After reading some peoples bad reports of Irini studios I am pleased to say that they didn't go at the same time as us. We found Christos,Irini and their family very pleasant and helpful. Christos sorted us out with hire car at a much lower price than anybody else and his bar-b-q nights were brilliant. It was one of the friendliest places we have ever been to,and we have visited many Greek islands and this was the !st to mainland. We are back again next year along with our friends,we talked them in to it!! Didn't take much persuassion after showing them our photo's.

This was our second visit to Parga, and it is definitely unique. This year we were able to see the festival and the celebrations by the locals.
On our first visit we stayed at Lambrini Studios (next door to Irini sharing the pool etc) this time we stayed at Irini and I have to say that Irini Studios are probably the best accomodation in Parga. The studio was well equipped with a proper kettle, small 3 ring cooker with oven and grill, safety deposit box (€15 per 2 weeks) and air conditioning
(€70 per 2 weeks). August is hot and it was well worth paying for). The balconies on the top floor have a sea view (could be better if a few rouge trees went missing) and on a clear day Paxos is clearly visible on the horizon.n The studios were cleaned daily and the bedding and towels were chaged regularly.
Christos, Irini & the family were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much for them. The pool bar catered for all tastes in both food and drink and Christos was perfectly happy to alter items on the menu to suit dietry requirements.
The pool and surrounding area are kept imaculatly clean and Christos maintains the pool to a very high standard. There are some rules but they are for the benefit of all!The pool side was quiet and relaxing. For those that want to make noise there are several good beaches that will cater for all tastes.
On friday nights there is a tradional Greek night (food and dancing). Christos was an absoute star along with his youngest daughter getting everyone up to dance (even the shy ones). There was traditional Greek music followed by requested Disco music.
We are hoping return to Irini next year and maybe we will met up with some more of the regular visitors.
Well done Christos, keep up the good work!
Once again many thanks
Kim & Mel

Once again Christos, Irini and their lovely family have provided first class hospitality. Irini are the cleanest apartments, with the best pool and bar areas in Greece. I can also recommend Irini's meatballs, they're out of this world!!!
Christos and Irini's family are a credit to them; polite, hard working, happy and a very close unit.
My husband had tonsilitis during our second week and Christos kindly went to the chemist and brought something back to ease the pain. Thanks to Christos my husband was able to enjoy the rest of his holiday.
The weekly BBQ is fantastic value and a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones too. The food is excellent and the dancing (which isn't compulsary) is lots of fun, some Greek music but also lots of 60's and 70's stuff to finish off the evening.
Best restaurants this year for us were Perivoli (behind Irini Studios), La Barca, two doors down from The Scorpio bar, Filamila on the road above the castle and Zorba's is also very good.
A big 'thank you!' to all the people who have written negative reports about Christos. Your absence (and that of your lilos and rubber rings) certainly enhanced the enjoyment of our holiday no end! Am I alone, or does the blatent inability of some Brits to read and abide by pool safety rules leave other people speechless too?
AN EVEN BIGGER THANK YOU to all the old and new friends we've spent the last two weeks with (you know who you are).
If you're contemplating a first visit to Parga and you're reading these reviews for reassurance, TAKE THE PLUNGE! The fact that the majority of us go back to Irini repeatedly ... even people who "never go to the same place twice! ;-)) tells you all you need to know!
Keep up the good work Christos & Irini, we hope to be back next year.

Jul 2008, Ms Nasia Doherty

That was the first time to Skiathos. I had visited Skopelos last year and this year we decided to go and see Skiathos. Very very very beautiful island...
I booked an apartment through the internet and although I wasn't sure about my choice... I had a very nice and relaxing week. Irinis House is very close to the beach and the town. I would reccommend it to everyone who would like during the holidays feel like home. I might go back with my family in the middle of September. If anybody needs any further information i just tell him to try Skiathos and this apartment...
thank you
Nasia D.

After reading the reviews before visiting the Irini Studios we too were a little dubious, but all we can say is that when we visit Parga again the only place we will consider staying is Irini Studios, Christos and the family work so hard to make sure everyone has a good holiday, as for the inflatables in the pool, I for one do not want to have to keep swimming round them.

Very good holiday in very good...

