Almudaina Hotel

Stayed 3 nights end of March 07. £230. Good location in town centre. 8th floor room had rather good view of cathedral and sea. Roof garden pleasant with good view but seemingly unused. Pleasant modern good-sized room. Comfy bed. Good shower. Buffet breakfast very good. Hot croissants. Staff friendly. Has the feel of a pleasant business hotel.

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. We were allocated a large and very quiet triple room on floor seven at the back of the hotel with a fantastic view of the cathedral and port. I would suspect rooms at the front may be noisy from during the day from traffic. The room was exceptionally clean and staff very friendly - especially at breakfast (which was very good). First of all, this hotel is in a fab location. It's next door to a department store and in the same street as many shops such as mango and c&a aswell as being within walking distance to many main attractions. The bedrooms were extremely clean, spacious and modern with laminate flooring, comfortable beds and tons of storage space. The bathroom also had plenty of hot water. We stayed for 8 nights in late January. Having read previous reviews, we requested an eighth floor superior room with a balcony. On arrival we were given a room on the sixth floor as those on the eighth have no balconies. A perfectly adequate room, although we suspected that the desk had been replaced by a minibar. After reading good reports about hotel Almudaina in Palma, we decided to book in September 2006 but what a disappointment, The room which we were allocated was very basic even having paid extra for a superior room, the room had a connecting door to the next room, the door was half broken obviously someone had tried to break in, very unsafe. Bathroom very cramped and having a strong smell of urine. Reception staff very unfriendly. But if someone is not to choosy about their accommodation and wanting a good location this... more

I stayed for 2 nights at the Hotel Almudaina during the Mayday weekend at a very reasonable rate of 96 euros a night. A trip from the airport to the hotel which is right smack in the middle of the Avenue Jaume III will cost approximately 17euros (the number 1 airport bus stop is just 5 minutes away, if you have light luggage and chance upon the bus stop across the road from the HM Jaime III hotel which costs 1.85 euros!). Are there really 43 better hotels than this one in Palma? Or more to the point, do they all offer better value for money than this one? After a two-night stay (April 11 to 13, 2006) on the recommendation of friends who were there last October, we really doubt that. Maybe Trip Advisor's single system of categorisation is at fault, although this site deserves full praise for its general usefulness as we know from previous experiences with it. We stayed at Almudaina Hotel for 6 nights, located right on the "Michigan Avenue" of Palma de Mallorca. Plenty to do nearby, good restaurant district within a 5 minute walk. The Cathedral and museum are within a 10 minute walk, 25 minutes to the train station. The front desk was very helpful getting checked in and when we had questions regarding taxi cabs and bus service. Included breakfast wasn't too exciting, bread, meats, cheeses, yogurt, fruit and muffins. From previous reviews we requested a room at the back of the hotel.... more

Very centrally located, but noisy if your room overlooks the calle Jaime III: better to go for a back facing option. Rooms are reasonably sized and clean. Very nice breakfast. Excellent value for money; recommended for business travellers.

Just come back from a 3 day visit to Palma and stayed in this hotel, which is located on Avenue Jamie III, close to the shops, restuarants, cathedral and marina. Clean, comfortable hotel, good hot buffet breakfast with pleasant, friendly staff and clean rooms. Only down side was the traffic noise, which lasted into the early hours. I would recommend this hotel even with the traffic noise as the location was very good. It was full for the first two days of our visit, which in itself speaks volumes.
