I visit this wonderful country every year. I must say that on this occasion staying at the Morris hotel was the worse experience I have ever had in Egypt. I had a room on the third floor. All rooms and floors above were not finished except for the roof pool. No problem.... more

To give this hotel 1 out of 10 is being generous You have been warned ! If you dont mind staying in a hotel that can only best be described as an unfinished building site with unfinished floors, frequent power cuts which meant you had to navigate down an unlit staircase... more

The Morris Hotel is like a ghost hotel, and no wonder, it was horrible. While we were there there were hardly any other guests and we breakfasted and dined on our own, and saw almost no other guests except for local people who I think must have been the family or relatives... more

The hotel is situated away from the main roads in some back roads; do not let this put you off though as this means less traffic noise. We were picked up by Customer relations manager from the airport. The staff are very friendly and helpful even though some do not... more

I stayed here in March 2007 and would like to also voice the good and the bad points - from my experience Bad points. This is NOT a 10/10 hotel, not yet anyway, and I am surprised that any reviewer can be so generous. The reasons I give are as follows: The hotel has 3... more

My son and myself went to the Morris Hotel in Luxor in Aug this year 2007. Upon arrival to the hotel we were shocked to see where the hotel was situated in a very poorly lit up slummy area. If it wasn't for the fact that we could get McDonalds we would have been hungry... more

Seems like most people want to disagree on the hotel. The Good: The staff were great and the location was handy for the bank, Nile, and booking tours. The pool terrace was excellent and the food around the pool pretty good. Views from your lounger of the valley of the... more

Just got back from staying in Luxor and can only speak highly of this hotel. We got a half-board deal on teletext for a good price so our expectations weren't overly high. The hotel may not be totally finished but the rooms are still very comfortable and well decorated.... more

I stayed at the Morris Hotel for 3 nights, what a breath of fresh air the hotel was, although set back from the main road a little, the hotel I found was stunning in character and the abundance of smiles that greeted me was excellent. For some-one who has never visited... more

You're foolish to stay anywhere else in Luxor; the Morris is the best!
My husband and I recently returned from a trip to Egypt. We have so many wonderful things to say about the Morris Hotel that we don't know where to begin! After spending four days in Luxor, we can honestly say this is our Egyptian home away from home, and if ever in Luxor again, we will go back without a doubt. To give you a couple of examples... 1. Our train was meant to arrive at Luxor train station at 5am but was delayed. Ehab (the hotel owner) and Sammy (in charge of housekeeping) were waiting there when we arrived at 7am to escort... more
Wonderful Holiday Experience
My partner Julie and I have just got back after a week at the Morris Hotel - I have two main comments: 1 week was not enough & Can't wait to go back! I read the reviews prior to booking and these were partly why we booked the Morris, also because we liked the look of the rooftop terrace / swimming pool and the central location. To quote 'you can never keep all of the people happy all of the time' is a fact, but I think that the glass will always be half empty for some people. If, like us you have the 'half full' philosophy I guarantee... more
hospitality egypt
From day one we found that the staff could not do enough for us they treated us like royalty (and as a group two senior ,one adult and one child) they catered for all ages, the rooms were cleaned exceptionally well every day. also because each of us had different taste in foods (we are not alike when it came eating) they asked us what each would like and and they did their best to satisfy all of us,wonderful , we can find no fault with the hotel morris neither with its staff. Highly recommended. ... more
excellent and friendly hotel
Just returned from a week stay at the morris with my mother and father. we had a excellent week Ehab (owner) and Sammy( house keeping manager) are excellent and really friendly will do anything for you and I will miss them both greatly. Yes there are some floors that are not finished but you don't really notice that and the other restaurants and disco is closed but this didn't affect our stay in anyway. The rooftop pool is always really clean and the views of the nile are excellent also mohamed the rooftop waiter is excellent... more
Dont believe all the good you read about the morris!!!
I read the reviews on here of the morris before i booked my holiday and it definately didnt live up to them. I would not fault the rooms they were nice and very clean, the animal shapes made from the towels were very good and the pool was too. However our room did not have a hair dryer which all rooms were listed to have and with my friend and i both not having bought one with us as we thought there would be one asked at reception for one. It took 4 days of our 7 day stay of asking up to three or four times a day at reception to finally get... more
We loved the Morris Hotel
We have just arrived back from a weeks holiday in Luxor were we stayed at the Morris Hotel. Nothing we wanted was too much trouble for the staff and management of the hotel. We were thrilled with the towel displays left on our bed by the housekeeping staff every day, however the towel crocodile was a bit of a suprise. The rooms were beautifully clean and the hotel laundry service was brilliant. All my white linen came back white. The food was okay although not to the standard I would have expected. They will get there though,... more
morris in luxor
we stayed at the morris hotel from june 18th till 25th. when we first arrived at the hotel we were very taken back by the culture shock and HEAT . like the reports before the hotel at first seemed completely different than we thought! and the surrounding area is alot to be desired . in the hotel the air conditioning wasnt like what we have in the uk , more like cool air and not enough for us brits , the bath was chipped , no hair drier no balcony just a balcony door !! after a good nights sleep we started to see things alot differently. you... more
The best hospitatilty in the world
We (2 couples) stayed at the Morris hotel for 2 weeks half board in June 07. My partner is blind so I was worried about how things would be for us having read about Egypt not being very disability friendly but I need not have worried. Ehab our guest relations officer and Sammy the hotel services manager were so welcoming and friendly and went out of their way to make us all feel at home. My partners needs were totally considered and anything he wanted or needed was sorted out immediately. Our room was large and comfortable. The cleaning... more
Wonderful Hotel- Would Recomend it to Anyone!
After our trip to Egypt, I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. The Morris Hotel is very new, which you will discover if you ever choose to take the stairs (a few of the floors are very unfinished!), but the room we were given was beautifuly furnished and very clean. For such a low price per night, we came with fairly low expectations, but the room and service was far more than we expected and was probably better than most of the hotels we've stayed at back in America! We came to Luxor with no prior tour arraingements... more
Thoroughly Enjoyed Stay - Great Value For Money
Just got back from staying in Luxor and can only speak highly of this hotel. We got a half-board deal on teletext for a good price so our expectations weren't overly high. The hotel may not be totally finished but the rooms are still very comfortable and well decorated. On arrival we were given drinks and were met by the hotel manager Mohammed who was very friendly. We then ate in the Italian restaurant on the Mezzanine floor and were pleasantly surprised by the food which was a mixture of western and local dishes. As mainly European... more