Very good holiday in very good accommodation. Worth having air conditioning in any room above ground level. At € 70 for the fortnight it represents good value and could be uncomfortable without it. Rooms with small kitchen/diner and a balcony on everyone are more than adequate. The sun hits the balcony in the afternoon and can get very hot.
A bit of trek from the town centre especially if it's hot. A twenty five minute stroll along the unsheltered main road on an unfinished pavement is not overly pleasant in the midday (2pm) sun, it was 42 degrees shade temperature when we were there. The back way is shorter by about five minutes and has some shade but the last 100 yards coming back from town is slightly up hill, dusty and not what you need in that sort of heat. There isn't much in the way of watering holes between Irini and town and this seemed to lengthen the trip a little.
Christos and family are absolutely charming and Christos is always ready with advice and assistance. All you have to do is ask and he can't do enough for you. He is dry but get beyond that and he is an excellent host and in reality quite funny in a cheeky way. You make the effort and he will reciprocate. The Greek night is very good but too much food (for me). I hate to waste good food.
Excellent pool, not one of the standard rectangles, and probably just about enough sun-beds. It always has shaded bits depending on the time of day so there is no need to fry if you don't want to.
The bar is good and the snacks are simple but well cooked and generous in their portions. We never had a problem getting a drink at 1 or 2 am but we had probably been there since midnight (ish).
Parga itself is a fairly standard tourist town with decent but not exceptional restaurants and bars. There are many of both and it's probably a matter of luck whether you find the better ones or not.
An uphill stroll to the Venetian castle (15 - 20 minutes from the front depending on your legs and the temperature) is worth the walk and there is a bar in the castle, or you could continue on down hill to Voltos beach in about another 15 minutes bearing in mind that it is up hill coming back. A walk through the olive groves to Lithnos beach is also worth the trek (about 45 - 60 minutes). A reasonably priced (€ 5) boat from Lithnos beach takes you back to the front in Parga.
The little train to Ali Pasha's castle is good value at € 8 per person return. It's worth considering leaving the train on the way back at the village of Anthousa and walking to Voltos beach (about 1 hour at a gentle stroll).

I am really pleased that Christos has 'got his act together' this year; it has saved a lot of people having the holiday experience we had last year. I can only wonder if he has been made aware of some of the comments from last year (his comments total is 15, others average 2) or perhaps his 'regulars/pool mafia' have come to the rescue. Either way, things seem to have improved which is a good thing because his wife and family are lovely. After visiting two different Greek locations this year, Parga is still our favourite and we will definitely return. Happy holidays to everyone.

Aug 2007, Mr I Symes

We (two adults and two children 13 and 10) have just come back from two fabulous weeks staying at the Irini Studios in Parga.
The apartments were very clean, well maintained and provided a good standard of self catering accommodation. The pool and bar areas were exceptionally clean, with the pool water being very warm. NO problems getting a sunbed at any time of day, no silly race for sunbeds first thing in the morning like bigger hotels that we have been to. This was great if you had a late night or had been on a trip as you could just wander down to the pool and find a sunbed when you wanted to.
The apartments are on a road which is about a 15 minute walk into the resort centre. This was a concern for us before we went, but found that it was an easy stroll and was nowhere near as bad as some of the other reports. There is a pavement and lighting being installed at the moment which will make the walk even more pleasant.
AND NOW to the subject of Christos and his family, if you are looking for a holiday where the atmosphere is laid back and friendly and very relaxed, this is the place to go!! Christos is never in your face, but he is very willing to give help and advice and to chat if you approach him. On one occasion we were waiting for a taxi with our shopping and beach stuff when Christos rode past on his moped. He stopped and explained that it was during the siesta and the wrong time to expect a taxi, he loaded up all of our bags on his moped and took them back for us. On another occasion he gave us great advice about the medical centre and saved us loads of Euros!!!.
We spent most evenings in the beautiful town of Parga and never found any problems when going back for a drink at the Irini's bar.
The Irinis Greek night was very entertaining. The food served at the bar was very good and certainly good value for money.
This is a great resort if you want traditional Greece, that is quiet, relaxed, but also has enough going on for families and couples during the evenings. The tavernas and bars serve very good food and in restaurants like Bachos usually with a very big plate full !!
There are no big hotels, no English/Irish pubs, no happy hours, no McDonalds, no big Sky Sports bars --- just authentic Greek faire and hospitality. If you are looking for noisy pubs and clubs, drunk and disorderly behaviour - then this resort is not for you.
We lost count of the amount of people we bumped into who had been to Parga and to the Irini Studios before, some people were on their fifth or sixth visits. We will certainly be joining this happy band and will be booking the Irini Studios for our next years holiday.

