We stayed at this Hotel in October 2011 for one week. I enjoyed it and everything was good except that I would rate food only satisfactory. The food wasn't terrible, but it was kind of bland and quite repetitive so it grew old after a couple days. Otherwise, all was good.... more

Awful place. Manager is rude, threatening & intimidating. When the curtain rail in our room fell down (by the wind, we were in bed!)we were forced to pay for it. We tried to discuss it but all he would say was "you pay, we have your passport, we call the police, you miss... more

not that bad
stayed at the tossa beach may 2007 having read all the reviews before we went. it really isnt bad when you consider it only costs 109 pound for one weeks all inclusive, on the down side the food is really basic, but there is always something to eat, some of it was cold, and it is very repetative, but if you are looking for somewhere cheap to stay its not that bad. the room was cleaned and we had fresh towels every single day, and i have stayed in 4 star accommodation and that hasnt happened, tossa de mar is lovely, the beach is shingle. try the champagne sangria in the castle. so if you are looking for somewhere cheap and arnt very fussy then i would try it.
Good value for money
Stayed at the Tossa Beach Hotel last weekend for 3 nights, only paid £100pp for the 3 nights all inclusive! The hotel was clean and the staff very helpful, the pool was OK but didn't get sunny til lunch time. Food was nice, some spainish food which was lovely freash fish etc. The booze was OK, not the best in the world but wasn't expecting champagne! There was plenty of drink and food and the entertainment was cheesey but fun. The resort itself is lovely, not too busy and built-up. The beach is clean and the water is lovely and clear. Would recommend this for a good cheap holiday but do not expect the Ritz!
like a prison
Looking at some of the reviews of this dump, I guess it boils down to past experiences and expectations but I have to say this is possibly the worst place I have ever stayed in, and I have camped in downpours and freezing cold! The positives are the lovely authentic Spanish town of Tossa, the beach, weather and the nearness to Barcelona. All these things meant I enjoyed the holiday. However, the staff in the hotel were disinterested and vacant looking, the quality of the food and drink varied from average to disgusting, and you were served food in what seemed to be an underground cavern. The place has no soul and the behaviour of the guests is something to see: domestic violence next door, drunken fights, random obscene phone calls to other rooms at 3 a.m. You get what you pay for in many respects but I really did not believe the Peter Kay or Benidorm all-inclusive Brits abroad stereotypes existed, but they all frequent this hotel. I'd be amazed if any of the clientele left the place during my stay, but I think this is to the benefit of the lovely unspoilt town just a few hundred yards away. Go to Tossa De Mar but stay in a pensione.
Disgusting hotel
The worste place ever in my eyes and I am not a fussy person. Was a bit worried because of the reviews but thought they must be over the top. On arriving at 11.30 pm no food available after 6 hrs travelling. The room was above the entertainment which was boom boom and we asked to change rooms but was told no other rooms available for 3 nights. We did put up with it and drunken yobs and banging all night the first three nights no sleep at all. The food was absolutely disscusting. It was all cold and it was hard to know what you were eating at times one day it was tripe and rabbit sausages which looked dreadful. We were told not to eat the chicken and to be honest not much more variety to eat. I had a bad stomache for 3 days and so did other people who we met there. The sweets were the same (mostly blancmange type) left out for hours and hours and then if there was something like a cake it was still frozen when you dug into it and the next day it was the same as if it had been re-frozen. I had ice cream one night which I also think had been re-frozen and the bottom had like a slime in it. Guaranteed to lose weight there so if you want to go on a diet then I would recommend it.
More like a 18-30 hotel.
This is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. The food was basic and always the same. The sweets were put out at breakfast, stayed out until lunchtime, then frozen until dinner. They were very strict on giving out snacks or drinks only in twos and unfortunately we were a party of three! We had a group of 35 girls on a hen night, 15 men on a stag night and 10 women on a works outing. The All Inclusive finished at 12 am so they went to the local bars until between 3 am and 5 am. They made lots of noise, banged doors, then rang each other by the internal phones or mobiles. Nobody slept for long! The television had only two working channels in Spanish and the shower did not hook onto the wall. We were lucky as we had a shower curtain. The fridge is locked and there was no mini bar as suggested. If you are looking just to get drunk and fall over, go to this hotel, otherwise steer clear!
