Have stayed here last two years. First year was horror story, but not Hotel's fault. Weather during week 14th Feb was horrid, which kept the skiing to a minimum, also a boozy unruly Irish group who partied into late hours, despite guests and Hotel staff pleading for... more

Ideally placed for slopes, warm and clean. However, food is very poor with cold bacon, eggs etc at breakfast and a constant search for essentials such as cereal bowls, spoons, milk, orange juice. The buffet just wasn't replenished often enough and guests constantly had to... more

All Round Winner
Free sweets on the desk!!!...and massive buffet spreads every day - wide choice of exotic and traditional American at dinner, lovely hot breakfasts ...friendly staff take your plate as soon as you clean it (controversial but credit probably due)...pleasant fireside bar area with pool tables (overpriced).2 pound pints (typical for Pas hotels).. free lockers for ski kit (unheated but convenient and well ventilated) ...a somewhat grimy spa with nevertheless excellent sauna and jacuzzi beside the small well-heated pool . The whole place is literally a stone's throw from the piste (and almost without gradient to get there). Our room was an excellent 4th floor Velux windowed studio with plenty room for 4, lots of cupboards, good wooden floors and bathroom fixtures and a smashing view (see pic). Loved it
Highly recommended hotel
4 of us stayed in this hotel last year and I'd highly recommend it. The rooms were lovely and comfortable, clean and spacious. Our room had great views out over the pistes too. Meals were buffet style and the food was fantastic. Enough for all tastes ~ drinks though were not included which is annoying but understandable I guess. Interms of location, it's hard for it to be beaten, by walking about 20m down the road and down steps, you're on the piste close to the main lifts. For heading out, again the nightlife is just a quick stroll away with the popular Catsbys and Milwaulkee very close. The pool again was small and busy but the steam room, sauna and whirlpool more than made up for it! Staff were friendly and polite. I've nothing negative to say about this hotel at all, I'd highly recommend it.
4 star it is not, dirty hotel unfriendly staff!
We were a small group of 5 staying in Pas for the 3rd time. After reading the reviews from this site we decided to spend the extra €300 and go for the 4 star hotel with pool in the Himilaia. Our expectations were high as we had previously stayed at the Magic & Alaska hotels which were excellent!! 1st impressions were great, reception room was nice and big and the hotel seemed clean with friendly staff upon our arrival. After moving to our rooms however things changed. We had booked tripple room for 3 and twin for 2. The tripple had 2 decent beds with a couch bed. The couch bed was one of the most uncomfortable contraptions ever built. Not what you expect when you pay €1000 for 6 nights! Pillows were a joke in each room (we all got creeks in our necks). Worst of all was it seemed the house keeping staff rarely changed the sheets. For 4 days in a row my friends and I's sheets had blood stains on them (not from either of us). After complaining nothing was done (4 days in a row!). Our room was also ice cold as the central heating didn't work. Thankfully on the 3rd day it was fixed only to be perminantly 40 degrees!! My friend also started to get little bites all over from bed bugs! Food: All in all the buffet's were "ok" but still sub standard when compared tot he Magic hotel (which is cheaper). Breakfasts were a joke, who serves vegetables like carrots, brocolli etc in the morning??? Pool/Sauna: The pool was cold, dirty with broken tiles and damp ridden walls/ceilings. The Sauna never worked and is in need of some serous maintenance. The jacuzi had broken tiles and again the water was cold/dirty!! The serious complaint we now have is upon returning home and my friends bites getting worse he visited his GP. The doctor advised him that he had contracted "Scabies" from the beds in the hotel!!!!!!!!!!! Scabies only manifest themselves in filthy conditions!! Summary: Do not stay in this hotel, it is not worth the money. The Alaska hotel or Magic hotel are around the corner both are close to the slopes and are cheaper and far superior in every way. This is not a 4 star hotel, I travel and stay in hotels a lot with work and the Himilaia would struggle to be a poor 3 start or an OK 2 star hotel in my book. We will return to Pas but we will never stay in the Himilaia again and will be advising our friends to do the same! Ciaran Dublin
Not too bad
Medium sized hotel, very clean. Pool area is very small but was empty when we went. I thought the food was good but my fussy friends did not find it so good, it made me laugh when one night the chef put out a tray of onion rings....finally some greasy fast food, they were so overjoyed, they piled their plates high....needless to say, they did not enjoy the calamari! I would say that this hotel is best suited to people who want to avoid the loud lightlife of Pas but enjoy the great skiing. The hotel is a 4 min walk to the slopes, you ski down the hill slightly to get on the main chair lift. This is a fantastic ski area also!
Great Hotel
3 years in Pas and the Himalaia , 05,06,07. So that should speak for itself. Hotel best in Pas. Food great and plentiful after a long day outdoors One negative about Pas, if your male, hetrosexual, single i.e looking to meet (even talk to) a female, Pas is NOT for you. The nickname MANDORRA is well deserved. BTW I'm happily married but my fellow group members were in the main single, and for that reason we will not return in 08.
