Lovely old Inn with accommodation attached. We only stayed for one night (Sunday) as part of a long weekend but enjoyed our stay immensely.
The room we stayed in (no 3) was adequate in size rather than spacious but had everything we needed and was attractively presented. There were also a couple of extras not normally found in hotels - bottled water, hot chocolate, box of tissues and a decent hairdryer! The bed was very comfortable but only a standard double size. The bathroom was modern with a drench type shower but no extractor fan so it got quite steamed up and also the bath was very slippery and could have done with a shower mat in it. Everywhere was clean and tidy and well cared for.
We had a light evening meal in the non-smoking lounge which is very relaxed with big leather sofas and a feature fireplace. I had the salmon and crayfish risotto which was fabulous. The main restaurant looked lovely and I'm sure the food would have been great based on the risotto I had. Breakfast was very generous full English with good quality bacon and sausages which I can highly recommend.
Book direct with the hotel to get the breakfast included in the price! All the staff were extremely polite and efficient and I would certainly look forward to staying there in the future.
