Seher Sun Beach Hotel

We have just come back from this hotel last week and thank god we had only booked for one week!! If you are German or Russian then this hotel is just the one for you!! We had booked 2 family rooms as we have 3 children, 15, 11 and 9 years old. They orginally gave us one room on the ground floor and one room on the second floor at the back of the hotel. One of the family rooms consisted of a double bed and a bunk bed, the other orginally of twin beds and bunk bed. Please note these rooms are not what we expected and were more like a bedsit. We complained and eventually was given another room on the ground floor, along with the other room but were seperated by 6 other family rooms. Therefore, for us my husband and i slept in different rooms with our children split between us - so much for it being a family room !!! By the way being on the ground floor we also had loads of ants which climbed onto the beds and had to squash them before the children would get into the beds to go to sleep. The portable tv which we had and all 5 of us watched on a double bed consisted of german, turkish and russian channels. One english channel being the news. The food - all continental, no english breakfast or toast here!! Although i didnt mind the food so much some days where better than others and all labelled in german, so it became much of a taster session. The children wouldnt eat anything here apart from fruit and we therefore ended up eating out mostly. The beach bar food was better although the choice was somewhat limited. Drinks - there is only some much fizzy pop you can take!! The water in coolers wasnt very cold. Fruit juices must have been full of sugar and the only healthy drink - fresh orange juice - you had to pay for. So much for all inclusive!! Lager was Tuborg and more Tuborg - no others on offer and it was watered down. The childrens club organisers spoke very little english, as did most of the staff and the only children we saw were german or russian, as the language barrier was a problem. The pool was nice and you need to get up early to obtain a lounger and you can also use the slide pool at Sehers sister hotel just next door. Although we were told we could not use the main pool or obtain any drinks. We did eventually meet two english families - a rareity indeed!! and a rather nice german family. The hotel in our opinion is not a 4 star and we made the most of the situation by visiting other places of interest, markets nearby and the hotels beach. I can name however, a really great sports bar, The Red Lion nearby who offer a fantastic full english breakfast and the turkish owners speak very good english and are very friendly.
