Jan 2008, Miss C Cowley

I stayed at the plaza back in sept 07 with 2 girlfriends ,i would def have to dis-agree with first comment made about the place.Yes it is basic but are'nt all self catering properties in greece. We enjoyed our stay at the plaza and all the staff were great ,our rooms were cleaned everyday and beds changed every other.cant fault the apts and i have def stayed in much worse.it's the resort itself that is a let down ,kavos has had its day, it's in need of a good clean up and when we went in sept 14th the place was shutting down .There was no night clubs open and alot of the nicer bars had also closed for the winter.and as for the the cockerals there was 2 and the rest of them are chickens ,yes they make some noise but are entertaining to watch as is the little lady who owns them .overall the plaza is clean, comfortable, friendly and just far enough away from the noise of kavos.

Dec 2007, Miss L Booth

I just wanted to add a review for the Kavos Plaza as the previous one doesn't really do it justice!
I went to Kavos and stayed at the Plaza in June 2005 for one week. My friend and I loved it that much we decided to fly back again 2 days later and stayed there for the whole season!
The rooms were clean and comfortable, enough so for a 12 week stay. The shower did flood on occasion, however you'll be hard pushed to find a Greek shower that won't after 2 girls using it for half an hour each!
I actually forgot about the roosters and reading the above review made me laugh out loud! Ah, it's all part of the fun!
I have such fond memories of this place, the food was good, the owner was lovely and we met some great people. It is for the young and lively but that's pretty obvious when you book, you're in Kavos! Great fun!

This apartment block is situated in...

Dec 2007, Miss N Chambers

This apartment block is situated in just the right place if you want to be near to the nightlife but far enough away to sleep if you want to. The rooms are small and basic but they're adequate. Didnt think much to the host, cant remember her name but she owns the building.
We arrived early in the morning and when shown to our room, we couldn't lock the door and because it was so early (and we were tired), we just shut it to and went to sleep. Having woken later we reported this to her and she said 'oh it be ok, nobody go in your room don't worry about it.' But we insisted something was done, which it was some time later that day. We found she was very ignorant with us after that and seemed she didn't like the fact we complained. We felt uncomfortable by the pool so we tended to go out and about on a moped which we hired for a week.
It is a nice apartment block and we would go again but she is very ignorant. Kavos is brill but don't go at the beginning of Sept because it all shuts down. Head for Atlantis its ace and it goes on till the early hours. Food is cheap you can have a 3 course meal for about £5-7 and there's a variety of restaurants to chose from.
I would recommend this holiday to anyone and I am in my thirtys. There are plenty of young people but we didn't feel at all out of place we partied hard with the best of them.

Where to begin!! - My fiancée and...

Nov 2007, Mr A J X

Where to begin!! - My fiancée and myself just wanted a cheap holiday before our main honeymoon next year and believe me - that’s EXACTLY what we got!!! We chose this venue due to the above good reviews but were bitterly disappointed.
Firstly before the moan, the staff were very friendly and pleasant - no qualms there at all.
1. The Room - EXTREMELY basic, floor was constantly dusty (doesn't help that my fiancée is asthmatic and would NOT stop coughing the whole holiday!), cigarette burns in the sheets, a kettle that didn't work, the ONLY cutlery was spoons! There were a few pans, however no plates/cups - how do we eat, with our hands!!.
CONSTANT noise as our room just so happened to be on the closest edge to the bar, we could virtually hear all conversations there until the very early hours.
*** Looking in other people's rooms it did seem like we were given the shortest straw. ***
2. The Bar - On arrival, as you could expect we were very hungry and ordered some food to which the owners lad cooked for us - didn't see him wash his hands and believe me, they were like he'd played in mud before and after serving us!
STAY AWAY FROM ICE - MY FIANCÉ HAD SOME - NOT SURE IF FROM HERE OR A MEAL OUT ON THE FIRST NIGHT BUT SHE THREW UP RATHER VIOLENTLY DURING THE NIGHT!
On a PLUS! Note - drinks were VERY cheap, two cocktails which were AMAZING! Were the equivalent of about 1.50p each! A BARGAIN!
3. Walk into Town - To get to the main strip which you could literally through a stone to - is not brilliantly lit for about 100 yards but after that it's cool - watch out for the traffic - they really don't care for pedestrians - not many paths available - not great for high heels! And that stray dog loved us most nights enough to follow us home (for those that are worried about dogs!).
3. The Strip! - Rather Awesome - Forum Bar 5**** Is karaoke, but a right laugh!! - The owner is great, really friendly and looked after us when we watched a movie and orders drinks. The DJ - He's a DJ, Singer, Comedian, and Braincase for Music trivia and all round QUALITY GUY!! - Big HELLLO to him!!
One person that deserves a MASSIVE hi too is Crystal - You know who you are, even if you don't use the net - say hi to her, she's awesome, very friendly and a laugh!
We STRONGLY! recommend breakfast in Sizzlers - we had breakfast there almost everyday (We didn’t once only cos we had an early excursion and they were not open!) and Face bar is wicked for entertainment – the Hypnotist Rob – he’s funny and a DEFINITE must see! VERY Rude but quality!
4. Beach! - CRAP! Sewage pipes sticking out everywhere, cigarette buts all over and the sea is NOT blue! – I thought it was Felixstowe beach for a second… not Greece.
5. Aqualand! - Phenomenal – Must go – the donuts are so lush!
6. Wouldn’t go again! Would prefer to spend an extra #50 each and get something which doesn’t almost put my fiancé in tears on arrival!

