" Just arrived back from a wicked 2... "

Just arrived back from a wicked 2 week stay at the alp hotel with my mum. After reading some of the reviews i was a bit worried about what it would be like but when we arrived at the hotel to be greeted by the porters to carry in our bags it didnt seem so bad. We checked in pretty quickly and was given our room key. We got to our rooms which were very clean and a reasonable size for us, the balcony was huge and the view was beautiful as well. As we was half board in the hotel all our evening meals were there and we couldn't have asked for anythign better you could help yourself to salad, the the waiters would bring you a soup and then after that your main meal. Overall the holiday was great all the waiters making everyones holiday as enjoyable as possible. I enjoyed it so much ive booked to go back in 2 weeks. See you guys all soon , halil (sonic), egi, isa, ect

Myself and my daughter recently spent two weeks at the Alp Hotel. We have been to Turkey numerous times before but can honestly say this has been the best holiday we have had, this was obviously due to the resort but it was mainly because of the Hotel and more importantly the staff who worked there. Every single member of staff were pleasant, helpful and went out of their way to accommodate your needs and make sure your holiday was an enjoyable one. Isa the Manager was fantasic, he interacted with guests to make sure the evenings were entertaining and everybody was having a good time. The staff were also excellent with my daughter trying to teach her some basic Turkish words etc and again helping keep her entertained she especially liked Isa, Murat, Sonic (Halil), Emerah and Eggy, who were just full of fun and energy.
There were a few guests there at the same time as us who were complaining about this and that but to be honest they were just expecting too much and forgot exactly how little they had paid to stay and eat at this Hotel. The food and the accomodation were not 5* but we didn't pay 5* prices and to be honest both were exeptional value for money.
The dogs barking was sometimes a little loud but ear plugs sorted that out and I didn't have any sleepless nights. So remember to take some with you and you should be fine.
The hotel was kept spotless, the cleaner came into your room every day and actually did really clean the room which is unlike what we have found in the past at other Hotels.
If you are wanting to go on holiday, not be a moaner and really make the most of your holiday, be full of fun and game for a laugh then this hotel is for you.
I will definately be booking again for next year.

" Location - up quite a steep hill from... "

Location - up quite a steep hill from the beach and the town, although there is a regular bus which you pay a lira for to get into town. One side of the hotel faces other hotels whilst the other side faces the sea (with other hotels in the way) and there was also a big dirt road as part of the view. I presume there was some sort of building work going to be taking place.
Staff - were friendly although my fiancé is Turkish so whenever I asked them something in English, despite them being able to understand and answer they chose to reply in Turkish to him. One member of staff (on a nighttime) actually ignored what I was asking completely and it wasn't until my fiancé spoke to him did we get what we had asked for. You will be encouraged to go to Chez Maurice’s restaurant and/or dolphin’s beach as the guy who owns the hotel is related to the guy with the restaurant. Me and my fiancé went to the beach (it is miles away but there’s a free bus) but we were unable to get back when we wanted and ended up waiting an extra hour or so more. There is a free bus also provided on an evening to Chez Maurice’s - the food is nice and the staff are friendly but again be prepared to stay there a bit longer then you maybe have planned to.
Room - we had to pay for the air conditioning which is annoying seeing as it is needed really at the height of the season (you wouldn't charge tourists in England for heating in winter!). The room was pleasant enough and we had our own balcony. The shower was a little grotty but it did what was required of it. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't believe in investing in double sheets and covers so if you're going as a couple be prepared for two single beds to be pushed together with single bedding on. The towels are changed but not necessarily every day.
Pool - the pool is small and on the roof top. I would estimate it is about 20ft long and 10ft wide. Also the children's pool being no more than something you could probably fit in your own bathroom at home - I wouldn't recommend more than maybe 8 people in the main pool and 4 in the children’s pool. There is a bar up there also but it's pricey for what you're getting.
Food - breakfast was the only meal we had in the hotel and to us it was lovely - it consisted of bread, cheese, eggs, meat, jams, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, watermelon, tea, coffee and juice. We usually bought some food from the supermarket for lunch and smuggled it in (you're not allowed outside food in the hotel) and then ate out on an evening.
Town - you can either walk or get the bus into town depending on how you feel. We generally walked into town and got the bus back as we couldn't be bothered to walk up the hill late at night. There are plenty of places where you can eat although with Kusadasi being a typical tourist area the food is mainly chips, burgers, Chinese, Italian and kebabs so perfect for those of you who like home from home with added sunshine. However for those who like to try different foods you may be a little disappointed. We ate at Ali Babas one night with specializes in fish - it is pricey as fish is paid for by weight but you do get to choose what you want. All the other nights we went to this little Turkish place we discovered which was cheap and cheerful - we couldn't have asked for better! Also in town are vast amounts of market stalls selling fake designer handbags, clothes and Turkish souvenirs.
Beach - we never actually went to the main beach as I don't like sand and my fiancé can't swim but it looked lovely and other people seemed to enjoy it.
Things to do - there are quite a few tours to go on which are advertised quite frequently. We went on a boat trip which was great - lunch included. We also went to Ephesus - make sure you take water with you if you go as there aren’t any opportunities to buy it once inside. However, bear in mind it's only 20 lira to get into Ephesus so don't be conned like we were to buy a package for more. The taxis will take you to Ephesus for about €40 (check if that's return) so you may be able to save money if you're going as a family. There are also other things you can so such as going to a Turkish bath, seeing Pammukale, boat trip to Greece and many more but they're not free.
All in all I had a great time in Kusadasi and don't really have any complaints. I do feel the air con should have been free as in July we really did need it and that the hotel could have had more entertainment besides a bar and one night of karaoke for the whole week.

All I can say is that we had a wonderful 2 weeks in the nicest, friendliest hotel we have been to in Turkey. The rooms were clean and basic but hey! who's going to go on holiday and stay in their room every day all day? the maid came in every day and left the room clean and tidy.
We arrived very early in the morning and after a few hours sleep we went down to reception to ask for a bath mat and also for someone to look at the toilet, the toilet was making a loud noise. The Manager saw to it straight away! the noise was an air lock and the bath mat was in the bathroom when we returned to our room. We have stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels where this kind of swift service doesn't exist! Eesaa (I think that's how his name is spelt) the Manager was fantastic! he was very helpful and friendly and also very very funny! his team were wonderful! nothing too much trouble.
Take a day trip to Chez Maurice Restaurant, the brother of the owner of the hotel has this restaurant and he has a Dolmus free shuttle service every day that takes you to and from the restaurant that is situated on Long Beach (beautiful!) you can go at 10 or 11 oclock in the morning and return at 5 or 6 in the evening, a great day!
The marina is about 5 minutes walk down a steep road that is easy to walk down. We would spend a day around the Marina in in Centrum and then hop a dolmus back to the hotel which stopped right outside the hotel!!
I would certainly go back to this hotel the staff were great and the atmosphere was very very wecloming!
