Davos is the highest town in Europe; we stayed at the Central Sport hotel as part of the Swiss Classic Tour. The hotel is quite central in Davos close to cafes, restaurants, and good shopping.
The room was spacious and clean but a little tired looking and no tea making facilities! Staff were helpful and you get a guest card which gives you discounts in the area.
Food at the Central Sport hotel left a little to be desired, one offering bore a striking resemblance to a 1960's school dinner, very disappointing! Be prepared to pay CHF 43+ for a bottle of wine.
The Alpine Garden lift is just across the road. We used the Rinerhorn lift for a fabulous 5 hour walk - the Rinerhorn was the only lift open during our 2 night stay. Transport system is excellent.
If you ARE planning a walk, Sertig is a must and do sample the Strudel, it's to die for.
