This is our second visit to the Avenida Hotel. It is ideally located within the charming old town. The hotel boasts amenities of jacuzzi, sauna, gym etc. There are day time functions like a tour of the kitchen, line dancing and Spanish lessons. Evening entertainment is... more

The holiday was very good. Rooms were cleaned on a daily basis. I will definitely go again.
The staff were very friendly and helped us carry bags to our rooms. The ensuite included was very big with a inside Jacuzzi.

Avenida Hotel is in an ideal spot for both old town and Levante area. The hotel is superb and staff etc are great (apart from crabbit chef). The room we had did not have a balcony and did not have a view but it was still a good room. The rooms are so quiet you cannot help... more

This is a lovely hotel; the outside is much understated, but inside upstairs in the main foyer is beautiful. Very clean and classy looking. The restaurant is very well set out and immaculate with clean linen freshly starched. The staff are excellent and friendly. In Dec... more

This was the third time my wife and I have stayed at the Hotel Avenida, Benidorm in the last two years. On this occasion we went half board for one week in late January. Obviously, we must like the place because we keep going back. By Benidorm standards it is a small... more

The hotel is central to all amenities. close to the beach, bars and restaurants. I stayed there because I was told the old town is not as brash as Benidorm new town. Unfortunately I found that it was full of cheap souvenir shops and like being in Blackpool which I wanted to... more

Quite surprised, very nice, can't wait to go again!!!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel was a bit of a trek from where the coach dropped us off, but when we arrived it was superb. The rooms were cleaned everyday, and all the staff were friendly and polite. The food was quite basic, but varied and you could tell it was 4 star but the quality. Thankfully you didn't get chips with every meal, and the atmosphere was very pleasent. Can't wait to go again, and don't know why theres negative reviews. Was lovely...
Dont be afraid of Avenida
We stayed in Avenida for a week and found it to be a very nice place, in spite of some of the negative things we had read in other reviews. The location is great only 150 yards from the beach and close to the shops and sights of the old town. Much more Spanish than the New Town and hotel entertainment caters for locals. However plenty of entertainment close by and if you want the karaoke and Brit pubs of the New Town they are only 15 minutes stroll away. The rooms are adequate but only had one power socket close to the television but an adaptor was available from reception. Bring your own kettle and teabags. Very clean with maid service every day. There can be noise from the street up to 1.00 a.m. but hey your in the middle of things so it goes with the territory. Food was good, choices at both breakfast and dinner sometimes small queues but not that bad. Staff were friendly and helpful and any requests met instantly. On the day we left we vacated our room at 12 noon but came back at 5pm and were given key for courtesy room to shower and change. All in all a good hotel and would go back again. I think some people are just too hard to please!!
Very average
We stayed during August (me, my wife and our 11yr old son)having booked through a subsidary site of lastminute.com. The booking form suggested we had a balcony but when the booking ticket was printed it did not contain a reference to balcony. I e-mailed the avenida to confirm but they never replied. Guess what? When we arrived no balcony. Worse the room looked out at another balcony (I think from their apartment complex). These were so close we had to keep the curtain closed for privacy. We asked to be moved and were after 3 nights of a 7 night stay. This room was much nicer with balcony and sea view. Overall good points: Reasonably clean, excellent position, food ok, air conditioning worked well (and it was hot), didn't experience any great queues for meals seen in other reports and it was high season. Not so good: Depends on your room and lots don't have balconies, miniscule roof top pool, poor meal times (lunch 1- 3, evening meal 8- 10), tiny inadequate lifts. We enjoyed our hol but proberly wouldn't stop here again unless we had a guaranteed balcony
going back
we were on the 4th floor over the entrance we never encountered any noise, room was good for two people we knew of the size of the pool before we went if you look at all the info you will know this. personnally i would not take children here i found the location the hygene the quality of food and the staff excellent so much so that i am going back at the end of september. The dining room is small and there is a lot of spanish tourists there but that is a tip in itself, it depends what time you go whether it is busy or not in the dining room we went for our breakfast at 0955 hrs. it closes at 1000hrs. the staff were still putting out fresh trays of eggs and bacon out. I can not say enough about this excellent hotel.
Too many stars!
We stayed at Avenida in mid-June 2007 after reading reviews on Trip Advisor and were expecting a good stay. Having been to Benidorm a few times I knew that the location was perfect for what I wanted, right in the centre of the old town. Despite having booked 6 months previously, none of my requests were met ( sea view, above 4th floor, no internal rooms ) and there was a botch-up over my booking. After booking 2 rooms they could only find a reservation for 1. Having spent an hour trying to sort it out because the hotel was full, they eventually put 4 of us in one room ( including a 2 year old ) which was directly over the main entrance on the 1st floor. Quite noisy. Later that evening a phone call informed me that they had found my booking and offered me a dark interal room with a pokey little window which I had no option but to accept. The hotel is clean and bar and dining room staff generally were pleasant. Public areas are pleasant and modern. One or two of the maids were a bit surly. Meal times were quite stressful because after queuing to get into the dining room, you then have to form two queues to get to the one food island which has hot meals one side and cold meals on the other. This generally brought about stress because our european friends tried to jump the queue. It was taking upwards of 20 minutes to get sat down for your meal. Although food was plentiful, it tended to be rather bland and samey. Disappointingly, there was very little spanish cuisine in evidence except for paella on two occasions. Having a 2 year old with us the dining room staff were pleasant, but again our european friends rolled their eyes when he made a noise or got off his chair to walk around, as boisterous 2 year olds are likely to do . This hotel is perfectly located and I would suggest suitable for 55 year olds+, but not geared up to younger people and families. Had my wife and I been travelling alone, it probably might have been more bearable. Although not evident I formed the impression that children weren't overly welcome. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel of quality despite having the accreditation..
Highly Recommended
This is a lovely hotel, the outside is very understated, but inside upstairs in the main foyer is beautiful. Very clean and classy looking. The resturant is very well set out and imaculate with clean linen freshly starched. The staff are excellent and friendly. In Dec 2006 we decided to have a change and booked the Don Pancho, food okay, a bit repetative, the staff were unapproachable and very abrupt. As it was December we thought it would be quiet, how wrong were we, fueding pensioners! Drunk and swearing at each other, they were eventually after a lot of complaining by lots of guests moved to a FLOOR on their own! Very funny the first night, after 3 nights a bit wearing....... We went a wander to the old town and decided to have a coffee in the Avenida and realised how much we missed it. We decided to eat in the resturant, excellent as expected. The standards have not changed nor had the attitude of the staff, booking again this year. Excellent location for a wander in the evenings and near enough the hub if thats what you want. Highly recommended.
great hotel
i am a travel agent and have been to benidorm several times but never stayed in old town what a very nice change hotel spotless staff very good location perfect for shooping and beach pool a little on small side but always sunbeds would definatly go back but on booking please request room with balcony
benidorm hol
A very clean hotel. The service and maid service were exellent. The food was well cooked and varied, there was always something we liked. The hotel is in a great position but as it is in the middle of town be prepared for noise. This is mostly caused by the street cleaning and rubbish collection during the night. There are a couple of niggles. The pool is very very small for a hotel this size and the lifts can only carry 4 people which can result in a long wait at meal times. A good hotel for early or late holidays
Fantastic Hotel!
Just arrived back from Benidorm yesterday. What a brilliant hotel! This was our seventh visit to Benidorm but our first to the Avenida. The hotel is the cleanest we have ever stayed in, we were given a guided tour of the kitchen (something we have never been offered anywhere else in the world), and it's absolutely spotless. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was great, loads of choice. We will definately go back to the Avenida.
so so
