A Stones Throw Away Hotel

My husband and I stayed here for two nights on our wedding/honeymoon trip in May. We needed a place to stay for one night before we flew out to the Out Islands and one night on the way back in. This hotel is the only place to stay for something like that. It is very close to the airport but not noisy at all. The food was absolutely terrible when we stayed there. Rooms, excellent, large and clean. A bit sparse on the storage space so not for a long stay. Lovely building and gardens but up a steep set of steps so not for the physically impaired. Small pool but attractive. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food well cooked and fresh though the lack of an evening meal is a big inconvienence. Only one restuarant within walking distance and if you don't like their food you have a problem. Honour bar but watch out for the 15% gratuity added to every drink and lunch time meal with tax... more

Having trawled through many hotel web sites and found them lacking in positive reviews, this place looked an absolute gem even before we got there. Every aspect of the place surpassed our expectations. Tasteful decor, comfy beds, warm and friendly staff. We only needed to stay one night before we caught another flight to the out islands but next time we'll be encouraged to stay longer in Nassau just for the pleasure of staying there. The food was excellent and we felt very secure.

I stayed at this B&B with one of my friends during a weekend in January. Our experience was absolutely fabulous! We arrive on a Thursday. As everyone else mentions, it's very close to the airport, but you don't hear any airport traffic. You are up on a cliff, with a gorgeous pool (with waterfall) and an exquisite old Bahamian style home. We just returned from a 2 night stay at "A Stone's Throw Away" and it was wonderful! We stayed in a garden view room, the decor was lovely. This place was only 3 minutes from the airport and is located on the west part of the island, which is a much calmer, quieter part of the island. The beach is just down the hill from the B&B, often we had the whole beach to ourselves! Breakfast is included here, and the chef made us some great omlettes. I just got back from my stay there and I cannot say enough wonderful things about A Sone's Throw Away! It was the highlight of our trip. My husband & I stayed in room 8 (an ocean view room) and we loved it. My brother-in-law & sister-in-law stayed in room 9 (a suite) and their room was very large. They both were beautifully decorated. Went to A Stone's Throw Away for my husband's 40th. Lovely setting and very relaxing. Room # 8 must be the best in house because we had a lovely large veranda with day bed overlooking the ocean. The food was excellent and Chef Jermico will take good care of you. Was dissapointed in the front desk team. For weeks had been setting up this 'surprise getaway' for my husband's birthday. Stayed here two nights in mid-April. Stumbled across this place online, but pictures don't even do it justice...the house could not have been better! Amazing attention to detail, top-notch staff, pristine rooms, and great ocean views. I won't even think of staying somewhere else next time I am in Nassau. Do yourself a favor and stay here!

I strongly recommend this BEAUTIFUL place for couples, such a romantic cozy place. It's a short drive from the airport, once you arrive it takes your breath away walking up the stairs to the entrance. The garden area is beautiful the pool looks very natural with beautiful stones around it. The room was so nice had french doors that opened to the garden area, wood floors in the room really must see the room to appreciate it. This was a great place to stay. Staff are friendly and helpful. Accomodation is excellent. Breakfasts are well prepared and abundant. Local restaurant close-by with reasonably priced good food for lunch and supper. Inn will prepare snacks and lunches on request. Jitney bus to Cable Beach or Downtown is close and easy to use but it is a 30 minute ride into Nassau depending on the driver. Lovely backyard to idle your time away by the pool. Close to airport and a small beach with others accessible by walking.
