Atlantis Las Lomas Apartments

Home a week and now reading the reviews!! Probably would not have stayed here had I read them before I went but guess what - we were very pleased with our apartment - good size with patio in front and beside the pool which was maintained twice a day. Apartment a little dated and could do with lick of paint but it is the end of the season and the price we paid was very reasonable and we were also "accommodation on arrival" so we were taking a chance! We did hear of a robbery on the morning we were leaving but I think you have to take the normal precautions you would do when you are at home! Would go back no problem as it is a great location - few minutes to the beach. Not suitable for elderly if accommodation on higher levels - too many steps etc. Tip: One of us usually locates the apartment while the other stays with the cases!

Having read lots of reviews on these apartements i was very wary of this hotel and was worried sick about the roaches and being robbed. We took all our valuables with us (didnt want to take a chance!).
These apartements are a cheap but cheerful base for your holiday and are 2* so i dont know what others were expecting. Although in need of updating the rooms were spacious and kept clean, you can request extra cleaning and sheets to be changed and towels so if you are not too happy it can easily be rectified! the doors (we were on the ground floor) did not seem very sturdy, easy to break into and there was curtains not shutters. in the kitchen you get a hob, microwave,fridge, kettle and a toaster!!!
Cardiac hill wasnt that bad but i wouldnt stay at the top of it again as my legs were very tired (im only 25 and quite fit).
As the apartements are at the top of the hill, this brings me to the roaches. The canary Islands beng so close to Africa does have them. Being at the top of the hill these apartements are bound to have them. Behind the bin in the apartment was some spray.
I saw 1 inside. I sprayed. Came back from dinner found 10-15 dead small ones. Since this we sprayed every day, saw no more inside. Sitting on the balcony we saw a few so sprayed out here too, and i am glad we did! about 8 or 9 were dead the next morning due to it raining and them running for shelter! I hate these creatures but quickly realised it was not the hotels fault, it was the location. I complaned and they chopped the bushes on site and we saw no more.
We did the southern sights tour which was fantastic. If you want a quiter more relaxed holiday playa blanca is your best bet.
The staff were lovely, friendly, apartements in need of updating but clean, location was okay so overall it was a nice break for a 2* hotel!
Would I go back though, not on your nelly!!!

On going to Lanzarote me and my BF was worried about staying in these apartments because of the bad reviews on here. However we have no complaints about this hotel, the rooms were very clean and during our stay we never saw one insect or cockroach. We didn't use the safety deposit box we left everything in our suitcases, and we were never robbed. The room had a tv, kettle, toaster, microwave plenty of pots and cutlery. The room was cleaned everyday and the towels were changed, the cleaners all seemed very friendly. We stayed in room 206 which was right above the bar and at the front, however it wasn't noisy so it didn't bother us. There are plenty of pools and sunbeds. The pools are very cold but you get use to them. There are plenty of nice restaurants on the front strip. Although the waiters stand on the front and are very pushy as they want you to eat there. The front of Puerto Del Carmen is just like Blackpool, there is some tacky clubs with pushy reps, and lots of shops selling rubbish, the staff also follow you round the shop as if you are going to steal something. However if you turn right straight out of the aparments it will take you to the old town which was really lovely, there were restaurants overlooking the harbour and there are much nicer shops there, and there is also a shopping mall too. Overall I have no complaints about the hotel, however me and my BF would not return to Lanzarote again as it is just like Blackpool front!

I have previously put a review on these apartments before I had arrived. This was because, if you read my review below, my friends who I was meeting for the 2nd week of their holiday had been robbed on their 3rd night.
During my short time here 5 families where robbed and all their valubles taken.
I personaly didn't experience this as I was at the front of the complex, but alot of people at the back of the complex did. My friends room number was 535 and if you look on holiday's uncovered and go back to th reviews in May, this room was also targeted back then as well.
Below what Mr White is saying about the safe being bolted to the floor, this was only the case in some of the rooms, maybe you where just 1 of the luck ones?
My apartment number was 117,(at the front of the complex near reception) and the safe was bolted to the floor in the wardrobe (although didn't use it). My friends safe was not, and we asked everyone around her area to check and out of 10 apartments, only 3 where bolted to the floor and the rest where not.
First choice where not telling any new arrivals what had been happening either and people where arriving oblivious.
We strongly believe that this is an inside job as there was no forced entry to the rooms and the people being targeted had only just arrived, and where situated at the back of the complex.The staff did not want to know, the owner would not speak to the victims and first choice offered no resolutions.
The location and the pools where great, maybe we have just been left with a bad taste in our mouths, after seeing what really can happen?
Anyway, my and quite a few other peoples experience of the place are not good.
We will be going back to Lanzarote but not to Atlantis las lomas.

