Great Value Close to Airport
My husband and I needed a hotel close to the airport for an early morning flight. I got this hotel for $59. plus tax on Priceline. Our room was very spacious, attractive, clean and comfortable. The staff we came in contact with were all very professional and helpful. We spent some time at the pool and had a great time. I did see the remodeling signs, but everything we saw looked updated and fresh. I'd stay here again if I needed to be close to the airport.
Wait until 2007 to stay at this hotel.
**There was a large sign in the lobby saying that the whole hotel was being remodeled/upgraded in the summer of 2006, so if you are thinking of staying here after that, my comments may no longer apply** GOOD - Courteous, friendly staff. I had interaction with a number of the staff at this hotel, and I found them all to be very nice. - If you are going to doing business in the corporate park near the airport, this is a nice location as you can walk to the business centers and probably 5-6 different restaurants (TGI Friday,... more
Why would you still charge for Internet Service?
This hotel is average. While the pool area and lobby are very well maintained and attractive the rooms are average. However, there is a $10.00 a day charge for internet service in your room or by the minute charge downstairs in the lobby. Get with the times people! This should be free as it is in most hotels. While a crib was waiting for us in our room for our daughter, they did not have a crib sheet for it. They did provide regular sheets but are they not aware that this can create a suffocation hazard? The food and service... more
Just an average hotel
Stayed at this hotel in January. The employees are pleasant but overall the hotel is just ok. There is no small shop in the hotel,I wanted a weekend paper and was directed to a box at the back of the hotel. it was empty and I was told they only get 5 copies a day. They did offer to take me in the shuttle van to a store to get one. I waited 20 minutes for the shuttle and gave up. My mattress was visablly stained, the closet door didnt work right and the room had an odd smell.Had to call three times to have a phone book sent up. Probably... more
Loved the Renaissance! Superior service!
This was only the second Renaissance Hotel I've stayed at and was pleasantly surprised what a classy hotel this turned out to be. The first one I stayed at was near Philadelphia airport, and it was nice as well! I don't know how what class this hotel is, but I definitely give it 4 stars. It really shames some of the 3-4 stars hotels I've stayed at in other big cities. And the price is reasonable! First, service and attention to detail is extraordinary! I was greeted so cordially by the front desk attendants. I was given a letter... more
Horrible experience
I picked the Renaissance over the Hyatt due to being a Silver Elite Marriott rewards member and knowing the Renaissance name usually means a nice experience. Not this time. My family and I landed at MCO at around 9 p.m. after flying cross-country. I immediately called the hotel before we got to baggage claim letting them know we would be waiting for the van. After waiting a while I called them back and they assured me they were on their way. This hotel shares their van with the Marriott courtyard and because of the terminal we were at... more
A Standard Hotel in a Good Airport Location
The Renaissance Orlando Hotel Airport is located off Semoran Blvd. directly across the Bee Line Expressway from the Main Entrance to Orlando International Airport. The hotel is a 10-story structure built in the early 1980’s in a modern contemporary style of it’s time. It was formerly known as the Ramada Renaissance Hotel prior to Ramada selling off the Renaissance line. Renaissance is now owned by the Marriott Hotel Corporation. On-site self parking is complimentary, and valet parking is available for a fee. The Renaissance provides... more
Great hotel! Would definitely recommend.
We stayed at the Renaissance the last day of our vacation. Our flight was early the next morning, so we wanted to be close to the airport. We ate at the Bierstube pub located inside the hotel. The food was good and the service was excellent. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. This was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. The only drawback was that there was not an inside pool. It stormed the night we were there, so our kids could not use the outside pool.
Surprisingly good with Outstanding Food as well.
I got the AAA rate of $79 and took it because it was the lowest in town...so didn't expect much. To my surprise, the room was very nice, there's a great beer pub, and the restaurant Forbe's Place is one of the best I've eaten at...the cornmeal crusted calamari with roasted pepper aioli appetizer for $6.75 was incredible. Their potato crusted grouper with braised vegets and port sherry glaze as the entree was just as good. The teramisu dessert wasn't up to these standards. Breakfast room service was only $9 delivered and good food... more
Loved the location and the privacy!
This hotel is WONDERFUL if you want privacy at the end of your day! It is just a few miles away from all of the attractions, yet at the end of the day, you can be home in less than 30 minutes. It's like a suburb, away from the city hassle. Rooms are nice and roomy, bed was THE MOST COMFORTABLE hotel bed I had ever slept in. The hair dryer in the room was so cool. Completely attached to the wall and worked like a charm. The only drawback is that this charmer could use a little restaurant for coffee and a light meal. I thought the price was... more
