" two travellers very young 65years.... "

two travellers very young 65years. staff at hotel lovely and very very clean.

downside. we were on first floor and be warned only one or two bathrooms have baths most are just a shower cubicle. very very noisy. English evenings downstairs in basements only a couple of times in the week and for 1 yes one hour and smoking allowed as well. no air con.

in the main area it is nearly always spanish and outsiders are allowed in. they are locals who have it off to a fine art and always come in whilst residents are at dinner so even if you want to hear to music you cannot get a nice seat. the music is very very loud and goes on until 11.45pm. there is no way of blocking it out of your room. this bar is also open until 1am so you get a double whammy. everyone was complaining about it and the excuse was that they rely on the locals in the winter.

the food is mediocre plain english breakfast and the evening meal very english and not a lot of choice.

4t no way. we have been to many hotels and this is the first time we were glad to be coming home.

would never go again.

also CHILDREN are allowed in despite what the brochure says.

" We had a great holiday at this Hotel.... "

We had a great holiday at this Hotel. The rooms were first class (we even had bathrobes) and were left spotless every day by the cleaners. The food was superb with so much choice. The entertainment provided was good but some of the other guests were a bit stuffy and would not participate. The Hotel has an excellent location almost on the beach and close to the Marina. We would certainly go back again!

" Just returned from this hotel after a... "

Just returned from this hotel after a weeks stay. Generally this hotel is very good but but one aspect to consider is the evening entertainment. It is is very Spanish biased and where they attempt to cater for Brits the standard is very poor, that said there are plenty of other options in the evenings outside from the hotel. The staff are freindly and the food is of a good enough standard. It should be noted that this hotel has a very small pool area located on the first floor so perhaps the beach is the only option in this department.

" Not much to add to the previous... "

Not much to add to the previous comments, really, just to emphasise how very nice this hotel is, with really great, friendly, staff throughout. We visited with my elderly parents, and the area was ideal for walking on the flat for them. Particular mention must go to Maria in the restaurant, as when my Mum wasn`t too well, she was kindness itself, insisting that food be sent up to her. We were really looked after, and felt valued as guests. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone, though a tip would be-if you`re not a good traveller,or it`s getting late, take a taxi from the airport,as we took 2hrs to do what is in effect, a 40 minute journey. There were just too many people to be dropped off! That fact that the Thomson rep was hardly ever there didn`t bother us at all, as the staff at reception were all very helpful about what to see, where to go, etc. Particularly liked the lovely armchairs in reception, and try the hotels` hot chocolate!!!

" This was our second visit. Wonderful,... "

This was our second visit. Wonderful, brand new, clean hotel, friendly staff and many guests we have seen before.

We had a superior room with a window down all of one side, great to wake up to the sun rising over the sea. Weather was very good, especially for walking. Food always hot and the best we have had in Spain. We have stayed in the other two Thomson hotels in Fuengirola. The Florida is far the best.

The only down point is the slow drive to the airport, picking people up at other hotels along the way. December is a good quiet time to enjoy the sun while all of the people at home are shopping for Christmas.

" The hotel was less than a year old... "

The hotel was less than a year old and was well-designed but the room cleaning was below standard.

The staff were generally very friendly, with one exception.

Hotel entertainment was provided but seemed to attract locals, rather than hotel guests - appropriate entertainment needs to be researched and amended to meet the need of holidaymakers.

Thomsons stated that the hotel was adult-only but this was not the case, although it was not a huge problem.

Fuengirola, as a resort, was perfectly adequate and the hotel was close to the sea.

" My husband and I have just returned... "

My husband and I have just returned from a perfect weeks holidays staying at the Florida Spa Hotel in Fuengirola and cannot rate this hotel highly enough.

This hotel is advertised by Thomsons as an adult only hotel but there were quite a few children staying when we there which was not a problem.

The location was perfect, just steps away from the beach front and all the bars and entertainment were on the doorstep.

The rooms are not huge but big enough to be comfortable, as the hotel is newly refurbished everything is spotlessly clean.

All rooms (I think) have a beautiful sea view, beds are very comfortable, satellite wall mounted flat screenTV's in every room, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, as well as lovely soft white bath towels you are provided with coloured towels for pool. Good hairdryers in bathroom and lovely bath robes.

