Great resort for families and beginners especially, the chalet was fantastic, very comfortable, homely and clean, lovely food and the greatest chalet hosts in Leah and Gerrard who really did make our holiday special. They went out of their way to help, even taking our family skiing to Italy on their day off! We will be booking again for next year asap...

This is an excellent place for families to stay. Gerard, Leah and Megan were perfect chalet hosts. They could not do enough for us and made us feel at home and part of a large family. They looked after our 3 and 4 year old girls who both adored them.
The food was 5 star quality and it was great to come in from the piste to homemade afternoon tea. We would certainly stay at this chalet again.

Fantastic chalet, newly renovated. 4-bed room was great for us 2 but would have been a bit of a squeeze for 4 adults.
Endless praise for chalet staff Pete & Sarah who were exemplary as chalet hosts (couldn't fault 'em!), excellent cakes Pete and cooked breakfasts and evening meals were also first class.
Their hospitality was a legend, nothing was too much trouble. Honestly, we weren't paid to write this!

Chalet la Bergerie is a nice chalet in good condition. Spacious communal area with a small balcony looking across the valley. Good sized boot and ski room with working boot warmers. I stayed in a twin room which had no balcony and was a little bit gloomy but very clean and in good condition. Could do with a bit more clothes storage and some people may miss a bath but the en-suite shower room was very good.
You will need to get the bus to get to the slopes in your ski boots; but this is every 15 minutes during the day and just a short ride so I did not find this a problem. If you are in regular street gear the shops, bars and restaurants are within an easy walk.
The chalet hosts were excellent as was the food. Resort rep was very good too; helpful and friendly without the hard-sell.
La Rosiere is a small resort and best for families or those looking for a quieter place. It is a small resort and not unnattractive as French resorts go. Despite the size there is a good selection of bars and restaurants.
The slopes are best for beginners and intermediates. Runs are wide and friendly with some going through the tree-line (I only came across two small mogul fields). Conditions did not allow for any off piste stuff but when the conditions are better there would be plenty of opportunities between and off to the sides of pistes and there did seem to be opportunity to go further afield. Access to the majority of runs is via one main chair or a drag lift; and at the busiest of times the queues for these were not horrendous. There are some long chair and drag lifts and these are a bit slow. To get the most out of the range of runs you need to get into Italy which is accessed via a red run (which won't suite complete beginners). Slopes are south facing and there was mostly sun-shine during my stay; snow had not fallen in over a week but the pistes were still in good condition over-all (some patches coming through lower down). There is also a snowpark and a run with banked curves and jumps.
Lift passes are electronic and no photo is required. Usual ski/board schools available.
I enjoyed my stay very much and I would recommend the resort and the chalet.
