Ambassador Playa Apartments
Consisting of two separate wings amongst one lively complex, the Ambassador Playa welcomes an all round variety of guests ranging from families to couples to young singles. The hotel’s central location is a great advantage, just 20 metres from music bars and restaurants, and only 250 metres from Levante beach where long sunny days and cocktail filled evenings can be relished. Popular with British guests, there is no shortage of on-site entertainment and activities to enjoy.

Hotel in convenient location - five mins from beach and 15 mins to Old Town on foot. VERY NOISY at night - live music until 1.00am from the Western Saloon bar kept us awake. My partner could hear the music even through ear plugs. No fun if you have to get up early for your flight home. Hotel very clean and the restaurant staff inn particular were very friendly - also very patient with the (mainly elderly at the time we visited) guests. Food ok but as a vegetarian it became very boring eating salad most days, even the pasta and rice salads had lumps of fish or meat in them so they were not an option either! Nice to see fresh vegetables being served sometimes too - unusual for Spain. No coffee/tea at lunch or dinner, glad we brought a travel kettle. We also took our own bottles of water to meals as it was much cheaper than buying it at the bar.
I enjoyed Benidorm and would definitely visit again - although i would not stay at this hotel again because of the noise. Benidorm is not all chavs and fun pubs (although it has quite enough of both!) The Old Town has some lovely tapas bars and is great for meeting the local people. La Cava Aragonesa was our favourite tapas bar. Rocas bar is a good tradtional Spanish bar as well.

This is an excellent hotel. The food was really good and the rooms were very clean.
The staff were very friendly - all except the Reception gentlemen who were very off-hand.
We would recommend using the Spa downstairs - Benecaldea - superb pool, steam room, Jacuzzi, sauna etc etc. I would return to this hotel just for that.
Unfortunately we chose to go during a Fiesta week - many drunken, rowdy Brits were there. Suggest you choose a time when it`s a little quieter.
Do go on one of the free Blanket trips - it`s worth sitting through the spiel just to see some of the scenery of the real Spain.
Altogether a very enjoyable holiday - thank you Sunshine.co.uk.

I stayed here with my family and we thought this hotel was in an excellent location.
Staff very friendly and hotel was nice and clean. We were 2 minutes walk from the centre and 10 minutes walk from the old town. The beach was no more than 5 minutes walk but we liked to stay around the pool with the kids, the staff were always on hand to help us.
We found the rooms to be a reasonable size and they were cleaned every day. We got a free child place with ulookubook, so over all great hotel/location and excellent price to go with it.

This was my 3rd year at the Ambassador always with a group of girls, this year there were 6 of us and must confess that this was my best holiday, ever!
The hotel is just fantastic for many age ranges of people, entertainment for the elder generation, kid’s pools for the younger and the pubs/clubs/entertainment in the England Square for those who want a really good night out.
The pub next door, Western Trader, fantastic entertainment. Jail House Rock a few crawls away, just superb.
For those of you that are brave enough, Cafe Benidorm is a must! Closes at 07.00am.
We are now currently looking at booking next year’s trip for end of Sept.
Oh and the weather was fantastic for those of you who like the sun.
Recommend the hotel to anyone.

First time full board in Benidorm. Weather was dreadful, hotter in England.
Our room was very nice a balcony and you could just about see the sea between two big hotels, we were surprised by how many hotels there are.
Ambassador Playa is in a good location; pubs, shops and entertainment everywhere usually comedians and singers and you can get a take away late in to the night.
The hotel was very clean, maid service excellent, food seemed to get better each day, probably won’t do full board again, half board would suit us, like the food.
The reception staff, when we arrived wasn’t very friendly, I would say a bit rude but seemed to get slightly better during our stay.
One thing we missed was a cup of tea, take a kettle, and tea bags, we had to buy one.
We were warned all the time about pick pockets, especially around the market, while on holiday we encountered a few victims, be careful.

Having never been to Benidorm before we were anxious as what to expect. Upon arrival at the hotel we realised we were the only guests under 65 and amazingly we were always 1st to bed!
Ambassador Playa has a good location; situated at one end of Benidorm - close enough to pubs and shops and the beach yet a lovely walk along the promenade to the centre.
The numerous pubs and restaurants all catered for the generation Benidorm attracts throughout the winter season 'young at heart's, although I am sure it will be a different kind of holiday destination in the summer season.
Our hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly.
The food was good, if a little repetitive...but aren't most hotels....The same salad every day, the same puddings every day (although lots of choice; fruit, cakes, ice cream, custard, jelly etc) and for the main course lots of meat and fish options. Little vegetarian choice (the salad will become boring).
Each evening hotel entertainment began with bingo followed by line dancing and ballroom dancing. If this isn't your cup of tea, don't worry the nearby pubs all have something to offer.
The covered pool was okay to swim in, a little chilly some days. A few days the daytime entertainment started with aquacise in the pool.
We had a family room - the family rooms don't have balconies. Instead just a window.
Overall we had a wonderful holiday. We enjoyed lots of walks on the promenade and have returned home with lots of good memories of Benidorm.

This was our first time to Benidorm with some misgivings I might add, we only went for 5 days as a try out and wished we had been there longer.
We rate the hotel much better than a three star, had a lovely room and the food was good, porridge rice pud good selection.
Everyone very friendly and maid service good.
The entertainment was to our taste being seniors i.e. dancing bingo etc and very good shows in other hotels as well.
We found an all night Spanish cafe with British food and went there regularly after midnight for a snack just up the road from the hotel about five minutes walk, good cup of tea and chips to die for just like mother used to make.
The only fault was the weather was a bit hit and miss and the indoor pool had lots of condensation - conservatory type outdoors - and the outdoor pool in summer I should think, was a little on the small side, the spa looked good but expensive.
All in all we enjoyed Benidorm is nothing like its reputation, well not in December anyway. Nice promenade and lots of reasonable transport if needed, will def be back and to this hotel.

