Hotel Platjador

We stayed at the Platjador for 11 nights in July. This was our second visit and this time we treated ourselves to a room with a sea-view and a balcony. Overlooking the street and the promenade it was great for people watching and relaxing. The balcony doors were well sound-proofed and with the double set of curtains drawn the room was really peaceful. The only drawback was a very hard mattress on the double bed. I was in the hotel at the beginning of August. I booked a double room there being encouraged mainly by the report I read on it in tripadvisor and I should confess there were accurate. The hotel is a three stars one, perfectly located on the beach and very close to all clubs, bars etc. Location is the main advantage of Platjador. Having booked a HB service I feel lucky that I had the chance to taste excellent dinners at the very low price of 9 euros per person. I stayed here for 7 days and can say it is one of the best hotels I've been in for a while. The staff are all helpful, it is clean and the food great. Just over the road from the beach means you don't have far to go if you just want to laze away your day. The pool is also a nice spot and the roof top bar/lounge a great place to start your evening off or just relax there watching the sun go down and the moom rise over the Med. The night life it's just around the corner and all over the place so all in all it's very well located.

My friend and I stayed at the Hotel Platjador this month for 5 nights and had a great time. Helpful staff, clean rooms and a good location make this a jewel of a place to go. One of the highlights of staying there has to be Carmen, your hostess on the terrace....make sure you try one of her Mojito's (made with fresh mint plucked by her from the window box!!) and take in the great sea views at the same time.

We travelled to this hotel in May. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children - 7 months and 6 years. Overall this hotel was very clean with quite basic bedrooms but a spectacular location! The hotel is 1 min from the beautiful beach, right on its doorstep! Sitges is a beautiful little gem with a fantastic beach. We enjoyed our stay so much, we never got to Barcelona city. We arrived at the Platjador 2 hours early with no problems checking in. We used an extremely small elevator to the second floor and found our room to be clean and spacious. The hotel could be noisy at times, we had a room opposite the stairs and could hear people walk past. However, this was only a small gripe and a couple of earplugs soon meant we could have a nice afternoon siesta if needs be. We have just returned from a week's holiday staying at the Platjador and were very pleased with the hotel, specially the location directly overlooking the sea front and close to all the shops and bars. We had rooms overlooking the swimming pool and on the minus side found that it was noisy at night so we had to sleep with the windows shut which was not a problem as it wasnt that hot but I would imagine it to be a problem in the season, on the plus side we were very impressed with the standard of cleanliness and the fact that all the linen... more

clean modernised hotel on the seafront. Good buffet breakfast. Be aware however that the hotel takes group bookings so you could be kept awake by teenagers running around the corridors at night.

Booked the Platjador using the comments on this site and was expecting an average hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised. Firstly the hotel is in a fantastic location - on the beach front and at the centre of town. The bars, restaurants and even the station are within 5 minutes walking distance. The room we had was out at the back, facing the swimming pool. The biggest strength of this hotel is also its biggest weakness - the location. Right on the sea front with wonderful views (if you get a room at the front) it also means it suffers from a lot of noise from traffic and general bar and people noise. As others have said, if you want a room at the front, then try and go for those set back a little. These also have balconies and will give you a little bit more protection from the noise.
