Richemond Hotel

Pretty average Hotel - it has some charm but is also ageing.
Rooms at the front have a good view of Mount Blanc - back rooms overlook the bus stop - but its not to bad - girlfriend moaned about traffic and old wallpaper - I did not notice. Fairly comfy beds - toilet bidet OK shower room is really small.
Very friendly helpful staff. Good location for 1) Bus stop - This is important as Chamonix is bus linked resort - the stop just out the back of the hotel is for all the locations - a bonus. 2) Exploring the town - pop out the front and it is all there for you. 3) Ski shop Intersport is 20 M to the left - forget what the Rep tells you or you will be walking 1 mile across town lugging boots and skis. You get a discount for being at the Hotel Richemond too.
They don’t do half board anymore - so you have to eat out - which is great - but it is very tempting to go for the better menus - we had a gatronomique extravaganza - but came home skint - but you don’t have to. There are plenty of cheap options available.
Le Pub opposite is good atmospheric and reasonably priced. Watch out for the club/bar just to the left - great karaoke+ old films and stuff - but you pay through the nose for it.
Hotel has a small tatty games room - and a non smoking lounge -nice and sedate. The bar is just part of the lobby - but they do have an open fire on some times - which makes a huge difference.
The breakfast is the standard help yourself to cereal boiled eggs meat and bread. Sufficient - good view of Mt Blanc again.
