Thieves and disinterested staff!
from michaelapg
Our flight was delayed which resulted in us arriving at 6 in the morning. The guy on reception was not intersted in checking us in and couldn't be bothered in giving us any informaiton, we were tired and just went off to bed. The rooms were fine (we had booked 2 rooms for 4 people) but as a result of the fact we were not given any info on check in, we couldn't turn the air conditiong off as we had not been told we needed a remote and we didn't get a safe deposit box. Unfortuantely we were then broken into and had everything stolen including phones, ipods, money, even clothes and perfume! The staff at the hotel were not concerned and made out as if it were a rare occurrance. No so, during the week around 30 rooms were broken into, all of which were not forced entry. My advice, stay away unless you want a bad holiday!
Stay well away - theifs!

Upon arriving we were made to wait around by arrogant staff who didn't have a clue what to do and couldn't be bothered either, their mood didn't change all holiday, the room we was given hadn't been cleaned and had to wait untill morning before we were moved, the air con unit stank and i'm sure its gave us all bad throats. The pool was never cleaned once in 6 days and to top it all off - OUR ROOM WAS BROKEN INTO BY SOMEONE WITH A KEY, along with another approx 15 rooms on the complex, the staff at reception tried to hesitate us calling the police however we managed to ring them and they arrived an hour later to take statements. The manager wasn't interested and just pointed to a sign that says something like "THE MANAGEMENT ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILTY FOR LOSSES". Unless you want to get your things stolen, treated like rubbish and stay in a dirty hotel, STAY AWAY!!!!!
Great for a family holiday

We travelled to Ibiza for a girls holiday so was a little disappointed to see how far out the hotel was from Ibiza town since we had been the month previous and been a lot closer. However, after a rude manner from staff at check-in and a LONG wait, we were shown to our room which was very spacious with a nice little balcony. HOWEVER, the shower curtain rail was being held up by a piece of string and the door of the toilet would not open when I went to the loo so when the cleaners came and opened it we weren't able to shut the door for fear of a repeat - even when we were doing a poo!! The hotel iteself is based toward the Port des Torrent beach which isnt really in the heart of San Antonio at all, it therefore means that if you want a night out you have to wait AGES for a cab because people staying in the hotels closest to the town get the cabs first. This is why i would recommend the hotel for a family. It is near restaurants and shops and the beautiful port des torrent beach, however, it is not easy to get to san antonio town where all the clubs are. There were mainly families staying and there is a gym and two pools - one for adults, one for children. the grounds have lots of plants are really pretty too. The room was clean and comfy and I would stay here again, maybe if visiting with my boyfriend as opposed to the girls. Good for the price, just not what we needed at the time
Over Rated & too noisy

After it taking 3 hours to wait for the transfer and arrive at the hotel I wasn't in a partying mood as we arrived at 6.30am. When myself and my fiance arrived we were 'greeted' by a very rude chinese man who didn't speak english or spanish. He looked at us as though we didn't have a room paid for but eventually he managed to find our details. He pointed outside towards our apartment so off we went. The complex is huge and when we got to the first block we saw a man with his young child who couldn't get into their room because it was flooded. Brilliant. Our room on the other hand was fine. 4 beds and a small kitchenette. All the cups/plates etc were there (some reviews said there were none) so we went to sleep. The main pool is fairly big but, but seeing as there was a kids pool they all seemed to be diving in the adults one. The music around the pool was repeated after every 6 songs so in the end I bought my cd's down and they played them without a problem because it was annoying everyone. The next night I was woken up at 5am (having only had half an hours sleep) by an annoying girl who seemed to bang on someones door for about an hour (anyone else would have realised after 3 knocks that no one was in). The next night the alarm went off 4 times and the same chinese man just sat there and found it amusing. The third night some plonker decided to shout outside my door at 5am...then....a man & his girlfriend were arguing, then he decided to beat the living daylights out of her for an hour & they only shut up once I went out there. The hotel staff don't seem to care about the amount of noise going on inside the hotel. I could understand if it was music because people are getting ready to go out but this type of non-stop noise done mine, and my fiance's head in. The hotel is over rated and seemd to be full of screaming immature 'adults'. That part of Ibiza is for clubbing and enjoying yourself, hotels are for relaxing not partying. Half of them seemed to have it twisted into thinking that the hotel was a club. As for the 'resturant' it was nowhere to be seen. I payed £200 less last year to stay in a hostel in San antonio and I have to say that was 10x better than the Maritim. Never again.
Clean but Very noisey!!!!

