Excellent package from the price breakers brochure. Landed up at Aminta, which on the whole was an excellent four star hotel. Somewhat out of town but getting down into Sorrento is no trouble for the active, and buses are very regular if you can’t be bothered to wait for... more

Wonderful Holiday at the Aminta Hotel from A TripAdvisor Member
On the 16 September my friend and I went to the Aminta for the start of a 2 centre holiday. We loved every minute at the Aminta. Our luggage was taken up to our room by very friendly porters when we arrived. The bar and resturant staff were very nice and had obvisously been well trained in their job.It was a pleasure going into the dining room. The food was always nice and piping hot. Our room- well that was something! when we opened the shutters and saw the view it really made our holiday. I took so many photos to show our friends back home. We want to go back to the Aminta as soon as possible but to stay for 2 weeks this time.

Hello to All My husband and I have just returned from a week at your hotel on the 24th September 2004. I can honestly say it was one of the best holidays we had. The hotel accommodation was lovely, the view from our balcony was more than we could have imagined, our room was spacious and was kept very well all week. The food and service in the restaurant was fantastic. We had a lovely bottle of champagne left in our room because we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, which I can tell you we enjoyed very much, and many thanks for that. Overall a superb hotel and staff, and thank you all for making our visit to Sorrento so lovely. Just to add there is loads of trips to do in and around Sorrento. Thanks again. Jacque Kierans Ireland

we had a wonderful relaxed week with fantastic food great weather and the best view of sorrento, bay of naples, mount vesuvius ,capri etc. i dont think there is any where else on the face of the earth that can offer such a friendly well polish professional service from the reception, waiters & all hotel amintas staff the rooms are beautiful well furnished extremely clean and remain that way for you stay will go back next year

Welcome to everyone at the Aminta. We recently returned home on the 10th September after a weeks holiday. Everything about the holiday was perfect and we certainly plan to return next year. The friendly staff, good food and the magnificent views from our room made it very special. All the guests we met were very friendly and all sang the praises for the hotel and staff. Fabulous Holiday from Jacol
Just returned from a wonderful week at the Hotel Aminta (3 - 10 September). The weather was fantastic and after days spent visiting Pompeii, Positano, Amalfi, Capri, etc, the Aminta was a little haven of peace and tranquility to return to. The hotel is delightful, both clean and stylish, and all the staff are friendly and helpful. After a delicious dinner, taken in either the air-conditioned dining room or on the terrace, we could relax in wicker armchairs and settees on the terrace overlooking the amazing view of all the lights around the Bay of Naples. Heaven! Our sons of 22 and 18 came with us, as they particularly wanted to see Pompeii, and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience too. They also loved the food, and the internet booth and Sky Cinema were an added advantage. They thought nothing of walking down the steep path into Sorrento and back, although we preferred to take the hotel bus, as there was enough walking to be done on our sightseeing trips! Thank you to everyone at the Aminta for making our stay so pleasurable, we will definitely be recommending you. Colin and Jackie Baker

We had read the reviews of the hotel before we arrived, and wondered if they would be accurate. I'm pleased to say that we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Everything was pretty much spot on. The terrace is brilliant for relaxing and drinking in those special veiws of Sorrento, Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. The staff are friendly and professional, the rooms are very clean and spacious. Brilliant choice of food and the service is excellent. Seating for couples is at shared tables allocated by the hotel which is ok if you are paired with a couple you really get on with as we were - luckily, if you're on honeymoon for example you may want to request your own table when booking. The Aminta is set high up above Sorrento, about 2 miles out, however, there is a frequent shuttle bus service. We had room at the front of the hotel which had views over the peninsula and hills. New double glazing means that the road and rural noises (goats etc) were not a problem and this side gets the afternoon sun on the balcony and the sunsets. Rooms at the back of the hotel have the stunning views of the pool area with Sorrento, Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples beyond. Stan & Sue 10/09/2004

We enjoyed a super holiday, all staff were excellent, professional and extremely friendly. I n fact we felt more like friends than as guests. The views from the rooms, resteraunt, and terrace were absolutely beautiful with views over the whole of Naples Bay and especially Vesuvius. The resteraunt served superb food, catering for veggies and non veggies alike, with truely remarkable service. The walks from the hotel to local villages were lovely and fully enjoyed.

The Aminta is a wonderful hotel set in the hills above Sorrento with magnificent views across the Bay of Naples. We have just returned from our fourth consecutive visit to the Aminta and the experience there gets better and better. The hotel has undergone recent refurbishments and the improvements really stand out, particularly the painting of the outside of the building, and the updating of the bedrooms. Our room in particular was superb and once again, we had a wonderful time and it really was like going home. The food in the restaurant was again very good with the a la carte menu proving very tempting. The hotel is about a ten minute bus ride out of town, but there is a regular courtesy bus (which from memory now runs in each direction eight or nine times a day – another recent enhancement to the service at the hotel). This won't suit everyine of course, but for my money, the bus journey is worth it to be able to benefit from everything that Sorrento has to offer whilst being able to return to the peace and quiet and relaxing ambience that the Aminta provides. I found the criticisms of the staff in earlier reviews astonishing and totally unjustified and that is what prompted me to write a review. On the contrary, everyone at the hotel is completely committed to service and to making the holiday experience a carefree and enjoyable one. The efforts of everyone at the hotel are always much appreciated by us and there are too many to mention here. But we are always impressed by the efforts of the member of staff that looks after the pool (which is consistently the cleanest I have experienced anywhere), all the reception, bar and restaurant staff and the maid who performed miracles in cleaning our room every day! All in all, I cannot recommend this Hotel highly enough.