This was our 3rd time to stay at atlantis, and it wont be the last!! Apartments were very clean, as the maids came to clean, and gave fresh towles every other day, also bedding was changed regularly. This resort is based at the top of cardiac hill which is not too bad after you have walked it a couple of times. It is also near to the front, where there is a variety of restaurantes, bars and shops!! The beach is also near by!! There are many pools for different ages, also plenty of sunbeds!! Staff were very friendly, expecially the receptionist Angie, maurice the maintenance man, and not forgeting Daniel who kept every age entertained!! this resort is an excellent place for every age group. We had an amazin time and will be returning very soon.

there are too many reviews on here calling these apartments.
We arrived home yesterday from a week at the apartments. I would say these apartments are everything you need for a cheep, self catering holiday.
The room was clean and the safety deposit box was secured in the base of the wardobe. Although the room is basic, you are on holiday and you are not going to be in your room for long. TV's are availiable although we did not get one.
the location is great, cardiac hill is a bit big but as soon as you get the legs pumping it is alright, although we struggled after a big full english!! At the bottom of the hill you are in the middle of the strip and also on the beach.
The staff are helpful and daniel, the entertainments rep must work 14 hour days and can relate to people from 4 to 94.
We were cautious because of all we had read regarding thefts and the room being dirty.
none of this is true, our room was cleaned every day the bedding was changed once and the towels changed once, the towels did become a bit smelly but they were easily changed.
i would also reccomend if you are looking to eat out we can recommend the following restaraunts.
italian - dolce vita on the strip amazing food great service
mexican - Tex Mex the fajita's are amazing
Chinese - Hong Kong 2 chinese buffet

i have just come back from a week at the Atlantis Las Lomas with my boyfriend. We were very worried about staying at these apartments after reading the reviews so we took precautions and did not leave any valuables in the room. We carried our money with us everywhere and drew out more when necessary. We were quite suprised with the apartments as they were not as bad as what i had expected. We had a really good holiday and Lanzarote is a nice place to go. I would definately recommend the Southern Sights trip where u get to see the volcanos and ride on camels!!
The only downside to our holiday was the on our last night we heard the neighbours had been Robbed. It really is true what the other reviews say. They were a couple in their 20's staying in room 311 below us and some one got into their room (no forced entry) took a PSP and charger, 500 euros and even slashed into their case with a knife which they left on the bed!!! and stole their mobile phones out of their case. I did feel really bad for them as it was their second night. It is obviously an inside job in my opinion as their is no forced entry and how did they know to break into their room which had valuable and not our room which never had valuables??
Anyway if you do go to this hotel then you will be fine if like u you take precausions and leave nothing valuable in the room but i would advise staying somewhere else because i think these people get enough money out of other peoples valubales!!!
Apart from this there r lots of places to go out. 2 night clubs one called Ceasars and one called Dance 928 both r good and open till 6 then lots of bars to go to.
me and my bf both enjoyed our holiday and would def go back to lanzarote in a few yrs but stay in a diff hotel!!

I have just returned from the holiday from hell. I arrived in Lanzarote expecting to have the best holiday with my husband and two children but instead i had a run down apartment, with cocroaches and Very unhelpful staff, i didnt let this put me off until on our 3rd night of being in Lanzarote we got robbed. YES ROBBED!!!!!!!! They took the entire safety deposit box and my hand luggage bag. There was no forced entry and no broken windows. They just walked into my apartment took everything we had and walked back out. They managed to get 2000 Euros, £180, my phone, my kids passports, my kids nintendo games they even took my daughters hairdryer??? The Hotel had nothing to say about this and the police were no help either. On our 2 week stay there was 5 people robbed in the same manner. So please take my advice and never ever ever book this hotel.

do not stay here!!! these people will rob you blind!!!
in the short time we where there,5 families appartments where robbed.no sign of forced entry,safes emptied,passports taken.
first choice know this ,yet as new people arrived they where not even warning them.
the hotel staff don't seem to care either.its obviously them that are doing it.
this has been happening for some time.do not stay here!!!!!

I haven't yet been to these apartments, I am due to go there with my family this week.
We are meeting friends, who are there for 2 weeks and we are going for the last week of their holiday.
I am really only putting this message up as a warning to other people, who may be due to travel there any time soon.
My friends arrived there with their children on Thursday and I got a message to say the complex was very large, the apartments where clean but basic ( that's all you need fro a holiday really) the weather was fab and everyone was having a great time.
My friends had decided to hire a safe, for peace of mind, as it was a big reponsiblity to carry so many valuables around with them, as well as look after 2 small children.
I recieved a phone call from my friend yesterday, asking did I want to here the bad news, they had been robbed. They had been out for a meal, on the Saturday night, they left the apartments at about 9.00 pm for dinner and spent the night wondering around the resort and exploring. When they arrived back at about 1.30am, they where all exhausted and went straight to bed. It was only the next day, when they went to take money out of the safe that they realised the safe was gone!!!
There was no forced entry into the room and nothing else had been disturbed apart from the safe. ( Which would suggest inside job!!)
There was quite alot of money in the safe, passports,insurance documents,mobile phone, and a few other bits and pieces of value). Both her neighbouring apartments had been robbed as well, where they even went as far as stealing, nintendo DS's and GHD hair straightners!
Apparentley the staff have been great, but this, from reading the previous reviews, should have been stopped along time ago! I had my money in Euros and have now put my money i my bank instead and my partner and I have both our bank cards with us and I am not leaving anything of value in our apartment, I would urge anyone who are going to these apartments to do the same!!
The people who are being targerted have only been on their hoilday for 3 nights and they get robbed? It all sound very Convenient to me. Someone in this apartment complex is targeting people they know still have the majority of their spending money left, and people with safes!
Although I don't want to put a dampner on anyones holiday, as I am a little aprehensive about going now.
PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL. TAKE YOUR MONEY LEAVE NO VALUABLES IN YOUR ROOM.