Jul 2007, Mr MW Ambridge

I was amazed to read some of the comments about the Irini.
My wife and I found Christos and his family excellent hosts and no we did not spend all night at his bar.
The apartments are cleaned every day as is the pool. Yes Christos does have strict rules around the pool which I personally think is a good thing. If you want pools with inflatables go to butlins . Me I preferred the peace and Quiet.
Christos could not do enough for people and most people we spoke to were on their third or fourth visit to the Irini.
Still look on the bright side all those people who did not like it there will not go back and that will make it easier for me to get booked in again next year.

Jul 2007, Miss C Manton

We visited Parga and stayed at the Irini studios and it was wonderful. The people were friendly, the food at the weekly barbecue was fantastic and the apartments were spotless. The walk back to Irini from Parga was dangerous on the main road, but we quickly found a back way right next to Irini. The negative comments from other reviewers regarding the road and the lack of lights, well, that is why the brochure tells you to take a torch!
There were also local taxis in Parga which only charged 4 euros back to Irini, which is nothing, that wouldn't get you a taxi in this country.
Parga itself was wonderful and Valtos beach is lovely, if somewhat a hard place on your calves to get to!
Would definitely go back again and very most likely stay in Irini studios.

Jul 2007, Mr B Elsender

Have just returned from 2 weeks at Irini studios. Went with some concerns having read other reviews but found them totally unfounded.
Studios were some of the cleanest and best we have stayed in, in Greece over the last nine years. Christos was a very helpful chap.
On arrival we asked to hire air con (70euro per fortnight) only to be told by him to wait and see if we needed it first as our studios were low floor and kept cooler. We found that we did not need it and he had saved us the expense!
That shows he is not just out to take your money! He was very helpful when we told him we were hiring a car for a couple of days and told us of places of interest worth visiting and gave us directions which saved us loads of time. Found both Christos and Irini seemed to want people to enjoy their holiday to the full and tried to help in any way they could.
Studios are well equipped with rings, oven, fridge, and kettle. Separate kitchen area was a bonus. Shower room with NO broken tiles - a first for us in Greece. Bed linen and towels changed regularly.
Pool area is kept spotlessly clean with plenty of sun beds and parasols. Irini 'Greek Night' on a Friday is well worth the money for the excellent food and plenty of wine. Supermarkets 10 min walk away but don't bother carrying 6 packs water back to the studios as Christos will sell you one for about the same price.
Some comments have been left about the noise but we didn't find it a nuisance. There is a dog somewhere nearby but it isn't out all night. As for road noise it is only the normal traffic noise the same as anywhere else.
At present they are laying a pavement at either side of the main road which means it is safer now to walk that way into town. If you prefer there is a track which runs the back way into the town which avoids the traffic.
Parga is a wonderful holiday resort. Town beach (15 mins) is busy but Valtos beach is much bigger and not as packed. It is worth the walk up the hill past the castle and down into Valtos bay. Another decent beach is Lichnos which can be reached via a walk through the olive groves (not for the unfit as it is very steep in places!!) or on the water taxi from Parga harbour 8 euro per person return fare. We phoned for a normal taxi which was 6 euro each way.
Plenty of good eateries and tavernas in Parga. Paravoli and Dionysos if you like big plates of food. Our favourite was Dokos on the main road which served genuine Greek cuisine.
Mum Dokos did most of the cooking and there was definitely no frozen pre cooked moussaka here! Some of the traditional meals such as pastitsio were made to order so if you ask the day before, Don will arrange for Mum to make one. Also try her home made Baklava. Yum Yum.
Preveza airport surprised us. As it is a military base we expected it to be very basic but found the amenities were more than adequate with snack bar and duty free etc. We were told by someone who had been before to check our luggage in and then go back out of the building as there are two tavernas outside which served food and drink and you can sit in the shade and watch your plane come in! Better than cooped up indoors.
Enjoy Irini and Parga. We certainly did.