Thoroughly enjoyable
Just returned from my first trip to Andorra which was thoroughly enjoyed. The skiing was excellent, we enjoyed two snow falls during our holiday which kept the piste conditions for this time of year excellent. Not sure why this hotel isn't rated higher on this site, the Himalaia is in my opinion one of the better hotels in Pas De La Casa and rates well amongst other hotels well in other resorts. The public areas are warm and welcoming, the rooms are large, we were in room 404 which benefits from velux windows and a balcony overlookng Pas De La Casa and the slopes. The bathroom is large with decent shower but beware as with most ski resort hotels there is no hot water during peak bath/shower times 17:00 to 19:00. The breakfast at the hotel was good, evening meals were as expected, eat to fill yourself but very average in tatse and satisfaction. Meals out are very reasonable anyway so would recommend eating out a few nights at least. I agree there can be alot of noise during the evening and early hours but the benefit of this hotel is its at the end of the resort, few miutes walk into centre but very few people walking past so little chance of noise waking you up while sleeping. Pool, sauna, jacuzzi facilties at the hotel are great for relaxing and soothing the aches and pains after a hard days skiing. Overall Pas De La Casa surprised me greatly, I have been skiing for over 24 years and have been lead to believe Andorra was for beginners, contrary to belief there is ample enjoyable skiing, even for the advanced of skiiers. I look forward to a reutrn trip to Andorra and a definate return to hotel Himalaia.
Very Good Ski Hotel
Stayed here from 19-25 March and we were told we had the best week's skiing of this season at Pas de la Casa. It had snowed quite a lot the week before, but most of our week was beautiful & sunny. We were able to make good use of the easy access to the slopes from the Himalaia Hotel, and range over the whole Grand Vallira Ski area to Grau Roig, Soldeu & El Tartar. If you are a reasonable skiier I would reccomend Staying at Pas. The ski areas of Pas & Grau Roig, have mostly red & black runs. Beginners would fare better staying in Soldeu as there are more easy cruising blues on which to find your ski or boarding legs. The Hotel is indeed everything that everyone else has said. Clean, pleasantly decorated, good staff & great food. They even have a Chef present at every meal, cooking fresh food on a grill to your request and taste - the river trout from here was excellent & would satisfy any self appointed gourmand like me! I was very surprised to read poor reviews of the food at the Sister Himalaia Hotel, Soldeu, as the Buffet Breakfast & Dinners provided in Pas really could not be faulted. The Pool, Sauna and Jacuzzi were all on the small side, but never really got crowded enough for this to matter. I do think that this sector of the hotel is looking a bit 'tired' though, in contrast to the recent makeover of the rest of the building. Free Ski Lockers, 20yard access to the slopes, and a generally cosy atmosphere in this hotel all helped to make a great value skiing trip & I would be happy to go back to this Hotel at some time in the future.
Fantastic Hotel! Really clean and great acess to the slopes
This was my first experience of a hotel, skiing Holiday and what a pleasure it was. All the Hotel staff spoke great English and were friendly. The room was lovely and clean although they were a little on the warm side, but this was great for getting all your ski stuff dry!! Access to the slopes was right on the door step and after a hard days skiing you didn’t have far to walk back to the hotel. The hotel had lockers in the basement for all your ski equipment etc at no extra cost just a deposit which you got back. The selection of runs were great as you had all the different resorts to choose from. A good mix or blue, red and black runs, and even a few trees here and there! The food was great with a massive selection of food. The bar had a warm and friendly approach which was nice to relax in. The swimming pool although a bit on the small side was well used and the Jacuzzi and sauna were just the ticket after a hard day on the slopes. As for the town it has all the normal pubs, shops and LOADS of perfume shops! All in all I was impressed and would recommend the hotel. If you get a chance I would recommend Bumboarding as it was great fun!
Lovely Hotel
This is a lovely clean hotel with friendly staff and a lovely bar. The dining is big and spacious and most of the food we were served was lovely. Its less then 2 minute walk down hill to the bottom of the slopes, unless you are a beginner, if so be prepared for a long walk to the ski school ( bear in mind all the gear you will be carrying too). Pas de la Casa is a big lively resort with pleny of shops and bars. If you get the opportunity to go Skidooing, take it its great fun.
brilliant location!
We have recently returned from a week skiing over christmas in Andorra, at the resort Pas De La Casa. We stayed in the 4 star hotel Himalaia Pas. It was excellent. The hotel is clean and very friendly. There was a range of customers there, including couples and families. The rooms were spacious and cleaned every day. The buffet breakfast and dinner was great. There were enough choices for everyone and service was exceptional. The best part about this hotel was its location. It was a short 20 metre walk to the slopes, where you could ski down to 3 lift chairs, that lead over the mountain into other resorts such as Grau Roig and Soldeu. I would recommend this hotel. The spa, sauna and swimming pool were surprisingly empty after hard day on the slopes.
