dont normaly read the reviews but strongly need to say i would not recomend this place
to anyone . the staff in snack bar very rude left you sitting at table waiting for a drink for over twenty min. if you come out of the place and go up the road ther is plenty to do and more places to eat and just a little further youll find shops. there is a little fairground where we spent a lot of time after drinking playing on the dogems and we were all over 40 that was the best bit......

2nd year at the jabega last year not very good due to being ill, this year we thought we would try again and we was made very welcome. sea view apartment, room cleaned every day, furniture a bit out dated, staff great and helpful after the year before actually pleased to see us. beach across the road, all flat good for walking the short distance to fuengirola, good places to eat, the snack shack in fuengirola, the upper crust kennedys bar, manolas cafe bar, too many to mention, looky looky men a torment, just say no. booked for June next year.

Got switched to La Jabega the day before we were due to fly out and other reviews indictaed that the hotel was of a good standard, the only difference between this and the original hotel being no pool (this would be because its a beach front hotel - cross the road youre on the beach!)
Location :
The hotel is on the promenade, rooms have large balconies offering great views of the beach and the main strip, its not too noisy with all live music finishing at 00:00
The beach is imaculate, no litter, no dogs allowed so very clean, if you want a sun lounger they cost £7.50 a day, I presume one of the reasons for the cost is the fact that the beaches are kept so clean, even the paths are swept clear each night.
There is a nice cool breeze that blows off the sea which is great because the average temperature when we were there was 34. Do be warned the sea is absolutely freezing!!!
There is the standard North African markettraders offering DVDs, Watches, T-Shirts, Jewellery etc that come and wake you from your sun kissed slumber, but they move on immediately when you say "no" and for an added twist a community of Asians that offer to perform full body or foot massages on the beach.
There is a train station - Los Bochillos (the smaller of the 2 serving Fuengirola)that is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The trains are fast, clean and punctual and very cheap - return to Benelmadena £3
Plenty of choice when it comes to eating and of the 6 restaurants we tried all were good value although the prices are similar to home.
If youre not cooking your own food and dont have breakfast included in your booking, shop around, full English ranges from £7.50 t £1.50 (The hotel is not the best nor cheapest for a fry up)
If buying ciagrettes use the proper tobacconist located behind the hotel, cheaper than the sea front ones (also has a good offer on 800 fags with free bottle of Smirnoff)
There are numerous supermarkets including "Spainsburys". Lidl and Spar, also an abundace of small comfortable bars offering Tapas - also recommended.
The Hotel :
The hotel is modern, well decorated, well staffed and drinks and food are of a reasonable price for the surrounding area. The rooms are spacious enough, with good sized balconies, a small but functional kitchen and very very comfortable beds.
The rooms are cleaned 6 days a week by some very friendly maids and towles are changed daily - these ladies work hard and do a really good job.
Hot water all day long for showers / baths, free air conditioning which is great (little tip there is a circuit breaker on the balcony door, so if the door is open you cant have the air conditioning on)
Reception staff are professional, NOT rude as some others have said.
Special metnion to Raphael one of the bar staff, very friendly and efficient an asset to the hotel.
So to sum up, we loved it here, probably a bonus being moved given the location, would definately recommend, would definately stay here again if back in Fuengirola, probably not the right area of the Spanish coast for a family holiday, given its quite quiet but for us this wasnt a problem.
