The Amalia Apartments were the filthiest i have ever seen....and managed by the rudest and most unhelpful people i have ever met.
If you have unfortunately already booked them for your holiday - take towels, a kettle and clean bedding, and plenty of cleaning products.

What can I say we have just returned from this hell hole, why can't i put zero rating, got to apartment and waited for 2hrs as cleaners were still cleaning room, then when given key told there was no safety deposit box as key was missing, then went up to the room and what a s--t hole, god knows what the cleaners were doing. the front door frame was hanging off, plug sockets hanging off, dirty sheets and towels, toilet rolls covered in what looked like fairy liquid, cooker that didnt work at all, toaster that looked like it had toasted a rat need i go on. no fan available to cool room down, so what was supposed to be self catering soon turned into room only.
Then we go to the reception or should i say lack of reception as it is just the man behind the bar that don't really give 2 hoots and he goes bout 10 at night. then you just go to get the kids off too sleep about midnight and the music starts from the many Spanish bars along the street until 5am every morning.
All i can say if you are even contemplating staying here YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!

Dont go to these appartments there is no proper reception, we had 2 wait on a room for about 3 hours. The toilets downstairs had stains down them and they stunk!!
The appartment was really small, one of the plugs had cellotape on it to keep it on the wall, the wood was rotting away in the cupboard and the fridge was stinking, u could cook in the kitchen and the tiles on the floor were cracked!
We had clean sheets the first day, and two of the pillow cases were childrens pillow cases with stick men and birds on them! The balcony was not safe as the railin was loose! The tiles were cracked and parts of the wall were falling off! The chairs and table outside were stinking aswell!!
We didnt get clean towels, sheets or our room cleaned! The tiles on the stairs to the pool were cracked aswell! There was no entertainment at night either!!We were told it has went from a 3 star till a hostel, and thats exactly what it looks like!! Also you are right in the middle of the spainish bars which go on until 6 or 7 in the morning!!The place was just a dump and after a few days we had enough and moved somewhere else!!which we had 2 pay for!!

Well what can I say!!!! I booked this apartment as I wanted something basic no frills for me and my mam to enjoy a cheepy in Spain!!! Nothing could have prepared us for the Amalia Apartments. We arrived at 12.30 pm only to find all the doors were locked with a sign telling us to call a number as nobody works on a Sunday!! not having a mobile on us we had to talk kindly to a bar man of the bar next door to lend us his phone- then when someone answered they didnt understand english.
We had to sit in the bar till someone opened the door at 5.30 am!!!! when we finally got in to the apartments we were horrified, the beds were rock hard there wasnt a light fitting in the room we had 1 and half a used toilet roll! no toilet seat on the toilet- towels were filthy and we werent given new ones neither were our bed sheets changed. The pool was ok but the area around it was disgusitng and everyone we spoke to thought the same. It was an ideal dossing place for youngsters that were as rough as they come, to party until 7am in the morning shouting screaming playing loud music and dancing and there was absolutely nothing we could do about it because in the week that we were there- the reception wasnt manned once!! the day we moved out there was chaos as some of the guests had been squeezing tomato sauce on to others balconies!- This place needs to be avoided at all costs!! it is a disgrace and a hell hole!!!- Dont waste your money!!!!!

This rating is purely based on the location and nothing more. The Amalia apartments were absolutely disgusting and certainly below basic. The staff were unhelpful and could not speak english and they did not seem to acknowledge you whatsoever. The apartments seemed more like a holiday home for the owners family as oppose to anything else. The room was adequate for 1 weeks stay, however, the apartments in general were filthy. The pool area was untidy and scruffy and in all there were limited sun loungers that were actually safe to sit on (2 to be precise.) The hotel bar was about as big as a shoe box and there was often nowhere to sit as the manager was generally asleep across the seats. We were advised by another holiday maker not to eat in the hotel and therefore i cannot comment on the food. Unfortunately, she had been ill from the food the whole week. However, the 'British Square' was only a 5 minute walk away and a real must as it was open until 6am. On the other hand, the strip were Amalia apartments were sitauated could be compared to ghost town. Also, the lovely levante beach was a short walk away and a great place to spend your days. THIS IS NOT A JOKE, Amalia apartments need a serious makeover or better still, knock them down!!!!!