We have just returned from one weeks stay at the Club Maritim on half board basis. We were fed up with the British summer weather and booked it as a last minute family holiday. Our family consists of 2 adults and 2 children aged 15 & 13. As we have never booked anything last minute we were a bit concerned what we had let ourselves in for, especially as it was Ibiza, but decided that a week of sun would be worth it. We booked though Sunmaster and had a couple of problems with them, they took the flight money twice and “forgot” to refund it and were slow to e-mail the tickets, but we managed to get it all sorted out after a couple of ‘phone calls. We arrived at the apartments at 6am and were quickly shown to our room, which consisted of 5 beds, even though there were only 4 of us, a small kitchen area and a table and chairs and a bathroom. We were pleasantly surprised as it was very clean and appeared very quiet. We were expecting some noise from party revellers returning home from the clubs drunk. As we hadn’t had any sleep for almost 24 hours we all headed off to bed for a few hours. So far so good! We came down a few hours later for breakfast and having looked all around the complex for the restaurant and not being able to find it we asked at reception, who informed us that all meals were to be taken at their sister hotel up the road!. Shame no-one mentioned this before. Meals were provided on a buffet system and the food was varied and acceptable. Kids found it a little difficult to find something to eat, but that was mainly due to the fact that they don’t eat salad and won’t try anything different, but at least chips were on the menu!! Unfortunately, things took a bit of a down turn the next night as the two apartments next to us decided that they were going to party in their rooms 24/7 playing unbearably loud music. We asked them to turn the music down, which they did marginally, but it soon went back up to mega loud and by 4.30 am we had had enough! The kids managed to get some sleep, but only because we had had the foresight to pack ear plugs! We complained to reception the following day and not wishing to spoil anyone’s holiday we asked to be moved to a more family orientated block, only to be told that they were full and there were no rooms available. We were not the only people to complain and reception assured us that they would speak to them. However the next night was the same and on complaining again and asking to be moved, we were informed that the offenders had been told not to play loud music within the hotel, but they still didn’t have anywhere to move us to. We were also informed that they were Spanish, although we couldn’t understand why this would make any difference. Unfortunately, the music did not stop during the day so there was no respite and after another sleepless night the hotel management finally agreed to come to our room and “hear” for themselves. They were quite surprised to find that the music was not coming from the room next door to us, but the one next to that! They did speak to them again, but to no avail. Finally after three nights (and days) of constant music they managed to move us to another block. The room was quite a bit smaller, with no table or chairs, with a bath the size of a shower tray, but it was worth it for a decent nights sleep. We met several people who had not been allocated rooms and had to be moved several times and one group were turned away completely and sent to a different hotel as there were no rooms available, even though they had paid for them, so I guess we were quite lucky to be “housed” straight away. The walls are incredibly thin and if you are not plagued by loud music you can hear every single noise from next door. When your neighbours flush the toilet it sounds as though it is in your own room. There are several bars and eating houses just across the road from the hotel and the area is very well suited to self catering. There are two pools, the main one is very deep at one end and has a steep slope from the shallow end, which catches you our every time! There is not a life guard on duty at any time. The hotel puts large speakers out by the pool and plays music be request, but we came to the conclusion that there is actually only one CD available, which was played over and over again and once again very loudly!!! Watching the sunsets is a must and there are several spots you can do this from. The British Pub, just across the road was recommended to us as an eating house and just behind this is a lovely little bar overlooking the sea. All in all we would not recommend this hotel for families; it is much more geared to the single sex groups just needing somewhere to crash before hitting the town.
relaxing break
from neverfind98
Just got back from a very relaxing week in ibiza. with my husband and 2 children ( aged 9 and 7). Arrived at 1am and we were greeted by a very polite man who checked us in quickly. we had booked a 1 bedroomed appartment but we were given a studio. As it was the middle of the night we didn't want to move but first thing the next day reception were very apologetic and resolved the problem quickly. The studio appartment was of a good size with a small kitchen area and 1 wardrobe. The kitchen area had a fridge, sink and a hob with 2 rings. There was a frying pan, very little crockery and no cups or glasses. You can hire a kettle from reception, along with the remote for the air conditioning and t.v. The 1 and 2 bedroomed appartments were equipped more for self catering, with more crockery and utensils. These had a kitchen and dinning area as well as a living area with sofa bed. The rooms were cleaned 5 out of 7 days and the maids were lovely, nothing was a problem. The buildings and grounds were immaculate, the maintenance man was busy all day cutting hedges, the grass or painting There are 2 pools - a childrens pool with plenty of sunloungers and parasols. this was never busy and was a lovely area for younger children. The larger pool again had more than enough loungers and paprasols and was never busy. Both pools were very clean. Only complaint was the background music was the same cd on repeat all week, but not on very loud so you could ignore it. the bar on the complex was open all day and the staff were lovely, however the restaurant was closed while we were there but this isnt a problem as over the road from the complex there are lots of bars, shops and restaurnts to choose from. The complex was generally very quiet and although there were a few same sex groups on a clubbing holiday, we didnt hear them come home during the night (and we are very light sleepers). Within short walking distance from the complex there are fairground rides for children and a bus stop where you can get a bus to the beach or into san antonio bay for wilder nightlife. There is also a no.9 bus that runs all day on a loop to the airport. this is only 3 euros each and is much cheaper than the 30euros taxi fare. These appartments are an ideal base for a last minute, relaxing holiday. .
Good times

