Nice hotel, friendly staff, pools...

Jan 2008, Miss T Bowditch

Nice hotel, friendly staff, pools were superb the only bad point were the rooms. we were at the back of the apartements this meant lots of stairs to lug our cases up. Had a very bad smell of sewage in the room complained few times yet nothing was done about it. Also to get the the shops and bars the is a very steep hill which was a nightmare ! Wouldnt recommend this hotel for older people or people with youg children.

Hi I have just came back from staying...

Hi I have just came back from staying in the Atlantis Apartments 2 days ago. I stayed with a big group of my family so we booked 4 self catering rooms (2upstairs and 2 downstairs). They had to be the worst apartments I have ever stayed in.
The hygiene in the apartments was a disgrace. The maids would come in and rinse out your bath and sink with the shower head if you were in bed or getting dressed or whatever else you might do. They never made the beds or changed the sheets and I was there over a week and they didn't once. The towels only got changed once and might I say they were very scabby with there towels and tissue. The shower curtain fell down in 3 of the 4 apartments and as I tried to put mine back up I noticed the curtains weren't screwed in to the walls but stuck on by double-sided sticky tape, which I think myself that is very dangerous if you have young children as kids like to grab everything. The curtains repeatedly fell down through the holiday that we gave up.
As I arrived in to the apartment the floors were dirty had never been swept and it didn't for the rest of the week either so please ensure you bring slippers. I opened my kitchen press and the was cockroaches. When I checked my little sisters bed there was mould on the sheets. My bed on the other hand was broke the middle leg of the bed was broke so the bed was rocking side to side. The tele you have to pay for but it was a joke because I put money in but nothing happened, so had no tele for the week was going insane. Also I had no microwave but 1 of the other apartments did and I think if you spend the same money as everyone else why didn't my tele work or why didn't I get a microwave also iI got a toaster that bread didn't even fit in to.
I have to say despite all that I really really enjoyed a chinese dinner in a restaurant called "New World" 10 min walk from the apartments. Walk down the hill and turn right and you will walk past it. - very cheap and classy.
If your looking for a good Irish bar try Mulligans Down the hill and turn left bout 10 mins walk. Live music 7 nights a week by Siobhan Bell and Colly Farrell. Very good and really get the crowd going.
While I was there I booked for a holiday for the same time next year but I booked the Praya de mar apartments which I stayed in before and they were beautiful (5 mins away from Atlantis Las Lomas apartments) and there just as cheap.

As a family of 4 adults and 2...

Oct 2007, Green Family

As a family of 4 adults and 2 children 13 and 8 years, we stayed in the Las Lomas. The room was fairly big, basic but all you need for a self catering holiday, it was cleaned regularly although the maid wasn't very forth coming with the toilet roll, plenty of clean towels and linen changed twice in the fortnight.
It was very quiet the first week which meant it seemed as though we were in our own villa and private pool. Daniel the kids entertainer was a right laugh he kept the kids and the adults on the go with football darts pool etc, hysterical! Night entertainment, well we were told the entertainer had been sacked a few days before we arrived so it was very limited but Fran behind the bar played some tunes and there is plenty to find to do outside the complex.
Pools were cleaned every morning. Restaurant food a bit hit and miss, but ok for the kids snacks, we never used the pool bar so cant comment on that. There was some noise to be heard from renovating some of the apartments but it wasn't constant.
YES! the hill... steep but over with in minutes or use the steps at the side of Linikers bar. We mainly ate in the old town you cant go wrong plenty restaurants to choose from, only ate once on the strip never again complete rip off and taxed the bill. Revisted Flannigans a laugh a minute as always, cover the kids ears though can be on the rude side. Second visit to Rancho Texas good night but over priced even booking direct but its something different for the young kids.
This was our third time to Lanzarote and first stay at the Atlantis Las Lomas, booked for Gran Canaria next year, but no doubt we will be back in Lanzarote the year after and we would stay at Atlantis again, great time had by all and the weather was fantastic.

Oct 2007, Miss L Nicholls

I recently stayed at the Atlantis/Las Lomas Apartments in Puerto Del Carmen.
These Apartments are really nice. Clean, simple, and nice pools. Location is ideal. Not far from the Old or New town. The big hill you will see mentioned is fairly easy to get up. A bit tiring but doesn't take long.
One restaurant in the Old Town called Las Cascada Puerto is really nice an reasonably priced as is Chiquitto on the main strip.
Overall my holiday was fab and I would stay at the Atlantis Apartments again.

