We have just arrived home from these apartments and I must say I was delighted with everything about them, particularly the staff who I must say went out of there way to be helpful. The apartments themselves were spotless and had everything you would need. We were on the 3rd floor with young children and I was worried before going about the balconies but found them to be very well enclosed and had no worries of accidents. the pool area was not officially open yet but there was no problem about using this or the indoor pool. There is also a playground on site which is great. I read some reviews before I went that were mixed but am delighted we picked here. It is a 10 min walk to Port Aventura and to a great beech. I would highly recommend these apartments.

After reading reviews b4 departing was a bit apprehensive but need not worry. It is best to have a single transfer if you have to collect keys from Salou Suites as you cannot do two stops with multi drop transport (check with your travel agents). We found this OK. One review said check in was strict at 4-5pm was a bit concerned about this as we had an early flight but we were OK was in our apartment just after 10 in the morning. The apartment was great only 2 of us but had a two bed apartment with two bathrooms a well equipped kitchen and a utility room with washing machine (if you need it). Towels were plenty no maid service as such although I did make own bed every day and once they came in and gave us lots more clean towels. We had two huge balconies so could dry towels outside on airer. One downfall was we were right next to a coach park but I must say they did not distrub us at all all windows had heavy shutters to put down of a night and day so kept apartment cool during the day and blocked out lots of noise at night. Also room was air conditioned - we had to turn off as too chilly at this time of year but I would think in height of summer would be needed. No entertainment at these apartments of its own but our balcony overlooked hotel opposite and their entertainment spilled out of their open doors so we could enjoy their music etc. Everything (beach and shops) 5 mins walk away but a pleasant walk and lots of bars and things to see on way also was only about 15-20 mins walk away from Portaventura theme park. All in all had a great week away.

We'd read lots of reviews b4 going, esp at holidaywatchdog.com, so there were no surprises. As a result, holiday was near perfect! Keys have to be collected from Salou Suites apartments (check with your booking agent, ours was alpharooms), which are 5 mins away by car, 15 by walk. 100 euro deposit for keys, refunded. directions now well posted on the entrance, which is occasionally manned, though not for check-ins!. We arrived by ryanair early, knowing checkin 4-5pm. Left luggage in car in apartments secure underground car park having picked up fob for this from salou suites, then explored town. I would recommend hiring a car, as gives greater flexibility.
These are the most expensive apartments in Salou, and they are worth it... 900sq ft 2 bed apartment, clean, funished by IKEA!, en suite to master, all you need re white goods/kitchen appliances, locked compound so safe, and a lovely 10-15m sqaure pool, separate kids pool! To top it off, an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Gym equipped with most kit incl weights. Opening times for gym/spa may be shorter in winter months. We took a cheap DVD player to hook up to the 32inch LCD as no english channels.
Located on edge of port aventura grounds, 10 mins walk to entrance. 10 min walk to beach, 5 mins to main strip.
Would recommend car - drive along T700/T704 through mountains west of montblanc fun even in feista deisel, DVD player, aquopolis water park in la pineada. Aqualeon water park not as good, 1 hr to get too. Go water parks early. Never went port aventura, kids too small.
If you want to live amongst all the noise, be surrounded by brits, be right next to the beach, this place is not for you.
Having stayed in 5* hotels in barca and madrid, incl hotel arts, if you can live without a poolside bar, room service and daily towel change (think of the environment), this is the best place i have stayed in spain by far.... We ate out every night, and breakfast easier with kids. nb. orange minimarket near town centre cheapest for spirits, food supermarkets everywhere. Will definately recommend and use again.

After arriving at the apartments at...

Oct 2007, Mrs Morag Gordon

After arriving at the apartments at 11am with two young children in tow we found that there was no way of entering the complex, we could see the reception area but the door to it was locked and unmanned and remained that way for the whole week we were there. We were not given any instructions as to where the keys could be picked up from.
When we eventually managed to get in we then spent another half hour trying to find someone to give us keys and show us where to go. The deposit for the room cost us 50euros which I begrudged paying after already paying a lot of money for the holiday anyway.
We found the apartment to be spacious and fairly clean although on closer inspection the floors were really filthy. The day before we left we found a kettle in a top cupboard cunningly disguised as a plastic jug!!! we had been boiling water in a pan for 5 days. All instructions for appliances were in Spanish. The towels were never changed I had to buy washing powder and do it myself, which kind of defeats the purpose of going on holiday.
We also came home one evening to find that someone had been into our apartment when we were out and replaced three blown light bulbs without our consent. We also found there was no airer on our balcony for drying our swimming gear, don't put your things on the balcony to dry they will blow off and you will have great difficulty getting them back.
The staff within the complex (if you can find any) were very rude and unhelpful. The indoor swimming pool does not open until 5pm each evening so if its raining, tough. The week we stayed we found out there was a road rally going on right at the back of our apartment where the bedrooms are situated and that kicked off at 5am every morning.
All in all I would not reccomend these apartments to anyone in fact they should be avoided at all costs.

