Just came back from a week at the Palazzo. I was dubious about going at first because of some of the reviews I had read but it was AMAZING!
The hotel was fantastic for the price we paid (4 girls stayed in one room)...the only downside of the hotel was that the sofa bed wasn't very comfortable. But the other beds were fine...we just alternated.
If I returned to Bulgaria I would definitely stay here. The hotel was divided into Palazzo I (quieter, for families) and Palazzo II (for young people booked on 2wentys holidays...like us!) It was great being in Palazzo II because everyone around you is your age and there for a laugh; music played all day whilst you laid by the pool and the bar had a great, friendly atmosphere. Staff were great. A different cocktail was on 2 for 1 each day which was fab:) Being able to sit out and eat on the balcony was great. There was a small supermarket in the hotel which was open to some ridiculous hour so great for picking up bread and other essentials for breakfast/ late at night (and many bigger supermarkets were very close by).
Only 5 minutes from the beach, but about a 40 minute walk from the main resort. But bus stops were close and buses were only 1 lev each. I would recommend getting a taxi at night, as you feel safer and they are 15 levs each way, which is fine when sharing between 4 of you. As 4 girls we were also really glad that the hotel had 3 taxis on site all the time, so you just get the phone number of one of those taxi drivers and call them to pick you up from town in the middle of the night. Then you don't get ripped off and there's no fear of getting into a dodgy cab.
Being with 2wentys was great- the reps were really helpful. There were some really cheap deals for nights out (many of which with an open bar) for those who wanted to party every night. But if you don't want to be hungover every day don't let that put you off! The girls and I went on 2 mega nights out which were so much fun, but the rest of the time we did our own thing, mainly hanging out at the hotel bar or going to just a couple of bars in town...I think once we had a night in :)
Overall the holiday was the perfect mix of relaxation and fun. I was slightly afraid of going at first (first girly holiday away) but as long as you're sensible (don't get so drunk that you go to hospital...as you will have to pay, pay to use the safe in your room, keep a tight hold of your purse, don't buy food from anywhere that looks dodgy, use the hotel taxis...) it will be a totally fun, stress-free holiday!
Also as Bulgaria is not on the Euro it is ridiculously cheap. I took £350 with me for a week and spent about half of it, and I did splash out big time on meals out, many many cocktails etc...
So, although I wouldn't recommend it for a family holiday,or for culture (EVERYONE is/speaks English and everything is geared towards English people!) for fun/ relaxing times with friends, it's perfect to make it whatever you want it to be! Wish I could've stayed a few more days (although a few people we spoke to who went for 2 weeks said it was that bit too long...maybe it is better for some to keep it one amazing week, but I know I'd rather be in Sunny Beach right now than England!).
Have a great holiday!

21 of us went and found the apartments spacious and well equipped however found the staff rude and uphelpful. A mirror was cracked in the bedroom on our arrival and they tried to charge us £50.00. That was just the start of what turned out to be an expensive holiday nightmare. Hotel ripped us off whether we were buying something ar trying to change money. The best bit (not) was when we were sitting in MacDonalds at 6am having breakfast and I got my chain rippped from my neck by a young Bulgarian. Another in the group got in a Taxi on his own and was driven down a back alley and told to pay £100.00 othewise would get hurt. Drinks in the clubs and bars were mixed with water. This is only a few of incidents that took place. Needless to say none of us would ever return to Bulgaria.

I stayed towards the end of the 2008 season. The hotel was very well presented even after a full season and the staff were all extremely friendly and always ready to help. It is located only a short walk from the beach and I found lots of great places to eat within a short walk of the development as well as in the restaurants within the hotel complex. If you are going further afield, there are frequent bus routes at the end of the street.

The hotel Palazzo is a great hotel. It has two great swimming pools with a smaller childs pool as well. It has great sized bedrooms with a number of facilities on site. The hotel is kept in immaculate condition with the maids working really hard to keep it spotless.
The security staff are also really really nice and do security checks throughout the night to ensure that there are no shady people hanging around the hotel. They also help to keep the hotel grounds quiet so that you can get a fantastic sleep.
Only complaint I have is about the waitresses and the barmen, Who clearly had an attitude problem with many people especially when the bar is advertised to be 24 hours and it was shutting at 2 am when people were still wanting to be served.

Got back this morning from the Palazzo Hotel in Sunny Beach. I found the location of this hotel perfect far enough away from the very crowded and loud Sunny Beach. Gave the gangs of lads and lasses time to sober up before getting back to the hotel, but near enough to both Sunny Beach and the very nice Nessabar. The trains cost 3 levs but be careful which one you get coming back as you could get dropped off further away from the hotel than you wanted. The hotel and the staff, especially the waiting staff, I found all to be lovely, smiley and helpful. Would go back to the hotel especially as the army of cleaners kept the place spotless. The pools were perfect only problem was with the other clientel getting up at 7 am to put their towels on the sunbeds then not using them until 1pm!!!

