We have just returned from a week at the Atlantis Las Lomas. (Me and my three children) We can say that we had the best holiday we have ever had.
Yes the apartments are basic but they are comfortable. Mabel, our huge cockroach lived in the bedroom and after a few days we forgot about her. This was probably because she only came out in the dark and we were too tired to notice.
My son and I both had our birthdays while we were there and went out of the resort both days as treats. On his we went to the Aquapark, booked through reception, cheaper than the rep. Good day out, but take a picnic the food is very expensive.
The park was not busy when we first arrived so we went on all the slides without having to queue. Later it got busy and we had to wait to go on everything. On my birthday I hired a car (first time I had driven abroad) and we headed off to Fire Mountain.
The queue of cars down to the entrance of the mountain was about two miles long. But we waited patiently, and after an hour and a half we were let through. Magnificent scenery, awesome views and the demonstrations at the top with the volcano left my children speechless. On the way back we had a camel ride, again thoroughly enjoyable.
Off to El Golfo for a fish lunch then Playa Blanca to see the harbour and ferry come in. Back to the apartments for evening meal then out again to drive up and down the strip, people watching. Puerto Del Carmen rocks!!!

I am a 27 yr old female who went on holiday with my husband and his family.
I found the hotel absolutely exceptional and reading some of these comments in a way makes me quite angry. What do you expect with the amount of money you pay? You are not by any means going to get a luxury 4 star air-conned hotel....
These apartments are clean, the pools and surrounding areas are always being tended to.
Don’t believe everything you read. Atlantis Las Lomas is ideally situated, ok there is a bit of a hill to climb but the pros far outweigh the cons where these apartments are concerned. If you are looking for a cost effective, clean, well-situated hotel, I can only recommend that you book up today.
Having just got back, we have arranged to stay again in September for round 2.

If I had to sum it up in one phrase it would be "you get what you pay for". After all it is only a 2star+ rating. The complex itself is well maintained with the pools being clean and the grounds being kept well. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and problems are dealt with quickly. If there was one criticism it would be that the apartments are looking a little bit tired, with a refurbishment needed on fixtures and fittings, but don’t let this put you off as the location is excellent and its fine for a self catering holiday. I read reports on the net before I went of cockroaches on lower levels, but we stayed for a fortnight and didn’t see one anywhere. stayed Easter 2005, weather fantastic hot and sunny every day.
If you are going to book a trip, book it through reception as they are well organised and will be cheaper than your reps.
Getting your bearings-Puerto Del Carmen. Out of reception turn left, supermarket well stocked and reasonable. Turn right down steep but short hill and beach is right in front of you. On the main strip at bottom of hill turn right to head up to the old part of town(very friendly atmosphere around the old port),or left which takes you up the main strip which is about a mile long. About 70% of properties in this strip are restaurants and bars where full English breakfast is about 2 and a half euros and main meals average between 4 and 12 euros.
My tips are 1). To get your bearings cross to the beach side of the strip and walk up to the end as you get a better feel for the resort and you can see all the bars and restaurants above the street level shops. and 2). go to the old port, much quieter and a more relaxed feeling.(oh and kids there is a McDonalds 10 mins up the strip) have a good holiday.

Booked as a very last minute holiday.
Fantastic value for money, we paid about 230 pounds for a week each - for that we got flights with meals, transfers and a one bedroom apartment.
We were a bit concerned as the apartments are only 2+ stars and we are used to a much higher standard but we were pleasantly surprised. Apartment was clean and freshly painted with new kitchen and reasonably new bathroom. Staff were very friendly. Lovely swimming pool (bit cold in Nov though) plenty of entertainment for the whole family both during the day and evening. Fantastic view from our large balcony. Loads of restaurants and bars nearby mostly very high standard, close to beach but watch out for cardiac hill (there are other ways round but that it the shortest). Only a short walk from lovely harbour area. Although in a central position complex was reasonably quiet.
We would be happy to go back there again.

Have stayed in the Atlantis Las Lomas twice before, once in September 2004, and once in May 2000. Am going again in June 2005.
The apartments are more than what you would expect them to be for a 2* cheap holiday. Your apartment gets cleaned by the cleaner every other day, and they are spacious. The staff there are very friendly, and deal with any problems straight away. The pools are also cleaned every morning and every evening, and are very nice!
The apartments are situated in a very good place, although Cardiac Hill is a bit of a trek! Especially on the way back from the beach or a night out. You are about 100m from the main beach and there are many restaurants and night clubs/bars to choose from. The entertainment provided in Atlantis Las Lomas was also very good, with lots of quizzes and overall family entertainment, Daniel the Clown was a hit with our children! He was a good entertainer and kept the kids busy when we were relaxing by the pool.
Overall, I think Atlantis Las Lomas Apartments were extremely good value for money. Have been there twice already and we are going there again next year! I would definitely recommend this apartment to holidaymakers of every age!

