My husband and I had a fantastic relaxing holiday at these apartments. We stayed in the brand new apartments on the top floor. If you can get one of these apartments you wont be disappointed. Very clean and spacious with a great walk in shower after a hot day. We hired a car for 4 days and would highly recommend doing that as there as some great beaches in halkidiki and so easy to drive around. It was a only a short walk down a slope to the beach and if reasonably fit you wont even get out of breath, so not sure why people complain about this.
It was fantastic value for money and could not fault it. We did not stay around the pool as we felt the beaches were far to nice to miss.
It is quiet and not alot going on, but if you want a relaxing holiday by the sea, it is perfect. Would definitely go back.

Just back from a week in Polychrono, Greece at the Royal Kostas Apartments. The weather was beautiful, the Apartments were spotless and had everything you needed except egg cups and that's no hardship. The photographs don't do the Hotel justice as the whole place has had a refurb and a new apartment block and pool added. There were quite a few families when i was ther, however we did't go without sun loungers and all the children got on well and had a lovely time. The Hotel was run by a family and they were the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome, especially Alex, Kostas and Maria. The Thomson rep was one of the nicest and most helpful reps i have ever had on a holiday. The beach, restaurants and shops were a five minute walk away but to get there you did have to cross a very busy road, although we didn't have any problems. The restaurants were on the beach front with beautiful views and Dolphins do swim past. All i all it was a perfect week away, thankyou.

Ok, i was really worried about this hoilday, had nether been to a small hotel and that worry got worse as the airport was alful, Gatwick minding that.
However once we got there it was the best hoilday we had ever been on, the minute you get there you feel like you are being welcomed into a 5 star hotel, the owners (who live on site) are extreamly friend and always around to help. yes the hotel is tiny but this isnt a problem at all, infact its advantage as it was extremaly peaceful and relaxing, brilliant pool just the right size very clean, however did stub my toe as its a pepple floor, but not a big hay.
The rooms where excellent they where of the right size for the two off us, decent amout of storage, large fridge cooking facilties ectra. The bathroom was wonderful just the right size very clean. (No bath but that didnt bover us, as we normally have a shower)
Overall was the best hoilday we had ever had and would highly recommend going to these apartments if you decided to gol to this part of Greece.

We have just returned from an excellent holiday at this resort. The apartments were clean, and spacious and a first for us ,the air conditioning was free. The only downside to this accommodation was the owners. They were not unfriendly jsut dis-interested.At least 12 people were boarding the coach to the airport and they did not turn out to say goodbye to anyone. This is also a first in 20 years in Greece for us. Compare that level of service with the service we received in a local taverna Freddies. This small taverna is 20metres along from the bakery nearly opposite the supermarket. We ate on the front in some good tavernas but the very best traditional food was definately at Freddie's. We were told of the taverna by some people who were waiting to go home , and for this we were extremely thankful. Nothing was too much trouble for Dona.Whatever meal you chose was freshly made that day (not frozen and then put in the microwave)and the meat used in her recipes was the best in the resort. One night kleftico was not on the menu and we asked Dona if she cooked it. She said yes but at the moment best lamb was very expensive and she would not use cheaper cuts of meat so had therefore taken it off the menu. She agreed to go to the butcher especially for us the next day and cook it for that night. One of the best klefticos we have ever tasted and it was still cheaper than eating in the beach front tavernas. We did not have a bad meal anywhere but If you are going to polychrono on holiday then do not miss this taverna. it looks like a snack bar but the food and wine are the best in the resort.

We have just returned from a lovely holiday with friends at the Royal Kostas apartments. The apartments were modern, clean and spacious. Our 2 bed apartment had twin beds in one room and a double bed in the other and a t.v. in each but no English channels. The kitchen area was in the entrance hall, and adequately equipped for simple catering. The balconies were spacious and each had tables and chairs. There was no drying line provided. Our friends found their studio similarly good but like us would have liked a window in the bathroom for better ventilation. The shower cubicles and bathrooms were good.
On arrival, we had a long wait while each party had cases taken up to their rooms and shutters explained, which was kind of them in a way. No smiles or signing in or passports taken etc. Being a foursome we didn't mix much so see other reviews for bar prices and barbecue comments. Kostas or his daughter had to escort us to the secure safety deposit box area.
A lot of guests spent time by the small pool which was part shaded by the block not in the brochure and got to know Alex the friendly barman better.
The comments we read before going, described the narrow coarse sand/pebbly beach well. The sea, once you'd negotiated the pebbly shelf at the edge, was safe, deeply shelving, lovely and clear and enjoyed by toddlers in arm bands as well as others. At least the sand didn't blow in your eyes. It was a short walk along the lane, across a busy dual road with lights and down a shopping street to the prom. Down there were some brilliant tavernas- we would especially recommend Flegra, Nefeli and Aypa for their Greek food and welcome. Up a side street we ate once at the Tulip restaurant which was a bit cheaper and had a non greek menu too. All of them gave us complimentary desserts. We enjoyed choosing 2 starters each to make a filling meze meal.
One day we walked for an hour to nearby Hanioti. Because of a shower we didn't see all the seafront I think. Another day we spent 1 euro 40 single again on local bus to Kallithea. It was quite a climb down steps or a long slope at other end to the lovely soft sand beach which shelved very gently out in to the sea . I couldn't get far enough out to swim! Not many facilities down there but we enjoyed a lovely lunch at the friendly Afroditi taverna and could change there in clean comfort.
All things considered, we preferred Polychrono and would recommend the Kostas apartments.

We booked a late deal one day before departure, and I must admit we felt a little unsecured as this was our first last minute holiday. The only problem that arose from this was when we arrived at the apartments, the owners didn't speak much English and my name had been rang through to them with a little mis-communication along the way.
A few minutes delay only and then we were taken to our room. From that point on I was pleasantly surprised. A very laid back, friendly, family run business. Very clean, acceptable apartments with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Charming small family dog that will entertain for hours. I can't think of any bad points that would ruin your stay, and our neighbours at the time agreed it was the best apartment they had used in Greece so far.
Situated behind is a vast, open forest type landscape for the walking enthusiast, and to the front is a quad bike renting shop for the those who aren't. all in all a quiet resort, with lots of restaurants and few bars, great for a relaxing time with your partner, double the fun if you can get last minute at a bargain price. Any doubt about Kostas, there is no need, enjoy!
For those that must know about all minor bothers...
Large road between resort and hotel, although a timed crossing is always active and the road is rarely busy.
Electric cooking hobs don't turn off when in the knob is on the "off" position.
Solution: unplug when not using.

loved polychrono a lovely area to stay and very welcomming to all visitors our favourite restaurant was the aypa on beachfront next door to the hotel jean marie the staff were just first class and nothing was too much trouble for them you could not fault them in any way they would cook anything you asked them for even it was not on the menu very reasonable rates and huge portions and to top it all they gave you free puddings would give them ten out of ten
a big thank you to all the staff working there
stayed at the royal kostas very clean and friendly place to stay met some lovely fellow travellers would highly reccomend to all ages only downfall is the extremely busy road to cross to get to beach also only one cash machine in local area so travel card users were limited when empty
