we too had read the beak in reports even though our holiday company had never heard of any reports, so we also were carefull when we went out by leaving lights on etc. the villa was excellent. we were on the 2 storey ones so had another balcony as well. great views. nice inside, all mod cons etc and very clean. one thing, before you head out for the first time after arriving, make sure your sliding doors are all locked as all ours were not on arrival. the resort centre were the bars and resteraunts are is about a 3 minute walk which is very handy and the beach is about the same. the whole resort has a very nice well back atmosphere and everyone is very friendly. only downside was our rep and the fact they also sent us to the wrong hotel for pick up to go home and they had no where safe for our luggage so we hired a room, and also had to get a taxi to airport as we were as i said at the wrong place due to the rep.
I would highly recommend these villas and resort. cant wait to go back!

We have just returned from Lanzarote and was aware of the break ins reported on various websites. We took basic precautions ie left lights on and blinds down and put valuables in free safe and had no problems. The pool was very cold even though it was 30+ everyday. We ate out most days in Matagorda Square. We had a very peaceful holiday even though it was high season - there was nobody in the villa next door. Flight back was delayed for 3 hrs and wasn't kept informed by holiday reps and inflight food was a disgrace.

Just come back from the jameos villas in matagorda. only stayed 1 week and wish we had stayed for 2. Villas very nice and we had lovely views from the upstairs room and balcony. matagorda was really nice with plenty of restaraunts and bars and was much nicer and cleaner than adjoining puerto del carmen although worth getting a taxi down there to the old town for 4 euros. Right next door to sol lanzrote. If you have kids they will love it. very close to matagorda commercial centre and even closer to beach. good sea views from upstairs. There are 6 villas with an upstairs and these are 3 bedrooms the 2 bedrooms are on 1 floor although these also look very nice. Will definitely go back for 2 weeks next year.

Was a bit sceptical about going to these villas as there seemed to be no information about them on the internet and I had read that someones had been broken into. However, when we got there, we were surprised to find the villa looked exactly like it did on the Direct Holidays website and with the triple lock front door and shutters on bedroom windows, we felt pretty secure. As we were in villa number 3, we were in between two villas and the only way anyone could break in would be to climb over a ten foot wall.
Our villa had a great sea view and was literlally a five minute walk to the beach and shops and restaurants. There is plenty of restaraunts to pick from, ranging from Pizzerias to traditional British owned places, and prices are extremely reasonable. Residents of the villas can also use the Sol Lanzarote hotels restaurants (choice of three) or there is a McDonalds situated directly opposite the villas to keep the kids happy.
Maid service is twice a week and a pool cleaner also comes a couple of times during the week but in order to keep the pool clean from the leaves from the trees, we simply bought a childrens fishing net for 3 euros from local shops. The pool is a good size and not too deep, as the shallow end is 140cm and the deep is only 160cm.
Situated on the Matagorda beach, the villas are on the outskirts and quieter part of Peuto Del Carmen, but a bus only costs about a euro or a taxi costs 4 euros and only takes a 5-10 min drive to get to the main strip, where there is a tax free shopping centre. Even though we booked through Direct Holidays, we did have a Thomas cook Rep who was very helpful and easy to contact through her mobile phone. Also found this easier than booking direct as we got transfer buses to a from the airport, which was only a five min drive away.
Would definately go back to villas but this time would stay for two weeks and not just the one as we did this time.

first time we have ever stayed in a villa and never again will we go into a hotel the kids even enjoyed alot more
the place was brillant the villa has everything you need it is in a nice area the only problem is you need to be very tired or have a lot to drink to sleep in the upstairs room as road noise is very loud but only had problem the one night when we had to much sun so had no drink.....
the main problem with this villa is it is operated by thomas cook the reps were not helpful at all if you ever stay here and you get a cab tell them the villa is next to sol lanzarote hotel else you will nevr find it. it is 5mins from airport the rep put us in a taxi and said driver would know where it is 2 and half hours later and stopping to ask police and other taxi drivers we made the driver take us back to airport after the taxi driver had an argument with rep we were at villa 5mins later the problem was down to again that the villa is in matagorda and not purteo do carmen which i will say is 100% nicer area very quiet and i think all reps think the taxi drivers should know every name of each villa and what area they were in which is impossible as lanzarote is mainly villas and these villa had no signs on cause we
had drove past them twice haha .
the other problem is that we were told on the last day we had to be out of villa by 10 and as our flight was not till 6 we had to store our luggage at sol lanzarote and had use of there facilities for the day when we arrived there this was not so the management has decided to put a stop to this he did take pitty on us with the children and allowed us but told the rep they had to make other arrangements in future, so please check this if you have a late flight. we will return to this villa as we wished we had booked for 2 weeks and there was so much more to do but next time we will hire a car for the whole week as you can do everything on the island with ease and not pay a fortue on thomas cook trips that again they gave us false information just so we did them with them.

First impressions of the Villa were very good; well laid out with every possible need catered for. This included dishwasher, oven etc. It is well located close to the airport and the beach. Overhead noise from planes and traffic can take a bit of getting use to. Unfortunately on the second night, while we were out for tea the villa was broken into. Alot of items were taken and we were moved to a different villa. The Villa at that time did not have alarms but some did. If we had been targeted by a burgular we would have given this vila a 10. We booked with Direct holidays and we will be booking with them again as the service we received from the holiday reps on their team was second to none.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in September, and loved every minute of it!
The villa was amazing, absolutely spotless, with everything you could wish for. The only downside would be, it’s a little bit out of Puerto Del Carmen and more like Matagorda, but we hired a car for the two weeks, so it didn’t bother us much.
Would go back to these villas in a minute, very modern, with 2 full bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, and fab pool. Had a great time.