Sep 2007, Mrs M Mc Gonigle

We landed on 24th August 2007. We travelled on LTE airlines, treated extremely well. The only problem was the seats were too close together. We arrived at apartments at approximately 4pm. A lady met us at the entrance with keys.
The apartment was very, very nice, very large, had washing machine which I found to be a god send. Could have done with a quarter of the clothes we brought with us. Large balcony which was great. We also had air conditioning which is a must. The only downside of apartment was the T.V. had no English speaking channels.
The pool was great, not many people in it, spotlessly clean. We never got to use the jacuzzi or indoor pool. 15 minute walk to Port Aventura, 10 minute walk to beach through shops and a 10 minute taxi ride to the water park, which cost €15 to the park and €8.45 on return journey.
The beach is very clean with banana boat rides and jet skies. The beach was packed. On morning of departure we had to leave apartments at 10am, return keys to same lady and collect deposit. We stored our luggage in one of the apartments until about 3 hours before departure. When we walked down the street we were shaded by big trees, which was great as we had a 10 week old baby. The supermarket was 5 minutes away, a well stocked supermarket. We were impressed with this area as it was so clean. I would definitely go back.

Hello there!!! Me and my family of...

Sep 2007, whiston

Hello there!!! Me and my family of four have just arrived back from Aqquaria Apartments in Salou. And previously said its true there is no reception so you do have to collect keys to get in the apartments from another hotel called (Salou Suite) which is ruffly a 25 minute walk or a ten minute taxi!!! Which is what we done once we found out were to go, it cost just under ten euro.
Once we got in the apartments we were very surprised how big it was with seven beds in!!! Had lovely modern living area and fitted kitchen oh yes we did get a kettle and worked out how to use the washing machine!
It's quite close to all the shops, bars and restaurant we really liked the Titanic bar which was full of english and served lovely food day and night and entertainment was great and only round the corner!
Anyway we had a great holiday in the end the only thing I would say it is more for residencial people and not holiday makers and is a shame there is no entertainment or a bar to get refreshments while sitting round the pool, but food and drinks not allowed!!! But am sure who ever goes will have a great time!!

The apartments are quite large, nice...

Jul 2007, Mrs K Beaumont

The apartments are quite large, nice big balconies, nicely furnished though not very well equipped with cooking utensils. Don’t expect to cook a meal, not enough pans and no kettle. The apartments have excellent fridges, washing machine, and microwave with no instructions.
The pool area is very nice, but disappointingly no sun beds are available. The apartments are located within 15 mins walk of Portaventura and 10 mins to beach. The main snag with this holiday booked through travel republic (jumbo tours) was they didn’t tell you that you had to collect your keys from another hotel. We arrived, having let our taxi go to realise there was no reception and some scrawled map as an explanatation as to where your keys were. (taxis are not easy to find in the area and well done to everyone else who located the hotel without assistance, sadly that wasn’t us). 2 hours after arriving we finally had the keys only to find the 5 o clock check in time is very strict. All the hassle we had in locating the keys (you have to leave 100 euros deposit by the way in cash) could have been avoided if we had known before hand.
So please enjoy your holiday but find out where your keys are before you leave UK and collect them on route from the airport.

The travel: Firstly I would not...
7 / 10
Jul 2007, Mr Mike K

The travel:
Firstly I would not travel anywhere with Ryanair, as we witnessed countless customers being treated very discourteously by check in staff in relation to baggage allowance.
In case people are not aware we witnessed the following scenario several times. A family of say four people, 2 adults and 2 small children have paid for full baggage allowance i.e. 60kg. They arrive with 2 suitcases weighing approx 18 kgs each.
Check in staff then demand extra payment stating that they are only allowed to take 15kgs per case and therefore must pay an excess for 6kgs. This was despite the fact that they were 14kgs in total underweight and having already paid for 60 kgs!
They were told that they should have a separate suitcase for all travellers’ even children! Imagine the difficulties this would pose to people especially families trying to load cars, taxis etc.
The very people who were under the most stress, people with small children, were ordered to rejoin the end of the queue and to re- arrange their luggage. As stated earlier we saw this take place many times. We felt that this was nothing more than a money making ploy by RYANAIR with little or no consideration for the fare paying passenger. So you have been warned!
The Aqquaria:
Overall the apartment was of a very good standard. It was clean and comfortable; however they are not suitable for those who are slightly infirm as they are built on a slight slope.
Our biggest complaint would be that after arrival at the apartments, there was no reception nor contact point/person. We were hot and tired and only learnt from other guests who had been through the same ordeal that we had to collect our keys from another hotel (sorry can't remember the name) a short taxi ride away.
There were not even signs displayed to advise us of where to go. We did not actually enter our apartment until 10.30pm despite arriving at the Aqquaria approx. 8.00pm.
Minor complaints would be no kettle in apartment and leaking plumbing/ceiling in the bathroom. These were not addressed despite once again having to go by taxi to the same hotel where we had collected the keys from, to complain. Also there were no sunbeds available anywhere.
Check out was at 10.00am which we found to be a bit on the early side, especially as we had an early evening return flight. Once again the keys have to be returned to the same hotel from where we had to collect them from (another taxi ride away) and to enable us to collect our 100 Euros deposit.
We understand that the apartments were only built a couple of years ago and yes they are very good but the organisation that runs them leaves a lot to be desired on the customer service side of things. If you learn from our experience, you will have a very good stay here.