All rooms have good air conditioning and also a very large electric fan over beds so heat was never a problem in the room. All rooms have a safe.

The meals in the hotel were the best we have ever had, buffet style meals with plenty of choice and perfectly cooked. The service is second to none , staff are chatty and very friendly and cannot do enough to help.

Although we never stayed for the nightly entertainment we did notice lots of people enjoying it. They had bingo and dancing, various singers and even a ballet show which we caught 10 mins of and it was very good.

The drinks are very well priced and spirit amounts are really good. I had a Bailey's one night and couldn't believe the amount I was given. It was served in a huge brandy glass and was half full. I so love baileys but I couldn't finish it.

Although you are in the thick of things, once your balcony doors are closed you cannot hear anything so noise is not a problem. There are lots of things to do. We had a trip to Gibraltar which was good and a trip to Morocco which was brilliant.

Fuengirloa is flat so walking around is no problem, it is ideal for anyone with walking difficulties. There is a good bus service about 5 mins walk but I would recommend the train service which is also only a five minute pleasant walk past all the shops and it goes to Malaga and is much quicker than the bus, cheap clean and apparently always on time.

Fuengirola has a huge market every Tuesday which we missed (I have been before and it is well worth a visit) so we took the train to Benalmadena and went to a lovely market there. We also took the train to Torromolinos for a night out in San Micheal square where there are lots of things going on and is a really enjoyable night.

Outside of the hotel are horses and carriages which will take you around the town. It is quite expensive (€20) but is a lovely ride at night time. There is also a small train which continually runs the length of the seafront. I never went on it so I don't know the price but it was very popular.

The pool at the hotel is not that big but there was never many people in so always quiet if you wanted a swim, always lots of sunbeds available. I didn't use the spa in the hotel so cannot really comment on it but everyone we spoke to who had used it said it was lovely.
English newspapers are available everyday down in the foyer.

" Having stayed in Fuengirola before at... "

Having stayed in Fuengirola before at the Yaramer Hotel we became aware of the opening of a sister hotel - Florida Spa. We booked our flights with Monarch and the rooms through Thomson, saving us £150 over the Thomson package price.

ARRIVAL
The reception area is stunning with a friendly and helpful receptionist and a porter/concierge who falls over himself to help you. Your bags are taken to your room and check in is quick and easy.

LOCATION
The front of the hotel looks over the Eastern side of the Marina. The upper floors have wide views whereas the lower floor have slightly restricted views due to surrounding buildings.

ROOMS
The room is modern and functional. Firm but comfortable beds, laminate flooring, and an LCD TV on the wall with BBC 1, BBC 2, ITV, ITV 3, SKY News amongst others. You can have unlimited use of films for 10 Euros a day. Room is not massive but is nice. Free safe and large number of hangers. Bathroom is modern but the shower leaks water over the floor due to its poor design.

RESTAURANT
This is better than the Yaramer. Food hot, tasty and with good variety. Local and International food. Massive amounts of salad and fresh fruit. Probably the best hotel food we have ever had. It is a buffet breakfast and buffet evening meal between 1830 and 2130.

POOL
Overlooked on all sides but buildings but it is not intrusive and protects from the wind. Small area capable of holding about 120 sun beds which could be a problem when hotel is full

ENTERTAINMENT
Suited us down to the ground. Weds - Sun is a pianist (Used to play at the Yaramer). Mon - Fri - Bingo at 2130. Mon and Tues there is a fab duet that sing and play guitars and drums. Lots of locals come in and dance and there is a really good atmosphere.

BAR
Excellent service. Very quick with a good choice of rinks at an exceptional price. EG. Massive Sangria - 3 Euros. Cocktails - 3 Euros. Spirits are also huge in quantity.

SPA
Wonderful SPA free of charge to guests. Do not be tempted to miss this it is fantastic. Sauna, steam room, huge jacuzzi and heated pool. Massages at a price.

ADVICE
If you use taxi to and from the airport DO NOT pay more than 33 Euros (Book price)

Don't buy newspapers - There are free English newspapers at reception

Don't bother with the Thomson rep - they were rarely there and not much help. Use the Hotel reception for advice and tours.

Thomson say this is a child free hotel - It is not. There are many ways of booking at this hotel and there were a number of families there.
