We had a pleasant room overlooking the lake and mountains, delightful to sit on the balcony and watch the sun set.
Everything about this hotel is first class, the service, room, food, location and staff were all excellent.
In fact it was so good we are going back, which with so much to see in the world, breaks one of my golden rules.
The area is extremely attractive with the combination of lakes and mountains giving great views. There is a train and lift up to two of the best view points, take lots of film.
Local transport (bus and lake ferries) are OK but a car would be better to get the best from the area.
As with many Austrian Hotels there are wellness and leisure facilities which are a little quirky in this hotel.
The outdoor pool is built in to a pier that juts out into the lake and is kept and 30 degrees (unlike the lake which is significantly colder in May).
One of the saunas is on the third floor and has a picture window so that you can relax whilst looking out over the magnificent views of the Salzkammergut.
