We stayed at the Imperial Holiday Hotel between 7th March - 11th March.

The stay at the hotel was generally pleasant.

The pool was not heated so there was no chance of an early morning swim. Actually no swimming at all due to the cold water.

The area around the pool was dirty and a bit muddy, and so there was no desire to go to the pool.

The bar by the pool was pretty dead and the Roof top terrace was closed also.

The lifts were a slight problem, as only 2 people were aloud in at any one time and although there were two lifts only one of them was in use.

The Reception area was quite nice. The staff were pretty friendly but speak very minimal English!

The excursions lady was away the first two days of our holiday, however on her return she was pushy, seemed annoyed as we had booked excursions through the office of tourism.

The Traditional Moroccan night Fantasia was rubbish and the food was awful. Don’t be pushed into booking any excursions, would recommend you go to the office of tourism.

The rooms was ok, not 4* by any means. The shower kept going from hot and cold and the bedroom was so cold on a night, 2 of our light bulbs were not working despite having told the reception staff 3 times!!

The breakfast was not at all what I expected, they had a few bits of warm food but mostly pastries etc, not good if you’re looking for a light breakfast, and we ended up going out for breakfast instead.

I wouldn't book this hotel again there are so many nicer hotels in Marrakesh for around the same price!!

Hotel is officially classed as a 4* but is definitely more of a 3* if not less.

Reception area is quite nice, but overall the rooms are tired looking but otherwise fairly clean.

The breakfast consists of a hot option (usually omelette and sometimes sausage as well), cereals, juices, tea, coffee, cold meat, fruits and cheese, and lots and lots of pastries/croissants.

All buffet style. We ate there one evening and the food was fine - again buffet style.

Pool area is small and not a great deal of sun, pool is not heated. No working water cascade (as per the brochure photos) either.

The pool snack bar wasn't open and the upstairs roof top bar/restaurant was only open until around sundown when we went. Apparently all facilities are open fully during the spring/summer months. Rooftop bar good for sunbathing and fantastic views.

There is a weekly Moroccan evening which I gather is usually a Tuesday, but was switched to a Saturday night when we visited, so other Thomson guests could attend from other hotels.

Good points are: staff were pretty friendly and helpful; guest relations helpful; location means it's not far from restaurants etc. 30 mins stroll to main square/medina.

Bad points: The road is a bit run down but you do see the real morocco and is perfectly safe at night to walk down!

Hotel is very tired and could do with refurbishment, certainly the room we stayed in.

Pool area is small and run down. Main bar is often full of locals in the evening but that was fine, as we talked to them as they were friendly enough although, I think some guests were put off by it.
