Soldeu Maestre Hotel

Initial thoughts of the hotel was it looked clean and well kept (after all it is only a few years old!).
The location of the hotel just off the main street and up a very steep incline meant that it was often very difficult to walk up and down the street due to the snow/ice.
We had a VERY small room on the top floor overlooking the back of the hotel (not that we could see out - we were blessed with a Velux window that was continually covered in snow and couldn't get any light into the room. Because of this our room was always stuffy. Our room way also quite noisy at night as it was close to the resort nightclub.
The double bed was against the wall - not very convenient!
There was hardly any space for luggage or clothes and no hooks to hang up damp skiing gear. The hotel did supply at a small cost, lockers for boots and skis/boards, this room wasn't always heated so some mornings boots were still damp.
I think we had a bad room compared to others on the same floor, across the corridor the rooms had separate seating areas from the beds and some and balconies.
The food in the hotel was good with plenty of hot/cold choices at breakfast and good choices in salads/buffets in the evening. Although it did get a bit repetitive towards the end of the week. But eating out in Soldeu is cheap if boredom does set in.
Bad room aside, the hotel is perfectly adequate and well situated for the après-ski.
I'd go back to Soldeu again!
