Just returned from a three week holiday (September 2011). The hotel was lovely and the staff just so unbelievably friendly. The room had a nice four poster bed and a very large bathroom with all the necessary mod cons. The food was varied and delicious and catered for all tastes. The evening entertainment was super, ranging from African dancers, to acrobats to Masai Warriors chanting and dancing.Indeed, the entertainment was amongst the best that I have ever seen abroad. The Animation team were really friendly and even got me involved in stuff (unheard of for me!). The range of day time activities were a real help and much thought had gone into what was on offer. The gounds lead straight onto the beach which has to be amongst the best in the world..literally. The sand is unbelievable and the water is just clear blue. This beach really is something special and the safari was shockingly good with a brilliant tour guide who really went out of his way. Once you are out of the hotel complex, you will have some very stark reminders that this is a third world country. The people work long long hours in extreme heat, often travelling long distances to work for only £50 per MONTH salary..so, this takes me on to the reality check around the constant begging.
Ok, the not so good. The beach sellers were just onto you the second you ventured onto the beach or out the front of the hotel. They were stood in groups just stairing and waiting to pounce and it was absolutely relentless. They were never aggressive or difficult, but just persistant and a constant. My wife and I just would not bother using the beach because these beach sellers were all over you. That said, every one of them was polite and friendly, but desperate to sell something.

my family and i have just returned from 2wks total luxury. the Diani Sea Lodge was just perfect..clean, a/c rooms (ours was superior with tv, mini fridge and breathtaking sea views)
the rooms were cleaned every day
the meals was of good choice, variety and delicious
the pool was clean
the beach was clean white sand and clear blue ocean
staff was very friendly and had contagious smiles every day (i miss them all)
the animation team was excellent (the beach walks, snake centre trip, village tours was informative and fascinating). although the entertainment stopped around 10pm, you could have a bed time walk to the edge of the beach with the security guards, knowing you could sleep well and safe.
the monkies were cheeky and the beach boys could be persistent, but in all a truly wonderful holiday experience
Kenya,"hakuna matata" = Kenya, no worries :)

We have just returned 31st March 2011 after a wonderful fortnight. The hotel was clean and the food had plenty of choice. The rooms were adequate for anyone's needs, the air-conditioning could have been a bit more efficient. The staff and service was second to non they were polite
and courteous and could not do enough for you. We did not go on any Safari's as we have done quite a few in South Africa but the friends we made, all said they were superb and recommendable. Yes you have the "Boys" on the beach trying to sell you something but they are too polite and you do not
feel threatened in any way, besides they are always security staff on hand to assist. Wonderful rest and a great holiday.

This was the best holiday I have been on. I would 100% recommend this hotel, the hotel was amazing everything anyone needs. I believe that it should be upgraded from a 3* to a 4*.
The hotel grounds are well maintained and looked after, the gardeners are in the gardens picking up the leaves every morning and in the palm trees cutting down coconuts in the afternoon.
The restaurant was lovely, wide range of food on offer to suit everyones tastes. There were even theme nights such a BBQ night while we were there. At lunch time you could grad a bite to each at the beach bar or eat in the restaurant.
Staff are out of this world would do anything to help you, you walk from your room to the pool and about 4 staff memebers have said hello to you, they are so friendly.
All inclusive was VERY good got every drink availble that anyone could wish for. There is a cocktail menu behind the bar they don't get it out regularly so you might have to ask for it.
The evening entertainment was great also the day entertainment. We booked a safari while we were there, we did a day safari in Tesarvo East great safari seen loads of animals. The hotel put breakfast on for us that day at 5 in the morning. They opened it up with two staff members just for us.
I will be going back to Kenya and this hotel probably later on in the year. The best holiday I have been on and I have been to the Maldives.
Defo worth a visit.

Just returned from a short 7 day holiday at Diana Sea Lodge only one word to describe this hotel AMAZING staff from porters to restrauant managers, entertainement staff, Sammy boy and Danny, so friendly food varied and presentation was so good especially the barbeque night, evening entertainment varied and very good i defy anybody not to enjoy this hotel the only thing that could improve this hotel would be tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms and maybe a small fridge My husband ,myself and 25 year old daughter went and the room was more than adequate.the monkeys in the ground although cheeky were very entertaining we will be returning next year for longer. Just like to add we booked a 2 day safari with WT and could not fault this either.
