Returned yesterday from this resort good location as not to far from clubs and the beach. Had a good stay and nothing to complain about up until the last day when checking out we was charged 32 levs for 2 small hand towels. on investigation the chamber maids had evidently edited the list which they complete daily inorder to show this. Our rep saw this and backed us up the hole way due to the blatent tampering. When questioned on this the maids acted ignorant and acted as though they barely understood. Although our rep apologised several times and was extremly angry with the situation due to the fact this kind of behaviour is apparently a regular occurence it was still disappointing to end the holiday on this note. Quite a few parties was scammed with this so unless you dont want to be stung for extra charges i wouldn't advise staying here! I would recommend first Choice as the Rep Rachel was really good however would NEVER go back to this resort!

Returned last night from 14 nights at Sun Village. Apartments are massive and very clean. Cleaners came everyday & changed the towels and swept the floors etc. The bedding was changed 3 times during the 2 weeks we were there. Good location just right not in the centre but near enough to walk. about 5 mins. Pool was cleaned thorougley every night and was spotless. Did get alot of young groups of teenagers and there were a few noisy nights but not enough to spoil the holiday. No entertainment but that didn,t bother our party. Restaurant was cheap and food OK. Bulgaria is a really cheap resort we paid 2.50 leva for 2 pints of beer during happy hour ( Just over £1)at Sun Village and happy hour was from 9-11pm everynight. Fantastic place for a cheap holiday. Only down side is watch out for the charges at the end of your stay. Our friends returned a faulty iron to reception that they had not used and at the end of the holiday they were told they had to pay for the replacement iron. Luckly we stuck to our guns and refused to pay but quite alot of the younger parties seemed to be being stung by this scam and 3 young girls were charged 30 lev for 2 small hand towels.

resort not to bad, pool clean entertainment rubbish. My kids are 11 and 6 and couldnt wait to get home which i found sad as they should have been enjoying themselves.Only so much swimming they can do.If you want to watch the teens and older ones throwing up getting thrown out of taxis and getting carried in drunk by their friends then sun villiage is the place to be .Would not recomend this resort wished i paid more attention to the reviews last year when i booked would have saved outselves alot of dissapointment.Apartments close to aqua park which is the only plus side of it.If you have already booked would really try and get money back, dont listen to travel agent about not reading reviews, that was the mistake i made last year ,was told to ignore them wish i followed own instinct.

rooms are large and clean but thats the only good thing about this place. the staff are miserable and the food in the bar is disgusting. advertised as a family complex but they don't have any highchairs???? they demand 100lev from you when you check in as a security deposit which is the last thing you need after a night flight but it has to be paid. they will charge you for the smallest of things (tried charging another guest 20lev for a broken glass!!!) you get fined 400lev if you make noise between midnight and 8am!! all they want to do is make money out of you and rip you off!!!! the resort of sunny beach is good and i would visit Bulgaria again but would NEVER stay at the sun village!!!

We stayed at Sun Village for two weeks on a family holiday and can't complain really. Spacious apartment, comfy beds, excellent air conditioning, maid service every day (they even did our dishes!), beds changed every 4 days, well equipped kitchen. The pool was cleaned every night, usually enough sunbeds although a bit uncomfortable as there are no matresses for them. The food is ok for snacks but nothing special. The entertainment was really poor but on our last day an entertainer started working there organising pool games through the day and competitions and stuff at night. Before that it was karaoke, karaoke and more karaoke! The staff are all friendly, and Cloe the rep was fab. One thing to point out if you're going on a family holiday is it's a very mixed crowd. The British guests were mainly families with a couple of young groups, however there were quite a lot of groups of German lads - some of them very boisterous! In Germany it is advertised as an 18-30 type of place. Saying that though it wasn't a problem. The location is good, in a quiet area just 10 minutes walk from the beachfront and 5 minutes to a great waterpark.

There was 7 of us, all 17 and on first impressions all seemed good.
Resonable sized rooms, but my bed was broken, it was the sofa bed.
The cleaners did come every day and left clean towels but the bed sheets were never changed the whole week we were there.
We had no hot water all week and had to get the maintenance man out nearly every day although it made no difference at all.
There was allowed no noise after a certain time and we got complained at nearly every night, some nights when we were just sleeping. We think it was because we were all girls and young and the security guard was just bored.
The main problem for us at this place was the hot water.
We didnt have to pay for any breakages or anything although we was threatened with fines if we didnt shut up (even though we werent making any noise!)
The nightlife at sunny beach however is amazing!
Especially enjoyed Jacks Bar, Revolution and Disco Orange =]

