Jungfrau Lodge Swiss Mountain Hotel

Having read other people's unfavourable reviews, my wife and I were dreading our holiday. We thought the worst when our flight was delayed by an hour and a half and then the aircraft made 3 landing attempts (fog/low lying cloud) at Berne before giving up and flying to Basel. We finally arrived at the Hotel 6 hours late!
We were pleasantly surprised to find that the Hotel was spotlessly clean and tidy and the view from our room was the best anywhere and we have seen some sights in our time. We had an end room and so we had a balcony looking directly toward the massive Eiger and also looking out to the side as well - breathtaking!
There was no choice for our evening meal but fortunately we both found the meals (4 course) very satisfactory. Fussier people might have a problem but we were happy enough after our initial disappointment.
Staff were pleasant and helpful. The only real downside was the lack of an attractive lounge area and the fact that what was the lounge/foyer area allowed smoking which meant holding your breath and getting through it as quickly as possible.