First time in Lanzarote and probably...

Sep 2007, Miss K Roe

First time in Lanzarote and probably the last. These apartment really put me off!
Arrived late first night to studio that had an aroma of what I can only describe as that which wafts from a gents public house loo. Didn't look like the room had been cleaned either.
Complained to the rep first thing next morning but didn't get another room until 4 pm. 1 day wasted. Although we were upgraded and the room didn't smell I was still dirty and they only made 1 half hearted attempt to clean it in the week we were there. The towels and bed linen weren't changed all week. The kettle was furred up and we had to resort to using a pan to boil water for a brew.
On first attempt to unpack the wardrobe door fell off and we had to get the maintenance man to fix it. The whole place was dilapidated & badly needed a face lift which they had just started on our arrival hence being woken every morning to sound of doors, windows etc being thrown into a skip under our bedroom window.
The tour operator hadn't told us about the work. The noise went on all day so you couldn't relax on you balcony if you wanted to.
They were short staffed due to staff holidays so some entertainment was cancelled and bar opening times were limited.
There were no mats for the sunbeds and we had to purchase lilo’s and sunbathe on the balcony (so you could go indoors for a bit of shade when it got too hot) as there were no brolly's either
The staff were friendly and you could have a good laugh with them if you could speak/understand a reasonable amount of Spanish. The only thing good about this holiday were the staff and the people we met there.
Recommend you give this one a miss till fully refurbished. With a bit of luck they'll improve.

We have been to Atlantis 3 times now....
10 / 10
Sep 2007, Mrs L Calderwood

We have been to Atlantis 3 times now. In Aug 2002, Aug 2006 and Jan 2007. Our Children were younger at the time and they also loved it. The entertainment at night is not much but as you are so central it is not far to walk to the main strip. You do not need to walk down Cardiac Hill because if you turn the first left past the shop, this street takes you down to the main strip right in the middle of the restaurants.
I have recommended Atlantis to loads of people and they have also enjoyed it. It is not the Hilton, but basic and clean, and if you are out all day, and go out at night all you need is a bed to sleep. I feel sorry for the maids, as at the time we had teenagers, it was always a task for the maids to clean the apartment because the kids were still in bed. But they were nice about it.
The staff at Atlantis are friendly and always willing to help. We are on first name basis with Fran (the barman) and Christian and Maria. We are now regulars and are thinking of going back Jan 2008 for some winter sun. I love the sun and if ever I was to buy a property abroad, Lanzarote would be my first choice.
The weather is fab all year round, in Jan this year we were there for a week and had one day where it was quite cold and stormy, but that was due to a passing storm, but soon brightened up later that day. It is not too much in your face like some places and there is plenty to do even for us 40 something’s.
I have noticed that some people on their comments have mentioned the TV not working, who goes on holiday to watch TV?
Well worth it, and a fab and clean complex, would recommend this to everyone.

Have stayed at the Atlantis Las Lomas...

Sep 2007, Mr Stephen Mcgrath

Have stayed at the Atlantis Las Lomas apartments 4 times. The complex is excellent for a 2 star . Basic but very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful, lots of sun beds and the various pools are very good. Would recommend it if your looking for a good, clean and cheap holiday.
Were going back again in April 2008. The resort is very clean, lots of bars and no lager louts! Beach is very good. The old town is very good for eating out; some very good fish restaurants and the harbour is very nice. A trip into the capital Aricefe is a good day out; lots of shops and bars where the locals go. Good beach there too. On the whole a great place.

Stayed at Atlantas Las lomas for 2...
8 / 10
Aug 2007, Mrs T Morgan

Stayed at Atlantas Las lomas for 2 weeks, we were a party of 4 adults and three children aged 11,13 & 16. There were lots of other families with children so they had a great time.
The evening entertainment was a bit hit or miss but the apartments were located close to all the shops, bars and restaurants and there is something for everyone in the resort. You do need to walk up/down a steep hill to the beachfront but it is a very short walk.
The daytime entertainer was very amusing and he organised some sports activities most days. The apartments were well equipped quite spacious and clean. I found the receptionists quite helpful and was able to hire a safe and a fan.
We were also able to arrange a late checkout of our room for 36 euros. It was very hot at times and I regretted not having air conditioning.
The sun beds were locked up until 10am so this stopped towels being placed on beds at the crack of dawn. The pool area was kept very clean; I wouldn't recommend the food at the pool bar, and however the food was fine at the restaurant.
When writing this review I have taken into account the price we paid. It was very reasonable so I wasn't expecting luxury, overall - reasonable standard apartments in a great location suitable for families.

