Comfort Suites Universal Hotel

Our family stayed at this hotel from June 3-June 10, 2006. We came to visit family and go to the many attractions nearby. The hotel staff is very friendly. The room was clean and spacious with plenty of space for everything. My husband and I traveled with 3 children (5, 12, 16) and they enjoyed it as well. The beds were comfortable and queen size instead of the usual double ( the sofabed is not the best ) and all of the appliances worked well. The staff gave us directions to Wal-Mart and Target. My family and I stayed here from May 31st to June 2nd and had a wonderful time.....No problems at all with check-in or any other services offered at the hotel. I felt the rooms were spacious, even though we were not in there very often. The pool has a nice secluded feel to it, you are not right out in sight while swimming, which I feel is a very nice feature. I visit Orlando every year and this was one of the best hotels I have stayed at in awhile. Upon arrival to the room found that the AC did not blow cool air and it was already 90 degrees outside. I called the front desk and got immediate response. Maintenance arrived within 5 minutes and fixed it. Had freezing cold air the rest of the stay. The breakfast was great every morning. The regular price for the room was alittle high, but I got a great deal on it. Found a one day special for more than half the price off.

We enjoyed staying here very much. Great staff - took five minutes and we were in our room - 15 and on the way to Universal. Dont' try to walk to the park, much further than half-mile. Suttles from Sleep Inn (across the street) run 3 times to the park and 3 times returning, and they're free. Mears Transportation did a great job getting us from the airport to the hotel and were prompt in picking us up at 5:30 a.m. for our return flight. Nice size rooms for family of four. Pool was being repaired but could walk next door and use the Sleep Inn pool. Close to Universal Studios, not a great shuttle schedule. Good location for dining, entertainment, etc. Would recommend.

My family and I stayed at the Comfort Suites on Majors Blvd in Orlando in Nov, '05. It is across the street from the entrance to Universal Studios. The place was immaculate! The pool and jacuzzi were great. The pool was warm and they were both spotless and we pretty much had them to ourselves every day. The staff was wonderful. For our family of 6 the Comfort Inn Universal worked out better than expected. Here's a quick list of positives: Very close to Universal and with a shuttle. Inexpensive - $68/night (In November) Suite had sleeping space for our family of 6 (2 queens and a fold out couch) and the hotel allowed us to have that many in the room (many other places require a second room if you have more than 5 people). Arrived 4pm staff could not find my pre booked reservation from the UK. Computers then went down on front desk despite having a front desk supervisor, manager and a greetings co-ordinator it took 25 minuites to check in with surly staff who were too concerned with their own issues to bother with customers. It would have been nice to have been offered a coffee or indeed an explanation but none were forthcoming. Rooms leave a lot to be desired. They badly need a remodel and paint job. When we first arrived we were so happy with this place. It had cathedral ceilings and was very roomy, clean, and quiet. However on our second day there houskeeping threw away our bag of food and supplies! When we spoke with the nighttime front desk man he was very snippy and told us to fill out a comment card. The next morning we spoke with the front desk lady, who was very nice. They tried to locate our bag but were unsuccessfull. Because of the missing bag they didn't charge us for one night. we stayed at this hotel from the 1st to the 15th september and were pleased with the service given .Our room was large and clean,no bugs,and contained two double beds which were really comfy also a tv,microwave and fridge.The maid came every day with fresh towels and kept our room clean.Breakfast was ok with fresh fruit ,cereal ,toast ,bagles or waffles you could make freshly yourself.At the end of a hectic day this hotel was in an ideal location to unwind,close to i drive but also in a quiet area.Just up the road and without having to cross... more
