Sheraton Salobre Golf Resort & Spa

We are just about to return from a week´s stay at this hotel. BEDROOMS - This was large, spacious, and modern but had a clear glass bathroom looking out onto the bedroom and balcony. The balcony had a table, chairs and also a sofa. Our main problem was the shower water, it was continuously boiling hot then freezing cold; this would be a major safety aspect if you had children. Well we 1st came in November 06 when the hotel had only been open for a few months. There were a few teething problems, but we thought such a beautiful hill top view and overall design of hotel would be worth another visit later in 07 once the hotel and its staff had time to settle in. Just back from 8 days at the sheraton salobre ,gran canaria, spain with the whole family ( 2 kids ). We had an excellent room with a splendid view on the golf course. An airconditioning problem was promptly solved by offering us a new and " fresher" room with functioning ac, not a luxury with 47 degrees celsius the week before we arrived. Having undertaken significant internet research for our holiday we were very much looking forward to our trip and this hotel - we were not disappointed at all - in fact all our expectations were exceeded by far. I booked this hotel with airline network at a great rate. I stayed about a month after this hotel opened. The hotel, location, rooms were fantastic, but the service and food options were not great. When i stayed, the gym and pool were not open and the buffet meal was only open on weekends as the hotel was not full. We booked a 4 night stay directly with the hotel over the Easter period. I paid for a premium corner room with corner glass balcony. We had booked transport to and from the airport with the hotel. The car was waiting and we had a comfortable drive to the hotel - so far so good. The compter system was down when we arrived, so we were handed our key card and given directions to our room. Me and my daughter (3 years old) spent one week in the Sheraton Salobre Golf Hotel. We booked a Junior Suite with Breakfast&Dinner. Room was nice,altough it is somehow strange that the Suite consisted of two rooms with a door, so we had two absolutely identically bathrooms, two toilets, two minibars, two balcons etc. Food was very disappointing, evey night almost the same buffet, boring and without any creativity. My wife and I spent a long weekend at the this new Sheraton. It takes a while to get used the sorroundings and to appreciate its beauty. But it is a beautiful hotel. Service was good. Breakfast was excellent. Watch out for the temperature in the rooms. We live in Gran Canaria and wanted a weekend away from the kids. This hotel fitted the bill, great location off tourist trail of Maspalomas. The accomodation was suberb and every room seems to have a decent view. Service was good apart from in the restaurants where were less than impressed. Glass of champagne on arrival was a nice touch.