I must say that these apartments are a dump and agree with most of the reviews that the staff were less than helpful.
I would definately not recommend these apartments for any family holidays.
The bar staff below have nothing to do with the apartments but were as helpful as they could be.
I was in a party of 21 men and so only needed somewhere to sleep, and it sufficed for this purpose, and i must admit that if this had been a better class of hotel we would probably have been evicted. The biggest problem is the lack of security and the lack of keys (only 1 set per room) which if there are 3 or 4 sharing can cause problems.

Where to start, this place is a dump!
No-one on reception when arrived, waited over 30mins then had to go looking for someone. When he did come keys were in a drawer, not locked away.
Apartments were large but dated. Wiring and boiler were faulty. We had no hot water for showers, lights & fridge would trip when turned on. Luckily we were with another couple & had to use their shower which was something, as they had no intention of moving us or repairing them. We asked daily and reply was its kaput!
Only one toilet roll for 2 weeks, no cleaner, no change of linen or towels - you had to go to reception & ask but no-one ever there, so had to resort to taking off cleaners trolley when she cleaned rooms that people had vacated.
Very noisy until 6am with Spanish discos and bars.
Don’t have the worst holiday ever like we did!
Keep away!

Well all I can say is what a DUMP. All the staff we managed to talk to was just not interested or drunk. So we stayed away from the tip as long as possible. In my personal opinion the shed should be knocked down with or without the drunks in it. Waste of money, holiday from hell. KEEP AWAY FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY. Find another hotel as the resort, beach and night life is superb.

Have just returned from Benidorm, stayed in the Amalia Apartments and found them of very poor standard. First of all there were no maids, so no change of bed linen or towels.
Owners were not very helpful, no English and just found them to be totally not interested in their customers.
Only plus points was that the barman John, was friendly and did what he could to help us. Almost forgot, there was no key to the safe so had to hide money around the place!
The reason I give it 5 was because I am young and enjoy going out all night but if you have children this place would be a total nightmare, enough said.

My mum and I arrived at our apartment at 11 pm and the doors were locked and nobody on reception. We then saw someone approaching us from the bar next door, he was spanish and spoke very little English. We went to room and it took me about 10 mins to unlock door cos key was faulty. I was desperate for shower and couldn't believe there was no shower curtain. Mum went down to reception as I am visually impaired and few minutes later she phoned my mobile to say there was nobody about and was locked out, luckily the man who checked us in saw her. He played about with our door for a bit and we said we weren't going out, he assured us that door and shower curtain would be sorted next day.
We stayed in all day so we could talk to person because we discovered living room light wouldn't switch off and of course no one on reception we could tell. No one turned up till the following day with curtain, we told him about light and door but are still waiting for him to come back.
There were no cleaners all week and not a phone to be found anywhere in apartments, not even reception. First choice have told us they will not be sending anyone there again. It's a shame that apartments have gone down cos we stayed here a few years ago and it was run properly with reception always staffed and apartments cleaned regular.
The day we checked out we asked bar owner John were luggage room was and couldn't believe it when he put luggage in a battered shed in pool area. Holiday done us some good cos we had just had close bereavement in family and if anything Amalia was such a joke it made us laugh. Amalia are very noisy cos few pubs next door with music banging till about 5 am, this didn't bother us cos we were out till late ourselves.

The rooms were to a poor standard for what we paid. Not only were they dirty but many of the appliances did not even work, e.g. cooker, no hot water, and the sofa bed was broken.
We also found the security to the apartments was not up to standard. security door always left open, did not feel safe leaving any of our belongings behind.
Really only suitable for young people just wanting somewhere to sleep.

Even for an all girls holiday not expecting our accommodation to be of the highest standard, we found The Amalia Apartments to be of the poorest quality.
If you would like towels for your shower instead of drip drying I suggest you bring your own. Provided are two towels per apartment regardless of occupancy and not changed during your stay. There was two half rolls of toilet tissue provided for our stay.
Be warned when opening the kitchen cupboards the door handles drop off and will stick to you with accumulated grime over the years. During our stay the cupboards remained firmly closed with disposables at the ready.
The pool area was filthy and don't be expecting a sunbed, as there is only about 6 the rest remain stacked in a corner busted and broken.
On a good day the lifts work you will probably find there is 1 in operation per day.
No way would I recommend that a family go near The Amalia Apartments barely liveable for young lively people.
The only positive I have is that we had a fridge freezer in the apartment.

Never again. No change of linen or towels for two weeks.
There was no kettle, only one ring on the cooker was working and no heating.
There were no keys to the safe and the patio door wouldn't lock. We had to hide money and passports within the room.
John and his wife were very helpful, bar owners, but fighting a losing battle.
Music was blasting out until 7am every morning.