The room I stayed in was booked by my friends the day before I arrived as they were staying a full week and me, a last minute thing for 5 nights!
Upon arrival, I was greeted like a regular and made to feel very welcome, all the staff were helpful and happy, especially Pepe the barman who is a great asset to a bar!
The room maid was there that often, I thought she was staying in the same room!
As for everything else........ Well a bit of a blur!
Seconds away from all the action but yet no noise or rowdies in the early hours?
Generally speaking, We all found this hotel somewhere near the top of the list when wanting the whole nine yards, even if you only use 3 or 4 yards yourself. Loads of facilities but not enough time to use or really appreciate them all.
This hotel is well worth a try.
P.S The hotel is spotless and ALL the lifts worked. Welcome to Benidorm.

Just got back from Benidorm with 8 friends this hotel we found was spotless.
The entertainment in hotel was mainly for the older generation but there was plenty on the door step. Fiesta week and it was fantastic the hotel food was definitely 5 star.
So much choice it was hard to decide what to eat staff were very nice helpful and pleasant nothing too much trouble.I was in the Hotel Orange in June but this hotel is far far better.
I am a travel agent and would recommend this hotel to all age groups. Please try this hotel highly recommended.

This was my 3rd time in Benidorm and I cannot fault it, this however was our first time in the Ambassador and I have to say it has been the best hotel I’ve stayed in there, the food was great couldn’t fault it, it was checked regularly by the chefs, maid service was out of this world, they were in everyday tidying up after us (thanks very much Mercedes).
We had a great time having a laugh with the waiters, who were fascinated with the Scottish accent, I did miss out however on the spa area I only had a quick glimpse in on my way to dinner.
We are already looking in to booking again for next year, for longer.

Was a beautiful hotel, cleaned daily and looked after.
Smashing staff very friendly! Waitors/barstaff never cease to have a joke and they are superb. Pools are ok in size and a nice place to relax around during the day.
As for entertainment the shows are excellent - Madonna never stopped singing to me!
It is ideally located and I would seriously make sure you visited this place!! Not to miss, I can’t go into detail as to how good it was.
Now for the down sides (but we didn’t let these ruin the holiday)
1. Soon as we got there we were put in a room, no balcony and we were told we had paid for one, we soon moved though.
2. Around 3rd day we were robbed of £800 from the safe itself which was locked! Hotel staff claimed they didn't understand, so it's a good idea not to use safes and to use suitcases with a lock instead.
3. FOOD... Disappointing. A small range, for 12 of 14 days PORK was on the menu as a main meat along with fish... Although you can't fault the quality or taste!
Overall despite having a few bumps it was fantastic, such a laugh! Please do go but watch where you store your money!

We had not been to Benidorm before. When my wife and I arrived at the Hotel Ambassador we were pleasantly suppressed. The hotel was very well maintained, the room was cleaned every day to a very good standard.
The restaurant was large enough to accommodate the guests, the food was good, I noticed that the food was regularly probed by a digital thermometer to check the holding temperature of the food, which is a good health and hygiene practice!
The evening entertainment was very good with professional acts each evening.
For 3t rating the Hotel is a good standard. We would certainly go back to this hotel.
The waitress in the entertainment bar gave excellent service and she is worth a mention!

The hotel is having structural changes made, but that does not hamper enjoyment, it has only deprived itself of another entertainment room and bar , which I presume is being replaced.
The food has improved over the years and has plenty of variety...but it would be nice to be able to have a cup of tea or coffee available after the evening meal. The facilities are good, with an indoor swimming pool and sauna etc. Entertainment is provided in the afternoons and evening in the form of "Line Dancing", Bingo and musical entertainment.
Benidorm itself was rather quiet and much colder than in previous years (2nd week in December), necessitating the wearing of coats even during the day which was otherwise sunny and dry. Most of the Entertainment bars were open but quite a few had closed for their holiday period. The sea-front is lovely and clean and provides a long leisurely walk from the New town area to the Old Town. There are no shortages as far as shops are concerned and there is a large market twice a week....on Sundays and Wednesdays. There are numerous cafes and restaurants for relaxation and socialising. There are of course a plethora of free "Blanket Trips" and visits to local Amusement Centres.
The Thomson Reps were pleasant and helpful, but because of cut-backs, are not as available as they used to be. This led to a lack of information to holiday makers when they found on arriving at the airport for the return flight that there was a 2.5 hour delay........this had been known the previous day, due to unavailability of flight crew. The time could have been spent in Benidorm and not the airport.
No apology, compensatory drinks or refreshments were offered by the Company as a good will gesture. (the flight crew expressed their own personal apologies).
A nice relaxing break before the onslaught of Christmas.

We went twice in March for 3days at a time :)
Never had time to eat in the place but never heard anything bad from the other guests !! We stayed there for the locality bang central in the middle of all the action john and Joes bar is right opposite the hotel and never shuts :):):) Very handy for late flights!
We booked our own flight from airscotland cost £23 each way you can get a bus from the airport for about 6 euros into Benidorm much cheapness!!
Hotel has a covered pool slightly heated very good for the heed 1st thing in the afternoon ;)
One down side is the zombie (line) dancing for the coffin dodgers all the men look like they want to be somewhere else
And are in their own mind .......funny to watch though!!!

The Ambassador Playa was a great hotel with plenty of entertainment. The rooms are clean & the maid was round every day. The food was good, buffet style, so there was always something I liked. The staff were very polite & helpful, especially the bar staff who were very friendly. All in all it was a great holiday & I would definitely go back to the Ambassador.