Great Hotel
2adults 2 Kids (4 and 10) We just got back from the tossa beach hotel, went at the begining of May. First impressions were great, looked nice and are rooms were all clean and tidy. Exactly what you would expect form a 3 star. The beach was lovely, surrouding area was great, nice and quiet for me and my husband but still stuff for the kids to do. Were alreadsy planning to return in the summer, great hotel and great staff
Take ear plugs
Just back from a short break at the Tossa Beach Hotel. On the positive side the hotel in a great location near to the beach and and the town center. The food was edible but not the best and often cold. Drinks in all inclusive option are good and bar staff happy to give you more than the two drinks per person limit. The worst thing about the hotel is the noise, don't go if you want an afternoon nap of to go to bed before midnight as you you will be kept awake form either the noise from the pool area or the thumping noise from the bar. The pool does not get any sun till after 2.00pm and is very small. Lots of families or gran parents with gran children at hotel, kids made lots of noise but were generally well behaved. Tossa its self is a lovely place and not typical of the area. Very few Brit bars and football top shops and has an international feel. If you are looking for a cheap break book the Tossa Center Hotel, not the Tossa Beach, it has been just refurbished and although you need to cross the road as all the meals and entertainment is in the Tossa Beach it is a much nicer and quieter hotel
A plastic cup of tea ?
A classic case of you get what you pay for. We paid about £15 each per night all inclusive and got grubby accomodation complete with beds with incontinance sheets on as though everyone pees the bed, grotty food ( left over fried eggs from breakfast put out at lunch time for example) all drinks served in plastic glasses and that includes tea and coffee, by waiters with no manners or charisma, just poured out and thrown at you, for red wine read cheap sangria and vice versa, dismal evening entertainment and a pool the size of a postage stamp. The all inclusive snacks consist of ham and cheese toasties and burgers, thats it and only until 6.30 pm.The sister hotel across the road is much nicer though, a lot more modern and cleaner with polite staff but an even smaller pool. Just a quick comparison, we stayed in the Hotel Costa Brava last year for less than this one, ok not all inclusive just half board but far superior in every way. All in all a pretty dismal place and we won't be going back.
great
just come back from this hotel it was great weather hot. as for the bar staff you dont expect to go away these days and get spanish bar staff.food was excellent something for everyone. tossa centre across road road was lovely, would stay there again . maids came in everyday clean towels and changed the beds twice in a wk now thats excellent to me .and the end of the day for what we paided was excellent.great for the kid someone at nite dancing wiyh the kid and kids club was great .a young lad and girl entertained the children nite and day baking videos games etc would go bk there again . ryanair are spot on with the weight off cases 15 kg dont go over charged us 56 euros for being over weight, just billed us at airport and coudnt get boarding card till paid it dont take switch had 2 be visa debit card or cash so beware . that it really o and a 2 min walk to the beach great lovely place hope this is helpful enough
April 6-13th 2 adults 2 kids aged 15 & 12
Booked through Imperial Travel. Flew with Ryan Air NEVER AGAIN. On the way home the airline decided that we have no baggage allowance and charged us 48 Euros to get home (this was 12 Euros per suitcase) we were not told of this extra expense on the way out and the airlines response was "I will charge you for both ways if you like" how rude. The Hotel was clean and the bedding and towels changed regularly. I fell out of the shower and ended up in hospital - this involved going the the local A&E and then a trip in a taxi to the main hospital in Blanes (27 Euros) where I only needed my E111 card and was swiftly xrayed and thank god I had only sprained my wrist. The hospital staff were brilliant. (and spoke excellent English). I have to say I was not the only person to slip in the shower - they need bath mats. The food was plentyful although a little cold a times - lots of fish, including paella, chips, pork etc. Mash and croquet potatoes. The breakfast was particulrly good although I still cant get used to their sausages. The bar staff didnt speak English or Spanish! and you got pot luck some of the time. The reception man was excellent and very helpful. They have little to do for teenagers in the hotel except table tennis and of course the pool (which was freezing) but it was April. (and it rained nearly every day). The bar area or community centre as I like to call it was unreal. Cramped in wet weather with nothing to do (except for a magician one day). The evening entertainment was a joke with a woman on a organ and make your own entertainment by singing twice a week. Thank god for the computers in reception so the kids could go on MSN and talk to their friends at home(how sad is that) we came on holiday to get them off the computers and they spent most of their time sat on them in the reception. ( you can get cheaper rates on computers at other hotels - our rates were 1 Euro for 8 minutes. The beach is shingle and there is a nice glass bottom boat ride not to be missed. All in all its not the hotels fault that the weather was very bad and I think that in the summer when you can sit outside and drink and smoke in peace it would have been a different holiday altogether. ( you cant smoke in the hotel which is a good thing really) and you do get chucked out promptly at midnight. NO FREE FOOD AFTER 6.30PM IS NOT WHAT I CALL ALL INCLUSIVE. More like full board really. Hope this helps.