Do not stay here. On the first night...
1 / 10
Jul 2007, Miss S Collett

Do not stay here.
On the first night of our holiday our room was robbed. We locked the day when we left and it was still locked when we arrived back. All the windows had bars on the outside (as we were on ground level) and so the thief obviously entered our room with a key.
We were refused a safe when we asked because we arrived at the hotel around 10 pm and so they said it was too late. We also asked to be upgraded to a one bedroom room (instead of the studio we had booked). We were willing to pay the extra but were told by the receptionist that it was not possible because they were fully booked.
We had locked our money in one of our suitcases and hid the key. However, the robber who stole from our room found the key and took all the money. They also took aftershave, perfume and a mobile phone.
When we realised what had happened, we told the first choice rep and the receptionist. The police were called but the first choice rep didn't even bother to stick around until they had turned up! When the police did turn up they couldn't speak any English, the hotel receptionist had said he would translate for us but didn't come to the room with the police.
We had to spend most of the next day at the police station, and also had to pay money for a translator.
When we informed reception of the robbery they said that they would move us to another room. This just added insult to injury because the night before they claimed to be fully booked!
In my opinion this was definitely an inside job, we also later found out that the same thing had happened to another couple the week before we arrived.

On arrival apartment was very clean...

Jun 2007, Mrs S Dunphy

On arrival apartment was very clean and there were no problems.
The evening entertainment had been cancelled for the duration of our stay and the pool and main bar were not open as they should have been pool bar 10 am till 2 pm and main bar 8pm till 11 pm or some nights if you were lucky 12.30am.
I was rather peeved by this as my son was ill for 3 days so I had to stay in the apartment with him, so if I wanted anything to drink I had to go to the shop which I was unable to do if my hubby had gone out.
I paid a lot of money to have no linen change for the week (although they changed it on the last night as I had requested it) and no entertainment or facilities that were advertised in the brochure, apparently the entertainer had gone on a week’s holiday and they didn’t arrange cover.
Apart from this Lanzarote on the whole wasn’t to bad Lots of Irish bars playing live music every night, Parrot show at Palms for the kids and the shopping centre for the ladies Zara is a must. Keep away from the electrical shops they hassle you for just looking in the window although there is on reputable one which the rep tells you about.
I would stay at these apartments again if I could be assured the entertainment and bar problem was fixed oh!! And the telly, we could only get true movies and sky news with no sound so you can imagine I wasn’t a happy holidaymaker when stuck in the apt for 3 days with no sound.
Please don't let me put you off the resort seemed safe enough and there are some beautiful places to eat and also drink.
Please also remember your customs allowances myself and my husband bought 2400 cigarettes for personal use, 6 cartons each and customs seized the lot when we arrived back so that did put a damper on things. Also bags had been opened when we took them off the carousel lots of things missing which is a problem I’ve never had before.

When staying in Atlantis Las Lomas...

Feb 2007, Miss L Bell

When staying in Atlantis Las Lomas with family, we experienced the best holiday of a life time.
Would recommend these apartments to any one, would also recommend Lanzarote itself to anyone.
It was my second time coming to Puerto Del Carmen and it certainly won’t be the last time I come here! There is plenty to do for everyone (all ages).
Staff here are very helpful and friendly; apartments are clean and very well presented.
Everything about this holiday was brilliant, won’t be long before I'm back here!

I have just returned from a week...

Dec 2006, Miss J Granger

I have just returned from a week staying at Atlantis, it had to be one of the best weeks of my life!
The accommodation is great, the people are fantastic, and the surroundings are beautiful.
I would recommend anyone who wants to get away, relax and have a great time to stay here.
I met some of the best people I could ever wish to meet. The staff are fab, very helpful and always up for a laugh.
There are so many bars to choose from. I have to recommend Sunset Beach to anyone who wants to have great time with fab people.
Also the bar at Atlantis is fun, its not big but its really nice. So anyone who wants to go on a relaxing break Atlantis is the place to go for definite.