Booked this hotel on the strength of 1 good review! A risk but the deal was good. Stayed on the first floor, view was awful, but very little time in such a good climate is spent in a hotel room. I liked the small buildings which gave it less of a large complex feel and it was quiet enough at night with the location being quite far into the bay of San Antonio. Water taxi into San Antionio is a must as it's a long walk from here to the town. Situated in the bay, there are plenty of bars and restaurants near by. Room was small but clean and comfortable, no complaints. Reception were helpful and it is manned 24/7. Overall I'd say it's 4/5.
Clean and tidy, i was 1 of the young 1s.......
from BlakeyChippingNorton
The apartments were nice and clean, i found it was full of youngsters so quiet noisey. San Antonia bay was lovely but i did find it a pain to get to San Antionia town...... We did walk it a few times and it takes a good 20mins. If i return, i would stay in the town. Id defo request a pool view as we had a view of a brick wall. Nice!!! But if you want a clean apartment in the Bay and dont mind abit of noise then its a good choose. At the end of the day, clean is really important.
Fantastic hotel.... but couldn't find any reviews!!

We have just returned from a week long stay at this hotel.... it was very last minute booking and I was a little worried when I couldn't find any reviews online! The hotel turned out to be lovely, very clean and spacious. We stayed in a studio, complete with kitchen area, balcony overlooking the pool and satellite TV. The hotel had two pools, which were cleaned daily and surrounded by sun loungers. For an Ibiza hotel, it was amazingly quiet during the night (we've stayed in some before where the noise has only died down at about 5am!) The room was cleaned daily, with very friendly cleaning ladies! Bathroom had a standard bath/shower duo.... however there was a jacuzzi next to the gym downstairs. We didn't eat at the hotel.... but there are plenty of restaurants in the surrounding area as well as lots of supermarkets. Just opposite the hotel is a great place to watch the famous Ibiza sunset, right next to the Hippy Bar. Overall, this hotel was able to give us exactly what we needed for our stay - basic, clean, friendly and comfortable.
Too Noisy!
from cushytara
Great location, clean, recently refurbished hotel with helpful friendly staff. However, despite being advertised as a quiet and relaxing complex, it was 75% full of young noisy people coming in at all hours banging doors, shouting. swearing and playing music at full blast at 5am! Don't go here if you want a good night's sleep!
