Barcelo Maya Colonial Beach Hotel

We have just returned from the Barcelo Beach Resort. This is 4 resorts on one property. We stayed in the Colonial part of the resort. This is one of the two newer buildings. Good Points -If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay this is it. It is so spacious with so many pools you hardly bump into anyone. wife and i just retrned from the colonial and were a little worried as the price was too good !!! but it was great the buffets were great the rooms were very clean i wont repeat what other writers have alreday said but i swam in the pools every day... did not find them cold very refreshing in the 85 degree sun the service at the beach bars was kind of slow but no big deal the alacarte system need to be revamped the resturants are very hard to get reservations at but we will go back for sure victoria b.c

I've been on most costs of Mexico the last five years as well as in Cuba. I've been from everything from a 3 and a half star to a five. I'm in the younger age catagory being 22 years old. I just got back from the Colonial, we were there Feb. 16-21st. We went with another couple to celebrate our 40th birthdays. The hotel was great, the staff was awesome. When we were checking in, the hotel had booked us in the same room. So, it took a little extra time to get this resolved, but no big deal we were on vacation. We were there Feb 12-19. I wanted to add a few comments to those that have been written already-ie not go into huge detail about the appearance of the resort but provide a few insights that have not been shared. The resort is actually very nice and the rooms were some of the best I have seen on an all-inclusive type vacation. The concerns I had, that may or may not be of issue to others, are as follows.
