which is deeper. Enough sun beds if you are up before about 10.00 am.
Food during the day is very basic, but cheap. Evening food is not much better. We preferred to eat out at night in the local resort. Although, this is across the beach and up some steps, which is a pain sometimes. Local resort very 'British', but also very cheap to eat and drink there.
Overall, excellent place for a holiday if you have younger children, although not much for over 14 years old as we found out. Cheapest holiday we have had for about five years, came back with loads of money.
Would recommend especially for the entertainment team.

Apartments were spacious and clean, with good maid service. Decent pool but surrounding area a bit slippery for Children.
Evening entertainment was good - well the adults liked it, but the teenage boys in our party weren’t really impressed. There wasn’t a great deal for their age range (13 and 14) in and around the resort, we felt it was better suited for younger children. plenty of kids club action for them.
Pleasant walk to the town, and easy access to other areas via bus. Bus from the town drops off right outside Caves of Drach.
You can go there by glass bottom boat but it was a hot walk for our boys from Porto Cristo town to the caves. Cala Milor worth visiting for the banana boat, parasailing and jet skis. Cala D'Or has several different beaches and pedaloes with slides.
Eating out cheaper than in England although not a wide choice. Pizzeria D'Alfil was slightly more expensive but worth the extra.
