Faliraki itself is a nice place to visit, however the place where I stayed is definitely a place to avoid like the plague. Zoes studio apartments is the worst place I have ever stayed, and I have travelled extensively and stayed in better youth hostels, so that says something about the place already.
The staff were unfriendly, unwelcoming and extremely rude. The room was ok, basic which is fine, however it wasnt cleaned the whole time we were there, rubbish was taken but that was it. Linen was supposed to be changed twice a week and we had to chase them to get them to do it, also toilet roll seemed to be on ration as well.
This is definitely not a place to take children as they have a dog which bites and dog mess on the grass area near the pool.
To top everything off I had a silver necklace stolen from my room, There was no break in so I can only assume it was the cleaner who had come in that day to take the rubbish. The manager didnt want to know when I told him and was extremely rude to me.
During my stay a lad who was also staying at the apartments cut his foot very badly on a rusty old screw that was poking out from a light on the side of the pool wall. The staff did not seem at all bothered by this.
Food is expensive in the hotel, and the hotel itself is about 2km away from the town. Taxis are very expensive and you couldnt walk to or from the town at night as there is no lighting and no paths.
I would advise anyone even considering staying here to go elsewhere.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Zoe’s for a week in August. Very disappointed to be truthful.
When we first arrived at 2am in the morning no one really made us feel welcome, just checked in and went straight to the room. First impressions were that it was clean and tidy but basic and bare.
Next day - still no greetings, the staff seemed to be quite rude and if we asked for something it always seemed to be too much trouble for them. I don’t think you could really say that the rooms were self catering; there were two cooking rings, no toaster, no microwave which I thought was really stupid, although in the shop they sold things in tins but you couldn’t eat anything with them other than bread, which meant that we had to have most of the meals in their restaurant (not stupid are they!!). The meals weren’t that nice.
The bloke that works there in the day; Thomas, was really miserable when he wanted to be - had a go at us for not paying for something and going to the pool but he'd taken our order and started serving someone else!
Faliraki was a very uncomfortable 25-minute walk away or you can get a taxi for 6/7 euro.
The bloke that runs it will take you into Faliraki at 8:30 pm in a minibus (8 seated) but you could tell that he really didn’t want to do it!
The pool was clean but the sun beds are really close together and on top of each other (like the balconies in the room) so we felt like we couldn’t get away from other people.
Overall, very disappointed and wouldn’t go back there although Rhodes itself was very nice.

We booked Zoe's 2 weeks before arriving having read mixed reviews. On the positive side we found the place very clean and the room spacious. True there isn't much in the 'kitchen' but there was enough to make breakfast (if you 'toast' the bread in the frying pan!). We found the owner and staff friendly and helpful, they always made a point of saying 'hello' in the morning although we were disapointed to find the promised shuttle bus was NOT running for the first 3 nights as it was very quiet. (The XL problems meant the hotel was a lot quieter than expected). The owner did start running the bus as long as you had at least 6 people and there were usually enough. Otherwise it was taxi's which were 6-8 Euros to get to Faliraki and 6 to get back. Be aware you are charged more by some drivers if your have phoned for them. It should always be 6 if you flag them down or go to a taxi rank!
Downsides - the distance the Faliraki - a good 20 min walk along the main road or 40 mins on the much nicer and very quiet mountain road. We walked to Faliraki beach most days as it's very lively and has a friendly atmos! Much closer (10/15 min walk) are Ladiko and Anthony Quinn Beaches - both very nice but much smaller and mainly pebbles. You can also take a costal path from the left side of Anthony Quinn right through the Faliraki.
Another downside is the cost of extras - Air con is 45 Euro for a week, keeping the room on the day of departure 25/30 (til 6/8) and we had no choice as the flight wasn't until 2am! Considering the hotel only get around 70 euros from the holiday company for the week you can see how much profit these extra are worth to the hotel!
Our room was cleaned every day but sheets only changed once during the week.
Food and drink in Zoe's is a little more than you would pay in the main resort but not that much more. Long drinks were 4 euro, cocktails 5 euro - both 2-4-1 during happy 'hour' which lasted from 1900 - midnight. A large beer was 3 Euro. We always drank the local water and suffered no ill effects at all but bottled water is cheap in supermarkets.
We would definetly go back to Faliraki outside the main mad season but not to Zoe's. It was nice enough but too far from the main resort and had nothing else in the area.