Brilliant place for a holiday!! All the staff are friendly, big swimming pools, good day and night entertainment for adults and children.
The apartments are very clean and are regularly cleaned by the maids, the only problem is the only appliances are a 2 ring cooker a toaster and a kettle but microwaves etc are available to rent.
The beach is just down the hill, which i will admit is not suitable for some people (also known as cardiac hill!).
For people who would prefer to go out and look around the area, there are alot of pubs and clubs (go to big apple its the best) and loads of restaurants and bars to choose from with different types of food available.
There are two towns and atlantis is just in the right place, in the middle of both of them. The new town, which is good is just down the hill and the old town which is also very good is just upthe road.
The aqua park is brilliant for a day out and rancho texas is brilliant for a night out aswel and very good value for money. Lady mucks is also a good place to go for a laugh. Hoping to go back again soon!!

APARTMENTS - Overall basic but just what you expect from a 2* Apartment. Everything you need for a Self-Catering holiday, kettle, toaster, two ring hob, fridge with freezer compartment. Anything else you may require is available to rent. Maid service 3 times a week with regular towel changes. Bed linen changed once a week only downfall.
STAFF - Friendly, helpful and gorgeous. Always have the time of day for you.
POOLS - Cleaned daily with four to choose from what more could you ask for. well maintained with a beautiful fountain.
LOCATION - Situated at the top of a very steep hill (Cardiac Hill) easier to climb when intoxicated.
NIGHT LIFE - Excellent something for everyone, young and old.
RESTAURANTS - Food for everyone’s taste buds, excellent.
SUMMARY - After visiting the same resort for 7 times in the last 6 years and will continue I can guarantee you a fantastic holiday. The resort is a safe destination for all to enjoy.
Weather fantastic all year round.
RECOMMENDS - A visit to the Water Park. Tito's Karaoke Palace and for the young and hip Centro Atlantico especially Big Apple and Paradise.
WELL WORTH A VISIT.

We have recently returned from a holiday in Puerto Del Carmen and I can quite honestly say that we were very disappointed.
We booked this holiday in January of this year and carefully chose our resort and accommodation only to be told by out tour operator 48 hrs before our departure that due to an error on their behalf that we were now booked into a different complex in a different resort.
Not only were we sent to a lower standard of accommodation to the one we had booked but also there was no-where else in the world that they could send us unless we lost almost a week of our holiday.
The Atlantis Las Lomas is everything you would expect from a 2 star complex, except that it is not particularly clean.
The resort is not unlike Blackpool except that the weather is very good.
The complex backs on to a noisy road and our bedroom was situated a few feet from a glass bin which was emptied at 6 in the morning and also backed on to a building site, which due to the short notice of the change in our holiday we were not warned about in advance.
I am gutted that for myself, husband and two children, first choice charged us two thousand pounds for this holiday which was meant to be a quiet, peaceful one, and now we have had to constantly chase up money they owed us which was the difference in the price of the down grade.
They do not answer our letters or emails. This experience has put us off Lanzarote and we will never return. We will also never book any future holiday with the same tour operator.

Lovely place to go! Beach is really nice and clean. Apartment was very basic, recommend staying on top apartments as all ground floor ones found a lot of creepy crawlies visiting at night.
Swimming pools were very nice and big. Be prepared to climb up cardiac hill after your night out, it leads you back up to the apartments, its a fun challenge when us ladies have our high heels on.
The nightlife is brilliant! Lots of restaurants and bars, happy hours is really good here it lasts all night and every where you go the PR's get you free cocktails and shots to get you in their bar. Must go to Lady Mucks drag queen act it is so funny, if you want to set your boyfriend/husband up sit at the front table because they will get all the jokes directed at them.
They do trips from the apartments to go to visit the big market in Costa Teguise, which about 8 euros return, which is well worth going to if you like a good bargain. Overall it was a really good holiday, a lovely place to go.

Fantastic holiday - brilliant apartments, very clean and large, lovely pools. Got this on a last minute deal so was fantastic value for money. Also found a lovely little bar in the old town called The Hanging Monkey and spent a lot of the week in there!!! Cheap drinks and great atmosphere. Would definitely return to resort, apartments and bar!! Lanzarote is fabulous did a trip to see the volcano and got to ride on a camel - what an experience!!! (But don’t wear perfume my camel took a fancy for me!).

We had a great 2 weeks , my 7 year old thought the apartment was great as he was able to go and play in the pool and park without us and we all met new friends, even my 18mth old!
The overall cleanliness was excellent we had four pools to choose from and the evening entertainment was enjoyable for both adults and children, and we would go back in the future.