Well what can I say apart from this...

Oct 2007, Miss J Carson

Well what can I say apart from this place is a DUMP! I have just returned from the Kavos Plaza and it is the worst holiday I have been on. The hotel is very basic and doesn't merit the 3 stars that Thomsons have said it is, more like a 1 star.
On arrival at the hotel we were told that the room we would be staying in was a new room, let’s just say I would hate to see the old ones! Our shower did not work and when we got it fixed (after 3 attempts of asking) it flooded the bathroom area and did not have hot water. Bed sheets and towels were only changed once during our 7 night stay (this is the first 3 star apartment I have came across that they don't change the sheets more often) although we were self catering we ate out every morning and evening because the cutlery and cooking facilities were filthy.
The hotel is situated right beside 2 rooster farms with about 20 roosters in each, so needless to say we did not get a good night sleep, although the Thomson’s brochure states that the hotel is situated in a quiet location.
Lucky enough we went at the end of season so the hotel, which worked out good as the hotel is for young and lively travellers (also something that we weren’t told when booking).
If you are thinking about going to this hotel I would strongly recommend that you go somewhere else unless you want a holiday from hell!

When we arrived at the Kavos Beach...

Aug 2006, Miss S Paul

When we arrived at the Kavos Beach Club we thought it was fantastic! okay so the apartment was basic but anywhere is like that in Greece, but we had the most amazing view of the sea!
The brochure picture makes you think its one block in the middle of nowhere however the complex is 3 apartment blocks with a large swimming pool and 24 hour bar! Its about 5-10 minutes to the bars and restaurants which were all great! Stavros (Yannis!) and Maria made us feel very welcome, Stavros will get you to try his Firewater, its a nasty strong shot of alcohol, but it does the job!
Enjoyed many days sunbathing in the pool and drinking vodka slush puppies! The pizza's Maria cooks are very nice! Cleaner is good too, comes in every couple of days to clear up your room which you've left a mess of!
Everything’s cheap in Kavos, cocktails are around 2 for 5 euros and Head*****ers which I miss the most are around 5-6 euros for a cocktail full of 10 shots! Best bars and clubs would have to be Rockys, Rolling Stones, Limelight, Atlantis and Future. Will miss Kavos loads, hope to go back.
Love Shiv, Chris and Donna from Bristol! xXx

If you read this 'Stavos' and Maria...

Aug 2006, Mr A Cox

If you read this 'Stavos' and Maria our thoughts are still with you! We [Andy, Bobby, Paddy aka 'snowman', Marc, Liam and Martin aka 'Fat' and of course the 'Mancs' (Ash and John)] are still reminiscing about the amazing stay at Kavos Beach Club; would rather be there under your hospitality than being back to reality!
Our apartments were all you needed especially with the intention of enjoying what Kavos is all about - the partying- so all that was necessary was a kitchen a bed and a lavatory and it had all that! It overlooked the pool and 24 hr bar, and I’m sure for those that will be coming back early mornings from the night before see the beautiful sunset across the sea!
As for the bar, both 'Stavos' and Maria were the two best hosts on any holiday we have been on. They were extremely helpful through both day and night and even enjoyed and joined in the pre-session drinks with us before a night out. Also since the bar never shuts we would enjoy an awesome fry-up when we got back in early mornings or even a beer to knock us to sleep.
The apartment is in the perfect place, being 5-10minutes walk into the main strip where all the bars are situated (recommend Scorers, Rockys and Atlantis, and if you can bear the heat, Rolling Stones isn’t bad either). It’s good also because when you’re all wasted from the night out its away from the noise and you can chill out back at the poolside.
It’s definitely the best holiday we've all been on and it was, we can most definitely say, for the reason we had both Stavos and Maria as our resort hosts.
Maria makes the best Spaghetti you'll taste!
Thanks again for the memories - Kavos 2006

