Just spent 4 days B & B at Quarteira Sol hotel. A really lovely modern clean hotel with the beach just behind it.Reception staff very helpful especially the guy who looks like Ross from friends, he even rang our tranfer company to see what time we were being collected.Really nice beach and promenade, beds & parasols €10 for 2 people. Breakfast was great, in a lovely comfortable bright dining room, the usual hot & cold stuff, something for everyone. Great pool area, plenty of sun loungers, nice & comfy not like some hard white plastic ones you get in other places. Bar was expensive but ok for one or two drinks. The hotel has been refurbished so our room was gorgeous with a big bathroom, safe and stocked mini bar but unfortunately no balcony. Even a tiny one would have been better than none at all. We chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the airport, only 20 minutes away when our trip was so short, but the area of Quarteira itself wasn't nice at all, there was so much grafitti, such a pity, it just ruined the place. Didn't find any nice bars or restaurants there either. Most of the ones along the front were cafe style. What saved us was that Vilamoura was only a half hour stroll away and this is where we went every evening and got a taxi back at only €4. A gorgeous spot, plenty places to eat and drink and just people watch over the marina. I couldn't fault the hotel one bit and would certainly use it again as a base to visit Vilamoura. Its a lovely hotel that should be in a lovely area.

Myself and my husband have just returned from a weeks holiday at this hotel, we have never been to portugal before. W arrived at 12 midnight and the night watchman showed us the way inside the hotel. what a pleasnt surprise!!! It had only reopened three days previous after under going renavation, Everything was brand new, still the seal on the toilet!! We had a twin room with bath, shower over, toilet, bidet. we also had ample wardrobe space, we did not get a sea view, but we did not mind. the staff were really friendly and helpfull, the towels were changed every day, and the room cleaned. the bus station was just accross the road, the beach was 2 minutes away, and there were quite a few bars and resturants on the prom. the beach was very clean. there is another block, belonging to this hotel next door, and i believe this is also going to be renovated, once they have the other up and running, there is also a pool with sunbeds and table and chairs, also a bar serving beer, soft drinks, and tea and coffee. they were still putting the finishing touches to the hotel when we left. By the way, we stayed bed and breakfast, and if i am honest, it was the same every morning, but we ate it. bacon, scrambled egg, fruit, cereal, and continental. i can not comment on the evening dinner, because we ate out. overall, it is a lovely hotel, and we would go back. lynn and dave from scarborough

don't believe the negative revues about this hotel, it was great,in a good position, only a 5 minute walk to a superb beach. The room was spacious, clean, okay we didn't have a balcony but that didn't matter as the windows were quite large.The staff were very accomodating and friendly. The breakfast was very good and as much as you wanted. If you wanted to visit other places there was a bus station accros the road. We would go back to this hotel definitely.
