The Place to Stay!!!

We had a lovely holiday in Kalkan enhanced by the Elixir Hotel. Firstly, I must commend Egeman the manager on being helpful above and beyond the call of duty, nothing is too much trouble for this man,he will do anything to make your stay stress free. His staff are exceptional.... polite, friendly and again so helpful. The standard room we'd booked was quite small so we upgraded to a superior room overlooking the pool area which was much bigger...just a word of warning, it can get quite noisy late into the evening. We had ear plugs with us so problem solved, I'd recommend taking some just in case! The food was excellent and the food on the BBQ night was great, I am vegetarian so Egeman made sure I wasn't left out, plenty of choice for me. The walk into the town is about 20 mins and quite a steep hill to climb on the way back but this hotel is well worth it. Do consider staying here, you won't be disappointed.

Just awful.

This hotel claims to be 4*, but it simply isn't.
Its located a steep walk from the centre, the rooms are small, there are holes in the doors so people can see into your room, the tv and fridge didn't work. Noise from the hotel bar regularly disturbed us past 2am every night.
Breakfast is a service tragedy.
But all of that could possibly be overlooked if it weren't for the outrageously rude management. They appear pleasant enough, but its just a facade if you do not choose to spend money in the hotel. In this case you can expect an uncomfortable stay. In our case we were publicly scolded infront of other guests for having the cheek to bring a bottle of water back to the hotel (our fridge didnt work !). My girlfriend was reduced to tears.
Overall - definitely go somewhere else.

Worst Holiday Ever

Kalkan is a lovely place to visit. We come every year (My hubby and I). Last year we had a memorable holiday at the Samira Hotel in town, and whilst out exploring, thought the Elixir Hotel would be a nice change. What a disaster. The rooms are small (Deluxe ones are a joke). The TV didnt work, and when we requested another room (ours was beside a very noisy family) they did nothing to accommodate us and the TV remained unusable throughout the trip. They also continually tried to 'flog' drinks at the bar, and when you didnt buy, stopped trying to be helpful.
We checked out their sister restaurant, "the Trading House"- again, worst possible service in Kalkan- and you dont get bad service in Kalkan!!! Our dinner took over 1 hour to arrive- and the steak that hubby ordered was overcooked.
The only positive thing i have to say about our stay is that the staff who work in the hotel (cleaners and barman) are very friendly. The owner, at reception was frosty, unreceptive and unhelpful when we were asking for holiday travel advice.

We have recently returned from a week...

We have recently returned from a week in Kalkan, our third trip all in all, and I must say is was fantastic.
Kate and Ali have created a most wonderful experience in the Elixir Hotel with fabulous rooms, excellent staff, and an atmosphere in which our one year old thrived.
He was taken for walks by the staff, entertained during the day around the pool and given constant attention. Kate and Ali have hired a cracking team at the Elixir.
Breakfast in the morning is a wonderful experience, but totally flexible and not the typical buffet style. You can basically have what you want and when you want it.
We had such a great time that we are going back in September and staying in the suite this time, with views over Kalkan Bay and Kalamar Bay.
This hotel is located ten minutes along the Kalamar Road from the roundabout, there is a bit of a hill but quite a nice walk.