Had a week here with my wife and daughter (16) the apartment was great air conditioning was a great relief 33 degrees very hot. It is a bit off the beaten track but local bus only 1 lev to either Sunny Beach or opposite direction Nessebar buses run until midnight so no problem getting back.Good value for money would go back sooner rather than later before prices start going up . All in all excellent holiday.

just got back from the palazoo sunny beach the hotel is of high standard its the 3rd hotel in bulg weve been to all have been excelent standard very clean. the kids pool is like a hot bath which was lovley ,clean rooms lovely veiw of sister hotel we had my 2 year old, with us. staff freindly, the bad points are were it is realy, if your a couple its easier its a good twenty min walk to the centre of sunny beach, so need your walking shoes major road you have to cross with no crossing every time you get the little train to centre which we reccomend now 3 levs (every thing has gone up)the curbs are a foot high had probs with the buggy lots of building work around the hotel, so hope your balcony isnt facing that. theres a gorgous beach just over the main road all new bars beatifull caico beach go there, in a couple more years that end of town would be perfect still lots being built, if you want a good cheap meal we reccomend djannys and condor the locals go there the price different is big the food is great, its over the main road in the centre and past the market the condor is on the main road up from the gogo girls club. we love sunny beach its a shame its got expensive. we spent loads the beaches have won awards and the beer still 50p a pint if you shop around have a happy holiday.

Staff were nice but it is a little off the beaten track. Apartments were spacious and we had a great balcony. The only downside were the shower facilities which were very clean but the floor always got wet no matter how careful you were which made it dangerous to get to toilet and sink for other occupants afterwards. The bus into SunnyBeach and Nessebar was excellent value at 1 lev each way to either place but finishes at midnight. The good points were apartments were very clean, it was quiet, and there were plenty seats at pool. Bad points were there was nothing at all for children to do other than the swimming pool, no guests in bar at night and you could not even play pool with children after 10.30. The food was not greatin hotel but we found the Condor Bistro in Sunny Beach extremely cheap and good, it had an extensive menu and had good choices for children. Local beer was also only 1.40 lev there in comparison to over 3 lev in most places. Coke for kids was only 1 lev which was very cheap for a resturant. The other good thing about it was they were always busy which meant food should not be hanging around too long.

had a great time in Bulgaria, totally not what i expected. The hotel was very quiet as it was nearing end of season ther was only about another 5 couples in it! There was no food served and the bar was shut at about 7pm at night, i did find the staff un helpful, whether this was down to them not speaking English too well i dont know! The other part of the hotel across the road was totally shut up but from what i could see it had an internet room and bandit games.
The room we had impressive, it was a generous size with a super bathroom and was very clean, could not fault it! would definatly go back to this hotel but in peak season. the finishing touches of the whole hotel were top class.
As for the hotel not being on the main path we didnt find this a problem, infact it was very nice to walk along the path into the town or to get the train ride which was only 2 lev. we didnt bother getting a taxi cause the train ran until bout 10.30pm-11pm at night so it was no bother getting back. deffinatly reccommend visiting Nessebar, train is only 2 lev to get there too but can get a boat for 15 lev which goes to hotel bourgas in the middle of resort. Shop keekers are a bit pushy but by the end of the week you get used to it! oh and your to pay for the toliet where ever you go in the town so carry small change!
overall would definatly go back, had a great time and i wouldnt let the location of the hotel be off putting, the 15 minute walk means you can have an ice cream with out feeling bad!!!!

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Palazzo Apartments in Bulgaria and were very pleased.
The apartments are fantastic for the price. It was the most spacious and best equipped self catering apartment we have had and even included air conditioning in the price (usually extra!).
There are two Palazzo complexes 1 and 2. We stayed at number 1. Both have the same facilities although our restaurant was a Chinese one, which we didn’t really want to eat every day, although across the road in Palazzo 2 they do pizzas etc in theirs.
They cleaned the rooms every day providing clean towels and sheets and even provided extras such as soaps, cotton buds, shoe shiners, and sewing kits!
Our only reason for not giving the 10 is we didn’t have a great view as we were at the back of the hotel and the balcony had the air con unit on it which pumped out hot air which made it very warm to sit out on.
One word of warning is watch out for taxi drivers!! We didn’t know about the train (small road like train like you get in theme parks) until the end of our hol and were constantly ripped off. The Palazzo apartments are not located within walking distance of Sunny Beach or Nessebar and so we had to get taxis.
The train costs just 2lv per person an average taxi was charging us 15lv (10lv before 10pm). Agree a price before you get in and despite what the travel books told us we would never get one on a meter again.
We had to ask one of the taxis to stop the car before we even got back to our hotel (from Nessebar) as the meter was racing quicker than seconds and when he did stop it he charged us 52lv for a journey which should have been no more than 8lv. When we questioned him he just laughed and left us on the main road.
All in all if you want two weeks hol in a great value hotel then we would recommend the apartments of Palazzo especially if your happy to laze around the pool all day and get the train at night.