Me and a group of 10 other teenage boys went to stay at sun village apartments, one of our friends had to sleep on a broken sofa bed and one had to sleep on the floor, we had fresh towels brought every day but our apartment only got cleaned twice in a week and they were supposed to clean daily, the resort of sunny beach is brilliant however the way we were treated by the hotel staff put a dampner on what would have otherwise been a brilliant holiday. the staff tried to fine us 2000 levve stating that we threw glass bottles at the security guards and jumping in the pool, when we hadnt. I spoke to a women there who recieved a 400 levve fine for noise because her baby wouldnt stop crying at 3 in the morning!
Good things about sunny beach are the nightlife and the cost of everything, i would truely reccomend suinny beach to anyone who is going on a clubbing holiday however not so great for families and older couples. the reps chloe and rachel were extrremely helpful and great fun on nights out!

just bk from sun village. got delayed 6 hours from glasgow on way there. appartments were ok. got clean towels dailly but bed sheets never got changed. only in pool twice cause weather was rubbish. emma the rep, group of 5 gave her 175levs each was told we would do sumthing different evey night. on first night we went out got a couple of free shots that was it, rest of week beach party and boat trip got cancelled because of weather was promised a refund. kept asking her an got nothing bak so 175 lev each for a couple of shots on first night. would not reccomend emma to anyone. on way home thomson bus picked us up at airport at half 8 for 12.55. flight got to bourgas airport in checkout flight had not left glasgow 14 hour delay. reported emma the rep she told us we should not have reported her if we new there was a delay. trying to threat us into a rubbish hotel for night. lots of witnesses. ps for breakeges at appartments . tried to charge us 60 lev on first day there for a broken chair on balcony that was already broken.

just back from sun village , great first impression on arrival but the cracks start to appear the longer you stay, pool was never cleaned unless someone mentioned it ,karokee was far to loud for the youger kids to sleep as the apt block is not that far from the bar,as my kids are older it wasn't a problem. maid was lovely but its just a surface tidy nothing special ,we had an accident with a pen it leaked on a single duvet cover and we asked how much we would have to pay and was told 60 lav (£30) there charges for breakages or accidents are excessive, another was charged 40 lev to paint the wall as they had scratched the wall with there case, so if your accident prone this is an expensive hoilday ,we enjoyed the resort of sunny beach ,and liked the apartments but the general management of the complex does not have avery good manner . we reported the ring for the shower curtian was falling off had to go back twice before they came it still wasnt fixed when we left , it also advertises sun village is exclusive to thomson so there shouldn't be any german, polish etc and it was full of them , we enjoyed the holiday but only because my kids are older and didnt have any resrictions on going out at night , by the time we were ready to come home the last few days was like an 18 30 holiday as every second room was full of teenagers on a riot for a week it got really noisey where our apt was we didnt hear it so it didnt bother us ,but for anyone with kids its not all the brochure says it is , and the waste land that another review mentioned is now under development we were facing the building work but we were glad to have been at that side of the block as the building work was less noisey than facing the pool we never heard a thing maybe wasn't the most lovely outlooks but it was quiet

Just got back from the Sun village aparts, we were a party of 9 aged 16-54. My daughter had her case tampered with at bourgas airport by the luggage handlers. They cut the lock off and went through the contents, some items were missing like T/shirts, nickers, bra's and her hairdrier. Three more of the party also had their locks cut off their cases, luckely they had nothing missing, we think they must have been looking for jewellery or expensive items. So be warned! The aparts are very spacious and clean, maids daily but don't always remember to leave tiolet roll for what its worth as it is grey in colour. Be warned if you break anything you will be charged, i.e 4 levs per glass, cup, 15 levs for dirty sheets. The entertainment is absolute rubbish, karioaki every night except a Wednesday when its quiz night. The pool is lovely and cleaned daily. The Rep Emma is great, she will come round every day and take the towels off the sun beds that are not in use, people then get chaged 1 Lev to get their towels back. Serves them right! Sunny beach itself is very commercialised lots of bars, resaurants, shops all selling the same things and night clubs. Watch out for the beggers and hold on to your money because of the thieves. The water park is great 30 Lev entrance, also the jeep safari and the VIP criuse are well worth the money. Beer is only 1 Lev and local spirits 2.50 Lev in the town. Cocktails are good value at happy hour ( buy 1 get 1 free). The best cocktail is at vikings bar on the left at the beach entrance. Tobacco is 8 levs for 50 grams, and cigarettes are 2.50 Levs in any of the supermarkets. Bulgaria is not for me but I can understand that the younger generation like it for the night life.

We had a good time at sun village, we thought that the apartment was kept clean, the beds were changed twice a week, the pool was ideal and clean for everyone. There were young teenagers playing loud music nearby the pool but they caused no harm. Funnily enough we were a towel short on the last day aswell just like other reviewers but we managed to aquire 1 from the maids linin basket when they were not looking. also if you have a late flight home they shut the bar area at 12pm so you get kicked out in to the seating outside and they switch all the lights off,so you have to fend for yourself till the bus comes which in our case was 2.30am which i think is out of order especially if you have a young family, we also had broken and cracked glasses that appeared suddenly, we hid them in the back of the cuboard and didnt get charged for them .SO JUST BEWARE OF THE POTENTIAL CHARGES.
