We loved this villa! We stayed for two weeks and had an amazing time.
The directions to find the place were vague, so we had a little difficulty getting there, but once we found it, we were delighted! The directions instructed us to turn right after George's Ranch on the bend, near a sign with Greek writing! Well there were several bends and Greek signs in Cyprus!
The villa was clean and well presented and the pool was plenty big enough for all of us and kept us all amused daily!
Around and about in Paphos.
Well for those looking for an action packed adventure holiday, Cyprus wouldn't be the place for you. There's very little to do there other than kick back and enjoy the weather. Unfortunately, Coral Bay and Paphos appear to be very commercial places and full of tat shops for the tourist.
You won't be short of places to eat though! The food was inexpensive and very enjoyable. Try out the Coral Breeze Restaurant! They were lovely people and had an extensive menu with a special on each night. (Their Chicken and Mushroom pie was better than Mother could cook!) We ate there so often, they even gave us free drinks on our last night. Truly lovely people.
The only negative point of the holiday was the travel company we went with! Never again! Sorry Thomson, but you get named and shamed! You were awful! The most unhelpful people I have ever met, well when we did meet you! We didn't see a rep for the entire two weeks of our stay, the greeting at the airport was a grunt and a nod and nothing more. The car they organised for us was a wreck with a dodgy paint job and one whole hubcap! On the occasions I called up for assistance, I was told to call back the next day. On calling back the next day, I was once again told to 'call back tomorrow'. In the end, we gave up trying!
In truth, I think Cyprus is in the middle of a refurb. There's a lot of building work currently and new villa's are being built daily. Unfortunately, they're so busy concentrating on the villas, no one has thought to add any amusement for the tourists. There is a Go Kart centre just down the road from the villa, but it proved expensive, although great fun. At the time we were there, it was £8 CYP for 12 minutes.
The Supermarkets are fairly expensive too, so stay away from the main streets and hunt down the back street shops for a cheaper deal. There appeared to be a very regular bus service for anyone who needed it, but if you stay in the Cyclamen Villa, I would guess you would have a car as it's several miles away from the closest resorts.
10/10 for the villa! We had a fantastic time there and couldn't fault it. The surrounding area is very quiet which was a pleasure. One word of caution, watch out for the Mozzies! We had some dreadful bites so take plenty of spray with you.