Jul 2006, Miss V Brown

A couple of weeks ago my boyfriend, myself and two of our friends stayed at this location. It was totally value for money! As we went on holiday quite early on in the season we had the pool to ourselves for the first part of our holiday, which was great! We drank cocktails around the pool (quite good value for money again 3 euros- and if your nice to Maria and her husband who run the bar- they sometimes give you free drinks!)
The accommodation its self is basic- but only paying about 250 pounds it was worth it we had a private balcony and a share one with our neighbours, to large size bedrooms, a kitchen- which we didn’t use that much (we were a bit disappoint initially as there was no real cooking appliances- but like I said we eat out most of the time and the bar has a great selection of cheap food).
The bathroom is small and gets flooded easily that’s because there is just a tray- it was okay for us because I got my boyfriend to shower me, in order not to drench the floor.
This accommodation is perfect you can sleep at night because it not noise like it would be until about 4 if you stayed right in Kavos! This is my second time to Corfu Kavos, I will be returning and it is highly likely that I will be return to the beach club!

What can I say I loved it the apartment was really nice and people that say there is a nasty smell well all I can say is what smell? The people that worked at beach club apartments were so nice we didn’t want to leave the made us feel so welcome Yanas and Maria you are stars.
My whole holiday was great there is plenty to do and the night life is great.
I recommend Kavos to every one and I recommend you all to stay at Kavos beach club apartments.
We will be back same time next year 2006.

Sep 2005, Miss R Jones

Me my 2 of my girlfriends have just returned from the Kavos Beach Club in Kavos and I have to say that this was the best holiday I have ever been on! (Don’t ask why it is spelt with a C instead of a K)
Our apartment had 2 bedrooms a kitchen and a bathroom, plus we had 2 balconies-one overlooking mainland Greece and the other overlooking the pool.
There is a 24hr snack bar serving hot food, cold food and of course alcohol! All the staff were extremely helpful and we even got a few free drinks out of one of them!
The pool area is great, free sunloungers which apparently isn’t normal for Greece. They also do a great full English breakfast.
The only downside to the apartment is the bathroom. The shower is literally a tray and the head is handheld but using a coat hanger and some selotape we managed to fix it to the wall. Yes the toilet roll does have to be put in a bin but coming to Greece you should be expecting that.
The nearest bar is opposite. George’s Garden Cocktail Bar. Its a great place to start off your evening before walking into the main strip in Kavos.
The apartment is in the perfect place, being 5-10minutes walk into the main strip is far enough away from all the noise if you feel the need for an early night.
A few bars I recommend are Rocky's, 42nd Street and London Bar. I would avoid Fire Bar as it looks rank, the toilets are rank and the drinks are rank. We got dragged in by the owner who gave us free drinks but they were so rank none of us could drink them and we never turn down free alcohol.
I went with Olympic Holidays and I highly recommend taking a shopping trip into Corfu Town. They also do some good trips like scuba diving, Greek night and of course a bar crawl for good prices.
We will be going back next year.

Hello All!!!! We have just returned...
9 / 10
Jun 2005, Mrs S Stevens

Hello All!!!!
We have just returned from sunny Kavos and had a fab time.....
We were very surprised when we arrived at our apartments as we had read some bad reviews on the Internet.... we had a lovely room and the cleaner was MAD!!!! Lovely pool area and the receptionist was very helpful and friendly... This is an 18-30 hotel so we did not like the reps as they constantly try to make money out of you... we did not take part as we did the same activities for 4 times cheaper ourselves..... if you want to go on a boat trip, booze cruise, shopping, aqualand etc. please do not sign up with 18-30....go down the centre and you can buy the same trips for 14euros each instead of 60euros as the 18-30 were charging......
The only thing that we didn’t like were the Greek toilets.....you have to put your toilet roll in a bin next to the pot and the shower is hand held with no curtain....
The area was lovely...lots to do during the day and lots of drinking to do on the night.....the drinks promotions were great and the food was mint!!
The apartment is attached to 'The Barn' complex, which is great..... offers food, drink, pool table, films all day, music, swimming pool, funny DJ at night.....lots of buy one get one free cocktails!!
Our favourite pubs were 'The fire bar' and 'Edelweis'....make sure you talk to the owners MAD!!!!!!
The only thing that let our holiday down was the 16 hour delay to our plane on the way home.....
Hope you have as much fun as we did.....We will definitely go back again and again...we love it!!!
Lots of love, Sarah n Azz xxxxxxx
