Le Agavi Hotel

The views were incredible and service was great. Although the beds were hard as rocks. The rooms were nice and clean. If I were to stay here again I would call the hotel and request a nicer room and make sure it has a view.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights on my honeymoon. Yes, the views are amazing but thats about it. The rooms are large but are very ugly. The beds were hard as a rock. I woke up after the first night unable to move my back without horrible pain and it remained that way for my entire stay. When I complained all they did was stick a cushion from the pool chairs under the bedsheets which only slightly helped. The staff was very unfriendly and acted as if we were bothering them whenever we asked a question. I would never recommend this... more

We recently honeymooned at the Agavi and it was incredible. Our views were stunning, our room clean, and our bathroom huge! Our first day there, we arrived after a long flight and ride and ordered room service on our terrace. Leopoldo came to our room and set up us quite nicely. I enjoyed an amazing meal and a bottle of wine with my husband overlooking the town and beach. The beach itself was nice, but we preferred going to Fornillo. Incredible views of Positano! Great hotel with very clean rooms and extremely comfortable. We had a seaview terrace room; definitely worth it! Nice restaurant with spectacular views.

My son and I were never so glad to park our car as when we arrived at the very easy to find, slightly outside of town Le Agravi. Our room was small, the artwork was pathetic, the furniture barely adequate. Then we walked onto the patio and realized why this hotel has four stars, WOW! The Le Agavi had beautiful views of Positano and the Mediteranean. Fortunately, we were able to park our car the entire time we stayed due to the shuttle service the hotel provides to and from town. Been a while since we stayed here ('03) but just started adding to TA so hope it helps. Le Agavi is on a hillside overlooking Positano, and so you reach the town via a small courtesy bus that runs fairly regularly. To be honest, a day or two in Positano is all you need, then there is Capri etc. to visit. I have just returned from a trip to the Amalfi coast and having used Trip Advisor extensively (and I really mean extensively as I am THE fussiest person I have ever met - I must have spent approx 30 hours on the web in total trying to make up my mind!), I thought it only right that I add my review on Le Agavi in the hope that it will help others like me make that final decision. We stayed for 3 days in a Junior suite which included a sitting room, a large bathroom and deck, and a loft with the bed. This room is #111 and is on the webiste of the hotel. The hotel is outside of Positano, but that affords views of the town. The hotel is what we called a "cruise on land": there are bars at the beach, hotel itself, the beach, etc. Dinner is amazing at the hotel; as the Brits next to us said "A fine meal." Some rooms are larger than others but all have a magnificent view of the sea. The hotel is built high into the side of a mountain, with five levels below the lobby. Regular shuttle service to the town and beach down below. Truly unique!

We found this to be a wonderful hotel - the room itself and the bathroom were a little less than you would expect in a five star establishment - but this was more than compensated for by the availability of our own terraces, the views - which are stunning and the beach facilities. It also has a very good restaurant - not cheap but providing excellent food. We found the staff helpful and friendly. We would be happy to recommend this hotel.
