Brilliant Hotel and location. Rooms were great. Balcony incl. Food was good. Bar was great fun. Cant complain about anything. We had young enough kids with us and they were treated very well, same as the adults

The hotel was absolutely brilliant, all woodwork and slate. The room was nice and clean with plenty of space, a nice welcome pack of freebie lotions. The hotel staff were courteous and welcoming nothing was too much trouble. The only downfall was the food at dinner and not... more

Not bad if you don't mind lots of noisy children
I have read the reviews posted previously and I agree that the hotel is comfortable and it also has adequate food. The puclic areas are nice and it it a well decotated hotel but obviously the majority of people who have posted reviews were not placed in a room next to the lift and slamming door to the stairs, where families said there goodbyes before going to their rooms solidly from 10pm through to 1 am every night keeping us awake. There were lots of families at the hotel and whilst many parents were drinking in the bar their children were loose running round the hotel screaming at the top of their little lungs. I note that one reviewer has said it is the responsibility of the paying custopmer to research the hotel but personally I believe that the hotel is responsible for the enjoyment of your stay and if other people's children are running wild they should be asked to control them. This was not the case and the hotel was not interested. Anyway, Andorra is a great place to learn to ski but I agree that once you get to a certain level there will not be much you will find challenging. The instructors are friendly and do a fantastic job. The ski lessons are very good value and the least it is a good way to get to know the mountains before you go out on your own. I went back to Andorra a year later and stayed in the Sport Hotel Village accross the road from this one. I got a suite and found this to be much better as there is an extra door between you and the corridor which cuts out any noise. This felt to be more of an adult hotel with couples and adult groups rather than families. It was more expensive but I was happy to pay only a small amount more to ensure that I got some sleep. What I have foud is that if you have children you would probably be better off at the Sport Hotel as there will be lots of other children for them to play with giving you some space in the evening but if you don't have children and want a more peaceful adult environment then go the the Sport Hotel Village. They are both good quality hotels that are very well situated for the gondola with good facitlities and similar standards. Neither are bad hotels, they are simply suited to different types of customer.
Good Choice
Great hotel choice, first time skier, nice warm comfortable room, shower was a bit tired, facilities adequate, good selection of food (and I am v.fussy) all in all, you can’t go wrong, the sister hotel opposite Sport Village, looks even nicer! So if you have the budget splash out!! (I believe they have a beauty spa, so go on your worth it!)
fantastic!
We went on 26 feb 05 for a week. We arrived at the gorgeous sport hotel 5 hours late at 0100h, exhausted to find a packed lunch waiting for us! We were very pleased! Our rooms were large, more than comfortable , very clean with a great bright bathroom. We had a large balcony with great views of the gondola and runs. Meals were lovely , a fantastic hot an cold buffet with enough choice to pls everyone inc. the veggies. The hotel has its own locker room which is just next to the gondola and across the road from the hotel so it was great not to lug the gear around. The gondola is literally just across the road, as are all the bars and clubs. The hotel has its own bar which we didnt really use as it seemed quiet but we were told that it was a good bar to go 2 by friends that had been there b4. All in all, we will definately go back to the same hotel next year, it was luxurious and close to the slopes ( even the 5 hr transfer from tls wont put us off!). K Hughes 28/3/05
Brilliant Hotel/Beginner/intemeidiate Skiing
My wife and I have been here for three years running, learned to Ski here. The school is superb, Hotel outstanding. Food, rooms, staff, can't fault them. We are have booked to go back twice in 2005. Can't recommend it highly enough!
i'm very fussy, but couldn't fault it...............
If you want peace and quiet, don't go when any European country is on school half-term! You can't blame the hotel for noisy children - it's up to you to do proper research! It is also much cheaper to go in term time - the holiday prices indicate that - the cheaper it is, the quieter it will be........... Sport Hotel was excellent value all round....really couldn't fault it! food superb; rooms huge; bed comfortable; staff friendly and helpful; we were even provided with a ski locker by the gondola, so we didn't even have to carry our kit about with us. Skiing not too challenging, but very enjoyable - good for mixed ability groups. Have already booked to go back next year - first time we have ever been to the same place twice!
Perfect
Stayed at the Sport Hotel during the 2nd week of March. As a first time skiier it was everything and more what i had expected. The cleanliness, ambience, the food and even the staff at the hotel were all first class. The location (opposite the Gondola) was perfect especially after a hard days skiing - it was a case of, come off the gondola straight into the hotel bar!!!!What more can anyone ask for???????
Superb Accom
I've just come back from a great weeks skiing in Andorra, staying at the Sport Hotel, in Soldeu. The accommodation was fab, & the food varied & pleantiful. The location was ideal, only a few metres from the 8-man gondola...an ideal bade for a great weeks skiing. This is the 2nd time I've stayed here & will definitely come again.
Location good and shame about the rest
The hotel location, greatThe hotel food greatThe noise in the hotel awful, we had to take sleeping pills as it was worse than sleeping in a dormitory people would come to be and you could hear them all the way up the corridor. Kids running about till past midnight, we asked both our rep and the hotel staff to do something and we had a very muted response. Would not go back!!!!
great hotel
great hotel been here now for 4 yrs running and always found it welcoming and the food 2nd to none,i will be back for the 5th time in feb 2004 for more cool boarding.
Loved the Sport Hotel

Spanish and French visitors arrive for weekend breaks.
