We managed to get a private booking to this quaint little hotel that was recommended to us from some friends. Marmari is a quiet, secluded resort on the island of Kos. When we wanted a little more action we took the local bus to the main city and enjoyed the nightlife there. The hotel was less than 50 m away from the beach. The staff was great. Some of them studied in North America and their english was impeccable. The restaurant had a great selection of home cooked meals. The rooms were clean but a bit small. Our room had a fantastic view. Actually any room on the second floor had a great view from the balcony. The mix of guests were mixed from Germany, USA, Netherlands, Slovenia and Italy.
Thanks again Martha and John for recommending this hotel to us and we will go back again.

I have just spent 10 days with my husband in this hotel. The major problem was that when we booked the accommodation at the travel agency we told them that we would like a second floor room with sea view if it could be possible. They were sure that we either would get a first floor or a second floor room because the hotel consisted of two levels.
At our big surprise we had to spend the first half of our holiday in a subterranean room which was horrible. The balcony was built one meter under ground level so when we were sitting there we could only see the other guests legs and bottoms. There was a terrible odor all over in the room coming from the sewing system.
There was no mosquito net on the balcony door so we spent almost every night killing mosquitos and we couldn't sleep too much. To tell the truth in the next room lived one of the receptionists and he had mosquito nets on every window!!!
In the end we could get a second floor room which was a real room with sea view, too.
Kos island is very nice and the scenery is wonderful. I can recommend to you all but please be careful with the Blue Jay Beach Hotel because there are about 12-13 basement rooms there!!!
The waiters were very friendly and they could speak English and the dinners were delicious but the breakfasts were always the same and we were fed up with the same cheese and ham by the end of the holiday.
If you want to spend some time in this hotel please take something with you against the mosquitos so that you could sleep at night. To my mind it's just a two-star hotel!!!
