Barcelo Maya Caribe Beach Hotel

Wife & I have just returned from a 14 night stay at the Barcelo Maya. (Oct-Nov 2002) This all inclusive hotel is superb, you have to be a complete whinger to be displeased with this hotel. We had read all of the reviews before we went and I thought maybe we would be expecting too much. But it was amazing. Six nights was not enough. We were there from 26 Oct until 2 Nov 2002 and it was fabulous. The water around the hotel is a perect combination of sand and coral waters. Places to swim, places to play and places to explore the reef life. The pools are beautiful and virtually empty. My husband and I went to this beautiful resort in 2001. The hospitality was amazing. The food was excellent and the scenery was breathtaking. We are now in the process of planning another trip there in the summer of 2003. I would recommend this place of heaven to everyone!

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights. It was incredible. Granted, the drinks were weak, the meals got sort of old, but the beach, pools and water were just incredible! I've been to Maui and Costa Rica. This beats both by far! Secluded beach and resort. I beg every day to go again!

The Barcelo Maya is very, very nice, but a couple of things annoyed us. The beach is simply awesome. The rooms are nice, but not posh. The food is very good and breakfast is a highlight, but let's face it, a buffet can only be so good, and we wished we were given the flexibility to be able to eat in the restaurants more than just once. just returned from what has to be the best resort i have ever had the pleasure of living in for two weeks. after a eventful start to our holiday [ plane had to turn round and stop over in florida for 24 hours due to hurricane ] we finally arrived at the resort. i then spent the next 3 days saying at ever oppertunity " could this get any better " and of course it could and did . the meals were fantastic, so good we didnt even try the a'la'carte which was supposed to be flawless, just didnt want to be tied down to a time. the resort was... more

What a holiday! We got home yesterday. Six of my friends and family went from October 13 to October 19. Though the bus ride from Cancun was a bit long, once we got there, we were thoroughly impressed. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and clean, the beaches are fantastic fine sand and the service was fabulous. The drinks varied from bar to bar on quality, so we stuck to one. Here's the straight scoop...I have been going down south to escape cold winters for many years now and have stayed at some of the finest resorts and I will tell you that the Barcelo Maya was the finest. In terms of cleanliness, service, courteous staff and relaxing accoommodation, this resort deserves a 6 star! Exciting, vibrant and exotic nightly entertainment. BRILLIANT week spent at probably one of the top hotels complexes in the whole of the Cancun/Riviera coastline. You WONT be dissapointed. Superb food, Disco 11pm-2am adjacent glorious palm fringed beach, free drinks on tap, great evening entertainment (DONT miss the micheal Jackson show night)in a magnificent theatre. Suggest you find other sites under BARCELO MAYA GARDEN / BEACH HOTEL and believe it!!

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon at the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort. All I have to say is "Absolutely Perfect". Our room was amazing, even though we did not have a beach or pool view (very private). The room was always kept clean and the bar fridge was stocked every day. The grounds at this resort are so well kept and the staff couldn't be any nicer. The food left us feeling a little empty and my husband reacted to something he was eating. He was sick for the last couple of days there, but nothing a bit of medicine... more
